Wife and I signed up for our open water PADI course here. The entire process has been amazing. Everyone at the store has been friendly and helpful. The store is clean, and they follow CDC guidance on operating a business in the pandemic.We have not done our open water dives yet, we just finished our confined water dives with an instructor named Rick. Rick is awesome. He clearly loves scuba diving and likes teaching it. He was a great guy who really wanted to make sure we all knew what we were doing. He also let us have some fun on our own in the pool while watching attentively. Some of the other divers wanted to practice skills on their own and he was willing to help them.I was very apprehensive about diving before the confined water dives, but after Rick and all the training I am incredibly excited to become a diver. I hope I see Rick and the rest of the staff on other dives and I plan to try to join them on trips :)I cant comment on price/value because Im new to this, but Im generally the kind of person who would rather pay more for quality service anyways. In this day and age with computerized everything, having quality, friendly, service is invaluable in my opinion. Simply the ability to talk to someone who can guide you, or help you if needed. This should be a 6 star review. Its so rare that I honestly dont have any criticisms of something.

What a great team! Ive been snorkeling for years, and would buy a set of fins or a new mask here, and recently, I took the plunge into SCUBA. I had a team of great instructors, between Art, Amy, and Brian, I learned so much. Add in Zach and Captain Jim at the store, and there is so much knowledge and insight, I now make a list of questions to take with me when I go. I love this place. Now, I just need to get back in the water for some more experience diving.Thanks folks!

Carolina Dive Center never fails to live up to the expectations of a great dive trip. Always friendly, fun and professional from the dive shop and staff to the well organized trips near and far. This was our first trip to Clarks Cay, Honduras, the food was incredible and Clarks Cay personnel went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a spectacular time. I have recently completed an open water certification (SCUBA camp) and I must say that taking the training with Carolina Dive Center was a fantastic experience. The entire staff of the center was very friendly and helpful. The training was focused on safety and at the same time they are doing their best to promote SCUBA diving sport in general. I could feel their enthusiasm. The instructors were great, very patient and knowledgeable. I’ve felt that I am learning from true professionals. At the same time the family atmosphere in the center makes you feel very welcome and comfortable. I will be signing up for advanced course. They have helped me develop my new passion and would love to hang around with the folks from the center. I highly recommend them.

I recently completed PADI Open Water SCUBA with Carolina Dive Center. I had the pleasure of working with many of the fine instructors during my pool sessions, and check out dives at Fantasy Lake Quarry & Charleston Tug. Paul, Art, Zach, Nicole, Jim, David, and Ricky were all fantastic. They are passionate about teaching and make it fun while remaining safe at all times.The shop also has knowledgeable staff and fair pricing to help you find good quality gear based on your budget. Ive enjoyed learning with Caroline Dive Center. Over a year ago, I had a terrible experience and left a low star review describing the encounter. Fast forward to now. This weekend I met the owner and he personally apologized to me for what had happened. I was so impressed that he took the time to let me know that he cared and worked to correct the problem.

From scheduling to completing my Open Water Certification, Carolina Dive Center and their team were awesome! With my limited schedule, they were able to work with me and complete my certification prior to my trip. Phillip was patient with my skill level and addressed any and all questions I had during my pool sessions. Dennis provided a calm and open atmosphere for my open water sessions. I never felt rushed or uncomfortable throughout the entire experience. I highly recommend Carolina Dive Center!

Sooo..I went in tonight after work..just to gain knowledge about scuba diving and was greeted by Elise..wow..shes super sweet..I felt welcome..I felt like I was a part of a team just being in there. There were a few customers in there they were helping...and even the customers were just so enthusiastic about this sport and were so encouraging..I cant wait to get certified..anxious and nervous but I think Ill be in good hands!! Carolina Diving Center is a great place to get PADI certified! The employees are really nice and the teachers are amazing (so patient and flexible!). I highly recommend getting diving training because the first thing they teach you is how to handle issues under water! It really helped me be more confident and relaxed (even out of the water). Good luck on your PADI adventure!Also, dont forget to ask the instructors on their adventures and how they got to be instructors! There is a whole world of diving you can learn about in just one place!!!

The instructors at this shop are wonderful. They are patient and make sure that you learn to dive in the correct way. I really can not say enough about them. The only bad experiences that I have ever had at this shop is with one of the owners, Paul. I consistently feel like I am treated as more of a burden than a customer. I have specifically had a lot of problems when trying to schedule certification dives with him. The other owner and his staff are helpful and friendly, I just wish Paul had the same kind of customer service.

This is actually a 6 star recommendation, and my first Google review.Carolina Dive Center went so far above and beyond our expectations! I called the shop in February wanting to get my family of 6 open water certified, with no time line in mind. We had an upcoming trip to Curacao in March, and while I had no plans to have us complete the e-learning and pool sessions prior to our trip, the folks at CDC insisted our experience would be so much better if we completed our 4 open water dives in Curacao. They went out of their way to fit our training in prior to the trip, and had all of the paperwork ready to go for our open water dives in Curacao. On top of that, the staff at the local shop who completed our dives with us explained how great our teaching had been (Thanks, David!), and how very impressed THEY were with CDC! Thanks to all of you at CDC for an absolutely top notch experience! We will be back!

Ive been diving with this group for years. No one prepares you better for SCUBA diving than these guys! Everyone is knowledgeable about equipment, trips, and anything you need. BUT most importantly, they will make you feel like family.

