We decided to give this place a try because were always on the hunt for a new coffee/tea house. The atmosphere was very contemporary and inviting. The coffee and tea options were different, yet excitingly refreshing compared to the regular fare.As a bonus, they just happened to have some gluten free donuts also. I got the Yuzu and the flavor profile was spot on, without being too sweet. This place was a fantastic find and we will definitely be back!

Great place for a quick early morning bite and delicious coffee!! Very clean, friendly and professional staff. The location is kind of tucked away at the end of the street but not hard to find considering its across from the Amtrak station.Pricing is reasonable and they offer a good selection.I love the decor, its very unique especially the ceiling. Beautifully crafted furniture and the atmosphere is relaxing. Heirloom was in walking distance of our hotel, Origin. I definitely recommend if you visit Raleigh.

Cute place! I love their Japanese influence. I came for coffee and my friend for tea. Sadly, they were out of a couple things, but we were still able to get something we enjoyed. I got the brown sugar latte that tasted like a pop tart!! It was tasty. The cafe has amazing lighting and a cool bathroom hahah. They play great music as well, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

I was drawn to try Heirloom by the menu and the decor— especially the Taiwanese dishes and the mochi donuts. Upon entering, I should’ve followed my gut instinct in that this was primarily a coffee shop, and not to expect much from the food. The mochi donuts were very dense and not like the light and springy ones reminiscent from Tokyo. The pork belly and fried chicken dishes made me cringe in more ways than one. The sheer amount and preparation of the rice left much to be desired. For Taiwanese comfort food, this was sorely lacking. The best part of the meal were the quail eggs.

I was expecting a bit more meat like the others photos, but it was very little so if you order the char siu, do remember to ask for double or triple the meat cause a few bite in, all is left is rice & I eat like a chirping bird too Lol 😅. The rice seem to be a bit oily for me also, but def good rice not dry like other places!!Chicken kando sandwich was good with the bread (cripsy outside & fluffy inside), but the potato chip & chicken were a little salty for me, and I think they forgot about it cause it got a bit cold when I received it. They were super busy though for only 2 people working on a Sunday Lunch. The Jasmine tea was really good. Balance out all the oiliness that I ate. Definitely would order again $5The wait time was 40 minutes to receive my food, so if you’re in a hurry, you should order ahead and pickup & eat there or take it to go since it came in a to go container anyway.

Hands down, the BEST chicken sandwich/biscuit we have ever experienced, and were worldwide travelers. **Taiwanese fried chicken biscuit, add fried egg and cheese**. Upgrade to the combo and get amazingly crisped and seasoned smashed fingerling potatoes. Unfortunately couldnt biscuit down long enough to snap a photo but managed to get the taters.

I had a Sakura tea iced, it was great! Very floral. You can specify what sweetness level you want as well. For the pastries, but sure to get there early. I was there around 4 and they were sold out of most everything. They said the mochi donuts are gluten free so I’ll have to come back and try them sometime! The atmosphere is chill and it’s very cute inside.

Cool atmosphere. But awful service. Waited 45min for a singular rock hard chicken biscuit with no flavor. Upon asking staff after 25min, was told it’d be another 10min (false) and no attempt to help rectify the issue. This was on a non-busy, noon day. DO not come. Save your money and go to literally any other shop in town . I hope reviews like this are seen so the ownership can improve this place

First time I came through heirloom place. It was semi full waiting in line but the seats were plenty. I got one type of Japanese a green tea. Im not used to try new and found out it came out pretty good however it was not even warm it was very lukewarm or the peace in this place. Be barely warm even mixed with milk.I think warm milk tea should be warm but not burning...

Coffee was great, however I waited 32 minutes for the breakfast plate and the place was half empty. Then I did not ask for it to go but I guess since I asked 28 after waiting how much longer it would be they wanted me out so they gave it to me in a to go bag. After sitting there over half an hour I decided to just take my food and it eat it somewhere else. Ugh it was terrible, I did ask the eggs be a little overdone because I don’t like them slimy but this was burnt like everything was burnt and just horrible. So much for my $20 breakfast, do not waste you money, stop by only for coffee.

The matcha powder in the matcha latte was clumped since it was not mixed properly. This means you end up drinking balls of dry matcha powder, which is a bitter experience for $7. It only takes 30 seconds to sift matcha traditionally. Surely the cost should pay for that step? Otherwise, the coffee latte my friend got was good.

