Kimmie and Keith are two wonderful people. Of course the other employees are cool. They all make us feel like family.

This place is perfect! The atmosphere is great - very clean and well decorated. Everything is reasonably priced, the staff are friendly. One of my favorite places to sit and read or write.

Great coffee, given the ultimate test: Small cafes are still struggling to get Oatly, so I had a black americano and it was delicious, even without the creamer Im accustomed to. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich which I enjoyed. Dedicated espresso places often struggle to offer truly good food, but it wasnt an issue here.One more thing: Service was friendly, patient and helpful. ❤One more one more thing: Their coffee is sourced from a conscientious buyer who has direct contact with growers. While not *certified* organic, Ill attest that it is pesticide free.

Great little coffee shop! Super friendly staff, and a really good cold brew coffee. Lots of gluten free and vegan options for flavors and treats. Definitely will be back again.

By far my favorite coffee shop!! Delicious coffee/tea, friendly staff, and simply a great place for studying. The owners truly care about the community, and treat every person with respect and kindness. Love this place!!!

Great place to hang out and meet up with friends.

This place has great tasting coffee and a good variety. They also have a good selection of sweet or savory snacks to choose from. Music is at a good volume, not too loud but still audible enough to add a positive atmosphere and not disturb readers/students or people who want to chat. Overall, a spacious and inviting place with the coffee and food to back it up.

This is one of the most underrated coffee houses in all of Portland. Their pour-over is excellent and my favorite way to spend a Saturday morning. The owners are lovely and the interior design has a cozy retro feel with a minimalist approach. Once you try it, you will be back!

Traditional coffee shop style that is fantastic for a date, catch up on work, or get out of the house. Fantastic atmosphere that puts Starbucks to shame.

Ok place. To much hope here not enough helping. Just Hope. He gives it his best spite his stress. All we left with is a little hope maybe. In this town youll only find I hope you or I wish you , nobody ever says, Ill help you. Im making shirts that say I can help you, get away from hoping.

Great community coffee shop in Lents!

Decent prices, nice large space, friendly patrons and staff.

Refuge cares makes coffee tasty and quite affordable. The two men running the counter were friendly and did a good job staying task-focused when it was busy.One concern is the laissez faire attitude of covid-19 protocol. Lack of wear your mask signs, packed without any open windows/ventilation inside, customers entering without a mask, even a woman behind the counter without a face covering.People need to find a coffee shop that aligns with their values, makes them feel welcome, and safe. Sadly, this one does not with me.

This place is awesome! Fantastic customer service and love the laid-back vibe, its the perfect stop for me and my family because they have something for all the kids.

Lots of yummy treats to choose from. The coffee is great. Not bitter like some places. Loved the different seating options. A super comfy couch facing the window for some people watching, plenty of tables for work or study, cushy chairs for breakfast with friends. Very friendly folks behind the counter. Good spot to add to the neighborhood and they are open til 8! Even better.

After walking over to Refuge Coffee House, we were disappointed to find the employee (who later told me she was the owner) not wearing a mask. She told me she can’t wear a mask due to health issues, however she wasn’t wearing a face shield either. There was another customer whom she did not ask to wear a mask. It definitely makes one wonder what other health regulations she disregards. Even though the owner was nice we left without coffee, and a very disappointing first experience. I’m willing to give it a try again after the pandemic, since the owner is so cavalier about providing a healthy environment in her coffee shop at this time.

Ive been here three times now and it may be my new favorite coffee place. The owners are a wonderful couple who work really hard and care very much about their customers and their community. Try their spiced mocha. It has a wonderful kick. Also, my favorite spot is the white comfy chair nearest the window. Beast forpeople watching.❤

Great brewed house coffee, cool retro vibe with big storefront windows and spacious interior. Nice background music that they rotate eras (big band, 60s, 70, etc.)of each day. This is a highly welcome addition to this side of town, east of 82nd.

I come into this coffee house every morning on my way to work, and its become a routine MUST for me. First of all, their coffee is truly amazing, fresh, bold. But more importantly the owners (Keith and Kimi) are incredibly friendly and fun to talk to. They immediately make you feel like family. I unfortunately havent had the time to sit down to work or study there yet but it clearly would be a perfect place to do so.

Lots of outlets, clean tables and a good study space to go to for focus. Just be aware theres no soy milk, only almond or oat (as someone who usually takes soy in their lattes, I found that the oat was a delicious and comparable alternative).