I just completed my first PADi open water diver course with Carolina Dive Center! I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed the experience and how professional and courteous the staff was! Everyone was helpful, insightful, and they made the experience FUN! If you are considering getting certified in Wake County I would highly recommend these guys!! Completed my PADI open water scuba certification with CDC. Great experience, small classes so you get the attention you need. The gear you get to use for the class are well taken care of and current. Will definitely go back to this shop for further certifications.

This is a nice place with friendly people. It’s also one of the few dive shops in the area that provide tank fills for paintball/air rifle (HPA) or hobbyist needs. Refills are fast at ~10-20 mins (total visit) in my experiences so far. Even though I come in for air - I must admit I’m getting more interested in scuba after each trip. Also being a dive center customer they send informative (but not annoying/repetitive) emails with dive class info and related area events. No brainer for HPA / Scuba 👍

Do not do any PADI professional training here. The staff could care less about you.

In January 2014 I took a trip with Carolina Dive Center to explore the natural springs and sink holes of north Florida.I could not have asked for a better opportunity to complete my dive certification. First, I was late to the game, when I tried to sign up for the trip it was already sold out. Captain Jim, Hillary and the team there were able to make a spot for me. The trip included hotel, two snorkel trips and three dives.The snorkeling trips were a great addition to the weekend. I swam with wild manatees in a nature preserve, and really enjoyed the almost primordial step back in time that was the Ichetucknee River.Diving in Devils Den, Ginnie Springs and the Blue Grotto was unlike anything I had ever experienced. These spring fed, cavernous sink holes have a surreal element to them. My favorite was Devils Den. I really enjoyed the way the light played with the water. During our safety stop I looked to the surface and could see the refracted light breaking through the water, encasing the divers swimming above in this beautiful golden light, so enchanting. I also greatly enjoyed exploring the cracks and crevices of all three dive sites.There were many levels of confidence among the students getting their certification dives completed. The instructors helped and nurtured everyone. Theo, Miles and Hanna were all extremely helpful.Capt. Jim has a good team assembled. After taking the classes taught by Paul I felt that I had a strong foundation of understanding. Miles and Philip taught my pool classes - any and all questions I had were answered and the pool was always a comfortable and safe setting.I highly recommend Carolina Dive Center.

From the pool sessions, to picking up gear, to the classroom to the quarry – we have had a great experience with your entire team. It’s been a lot of fun along the way and we are looking forward to future dives! Hillary, Miles, and Phil have trained us all along the way to make sure we are ready for our future dive adventures. We really appreciate the professionalism, fun and flexibility to getting us through the course swiftly but with the right tools in place! A lot of times you buy groupons and people don’t treat you like “real customers”. We never felt that way with Carolina Dive Center –and for that reason and many more – you can bet we will be future customers!

The entire staff of Carolina dive center are absolutely wonderful, I have never felt pressured in making a purchase I was on the fence about. Ive stated what I needed and the requirements the gear needed to meet and after giving professional advice I made the purchases on my own behalf with no pressure by the sales staff hoping to make a sale. I have never felt pressured to buy something I didnt need or anything in the store that, they at some point havent used themselves.I have mostly associated with Paul as my dive instructor and David as well as theo as my go to sales staff and I am beyond happy with the advice and teachings provided to me. I will forever maintain a business relationship with this company as Im extactic over my atomic aquatics dive gear and how wonderful the staff has treated me.

5 Stars! During a scuba camp they made a gear mistake on the first day (tank too heavy for 10 year old) and so she missed half the first day class. However, day two they found the right tank, AND sent out an additional instructor to get my daughter caught up. They could have sent me away with a refund, but they made it right. I can’t tell you how much this means to me and they will be getting all my business from now on.

I recently obtained my NAUI recreational certification from here and could not have been more happy with the entire process. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable both about diving and the equipment they sell. If it werent for me moving out of state this would have easily become my dive center of choice. Highly recommended!

Did an evening in the pool with CDC as a refresher before an upcoming dive trip. Paul was a great instructor: articulate and patient. Recommendations for things like dive trips and equipment were truly made in the best interest of his customer. I wish more businesses were more like these guys!

I got my NAUI certification here. Jim, Paul, and the entire staff were very helpful and accommodating. I purchased all of my personal equipment - mask, fins, snorkel at the shop before my first class. After my first pool session, the mask I purchased leaked around my temples. Also, I wasnt satisfied with the fins. I needed stiffer fins. CDC gave me full credit for the mask and the fins and I purchased different ones. The new fins were great. I must have a very odd shaped head, because the new mask leaked. CDC again gave me full credit for the second mask and I purchased a third one. The new mask did not leak, woohoo! The CDC staff was extremely patient with me and swapped out not one but two other masks. Customer service was excellent.

I received awesome service for my Oceanic computers here. I inquired as to getting my ProPlus 2s serviced but Oceanic didnt support them anymore. Carolina Dive Center took the time to call Oceanic and get me an upgrade price that was unbelievable. They sent the old PP2s in at no cost to me and I got new PP Xs back. Thanks! They have a great selection of gear, wet suits, skins, lightweight dive luggage and even spearguns. Zeagle BCDs in stock. Nice, and very knowledgeable staff. They also have some nice dive travel opportunities. Great Service. I have been back for other items since and received excellent advice. I highly recommend stopping by to browse. I have found good gear here. Best stocked dive shop in the Raleigh area IMO.

Carolina Diver Center was very knowledgeable, safe, and professional, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to learn to scuba dive.

They have a guy that works here that instead of working inside the building plays parking lot monitor and is very RUDE and will call the towing company and have your vehicle towed off!!!! I am a Utility locator and was on the property to locate fibers on the property and he tried to have my vehicle towed away!!!!