You can buy some kitchen gadgets or Japanese imports (ie Sake) and the music is inspiring (picked up some new bands listening to their choices) Its a Must-Stop-By place just across from the train station. Whomever created this place, they did it with style, intelligence and lots of love! They also make breakfast & lunch items that are creative and tasty. Check it out!

I only got the mochi donuts and I definitely think they are an acquired taste. I enjoyed the donuts alone, but the flavors were alright. I didn’t mind the strawberry one, but I’m generally not a huge fan of mint, so the infused mint flavored one was not ideal. I am excited, however, to see what other flavors they come up with. Perhaps a red bean one?I still gave 5 stars because of the overall ambience of the cafe.

I went in October and didn’t have the best experience. The girl working was super rude and made the worst iced tea I’ve ever had. We ordered two iced genmaichas and they were watery with zero flavor, she clearly did not brew them correctly. We ordered 3 donuts, the chocolate ginger, candied lime, and yuzu mint. The citrus flavors were good but the chocolate flavor was very weak, almost like cheap chocolate syrup, and there was no ginger flavor. The donut texture was great though!

So aesthetic, yet so expensive. The aesthetic of Heirloom seems to follow the aesthetic of Brewery Bhavana. It’s simplistic and elegant with slight Asian vibes. It’s a cute Brewshop with quality food and drinks but for a higher price. The food is well made and innovative. The drinks take a good amount of time to make because of the intricate craftsmanship of the baristas and brewers. The employees are very kind and hospitable. I was looking forward to drinking the same EXACT coffee (which was supposed to be full and had milk), and I got a HALF FULL!!!!! BITTER!!! cup of disgusting coffee. Horrible presentation. I already was away from the store and couldn’t complain so I wasted 3 WHOLE DOLLARS on a HALF FULL PLASTIC CUP which I immediately threw away. Never coming back. Today I came in and ordered the pork belly rice bowl, a hojicha latte, a chocolate mochi doughnut; and I got the yuzu sparkling water and the Taiwan beer. They run out of things all the time, you never know when you will go and they won’t have what you want. Maybe you could call in advance. The rice bowl was pretty bad. There was so much rice, and only 5 pieces of pork, over cooked/flavorless quail eggs, and more fat than meat. I could tell they tried to balance everything with pickled carrots but it wasn’t worth $12 to throw away over half of the bowl which was pretty much just rice and fat.The latte was good, besides being on the cold side. The doughnut was nice. It was made to order, warm, fluffy, chewy; no problems there.Oh yeah and they’re out of single sake shots right now so make sure to call in before your visit.

I’ve been here multiple times and gotten pretty decent oat milk lattes.I did have a bad experience about two months ago when I ordered an iced oat milk cappuccino. The barista explained that oat milk wouldn’t foam so she would have to do a latte. I said that was fine.Couple of minutes later I’m drinking my iced oat milk latte at a rapid rate because I had just done a long walk on a hot day. I thought it tasted odd, but I was really thirsty. About halfway through the drink my face started to flush and my throat swelled up. I checked with the barista and she told me I had never requested oat milk. I am very lactose intolerant so always make it very clear that I need oat milk or some other dairy alternative. She refunded me, but now I unfortunately won’t be going back because of that happening.TLDR: They make good coffee. I had one bad experience with a barista that messed up my order. Allergic reaction ruins weekend.

This place is BEAUTIFUL. The details with everything is perfect, I could easily sit here for hours and just look at the decorations and stucture of this shop. 5/5 for whoever designed this place! The matcha cookie was a tad expensive, seemed to be the theme of this place, but delicious. Soft inside and crunchy outside with the right amount of matcha and salt. Now lets about the coffee, not as amazing as the design and for $6 I was a bit disappointed. I know this whole lighter roast espresso is in these days, but the drinks are no longer balanced and taste rather milky. Its painful that the coffee was subpar compared to everything else. I hope this changes in the future.

Not only did I get a tasty cappucino to start my day off, but Anna, a barista, gave me so many recommendations for how to spend my day in the area. Shes a total foodie and ambassador of Raleigh - and knows her stuff. If you go, you must try their exclusive drink, the Laotian Fog (which is a kind of sweet, frothy tea.) Its superb.
