Mr. Ray Sears.Needs to retire. He thinks he is always right, wont listen. I had a company truck taken there for front tires and alignment. 8 months later, new tire shot, because the toe camber was not ever adjusted. He told me that the truck was not loaded the same way when we had it there (it carrys tools everyday, thats it) his machines are calibrated and I didnt know what I was talking about. Take your business elsewhereI did, all 12 trucks.Blacks Tire now

Very Racist. As soon as I told the owner my name, he became very rude and did not want to help me. I asked him to just simply fax an estimate to me and he said that was too much work and he did not need my money.

I give the place zero stars. When Ray was running the show the place was on there a game. I have been taking my motorhome there for inspections for 15 years who ever I talked would not give me the time of day because I did not give him a chance to quote me some RV tires and told me to go back to Blacks tire for my safety inspection very unprofessional never again at this place.

These guys took great care of my car when I showed up with a nail in my tire. They took the nail out and walked me into the shop, showing me exactly why they couldnt just patch the tire. They replaced my tire with a used one and the whole ordeal took 20 minutes. Excellent service, would highly recommend to anyone!!

I have known Ray Sears, the owner of universal tire, for over 26 years and there is not a finer man on the planet then Mr. Sears. he is not only knowledgeable but is also the most honest mechanic I have ever come across. Back in 1993, he changed a fuel filter for me that took his mechanic over 3 hours to find and install. He only charged me $17because he said it was not my fault that his mechanic couldnt find and replace the filter any faster. To know Ray Sears is to know an exquisitely fine human being! And while he only made $17 off of me that particular day in 1993, he is certainly made hundreds of thousands of dollars off of me over the years with personal and company vehicles, not to mention the hundreds if not thousands of referrals Ive given to this unbelievable human being and shop! There simply arent enough amazing things to say about universal tire and Mr. Sears! You absolutely owe it to yourself to give him a shot and let him prove all the things that I have been saying.

I have been going to Universal tire since 1994 when I moved to Raleigh. The reason I have been a loyal customer goes back to the first visit. I dropped my car off there because it was less than a mile from work so I could walk to work then back to pick it up. I needed 4 tires and just told Ray give me a good deal. They then drove me to work and picked me up at the end of the day. I thought I had gotten a good price but I compared over the weekend. Turns out I had gotten the best price and great service. Ray mentioned that one of my rims was bent from potholes and suggested I talk to my insurance because sometimes they cover that. Well they did. All 4 rims were sent out and repaired with no cost to me. From that first visit I was treated like family and they know me every time I come since the first visit.I take everything there first and if they cant work on it they always know someone who can. In this day it is hard to find a mechanic that you can trust to treat you fairly, there is always that feeling that they are hiding something. That is not the case with Universal Tire. To this day when it comes to Tires I dont even ask the price I just say Ray give me a good deal. They have yet to fail me in 20 years.

Patched a tire the rip-off shops refused to.Got a screw about an inch from the edge of my tire on my 2018 CR-V with 16k miles on it.Local Goodyear dealer refused to patch it saying it was too close to the edge and offered me a replacement tire for $268.00! The OEM tire costs $154.00...My boyfriend told me to have them put the spare on and see a local independent shop.Voila!This place rocks!Thanks so much guys for great, honest service and saving me major $$$.I will be back!
