I rented an e-bike for 1 hour for the first time in Portland. Getting to the store was pretty easy and the staff was really helpful guiding me on how to ride an e-bike for the first time. E-bikes were definitely a great choice as I was riding down to the waterfront and because I got to the waterfront so fast I had a lot of time to take pictures while cruising around Portland. The store is not that far from the waterfront and the bike paths made it super easy to navigate. Would definitely come back here again to rent E-Bikes because it was super fun

We rented electric bikes from Alex at Pedego on a recent visit to Portland. I’d been wanting to try an e-bike for a while. Alex set us up and showed us how to use them, and off we went around the city for about an hour. It was a lot of fun, and very easy to use. And because we took the bikes out for such a short time, our rental was complimentary! We did not expect that. Thanks Alex! Thinking of buying one and we’ll definitely be back to this location again.

We were traveling through Portland and my Boomerang was just past due for her 100 miles service. I called ahead and the Portland store said that they would be able to get my service done for me. When I arrived at the store Brandon happened to be outside finishing up with a customer and he came over and unloaded my bike and took it in for me. We went off to lunch and a little shopping and within a couple of hours he called me to let me know service had been completed. Both Alex and Brandon were extremely helpful and answered all the questions I had. They both explained how the one issue I had (a squeaky brake) was resolved. I also took the opportunity to have them install fenders and a thumb throttle. And when I returned to pick up the bike I purchased a set of comfort grips and Alex jumped in and installed them and adjusted them to my hands right on the spot with no wait time. Both Alex and Brandon are great Pedego representatives and made us feel welcomed. As a side note, the store has a great shop/tech space with tools and parts...ready to help assist you with any mechanical issues you may have as you rack up the miles on your bike! Thanks Guys!!!

Weve researched bikes for some time and tested a few around town but from our experience, Pedego was the best fit for us. We recently purchased our bikes from this store and had a great experience. Alex, Brandon and Jodi were very helpful and knowledgeable in answering all our questions. Alex was even kind enough to assemble our bike rack. We would highly recommend stopping in to test ride or rent a bike from them.

This is buy far the best experience I’ve had buying anything. Tommy was so incredibly informative and made the experience so pleasant. The bike I got is amazing. I wanted one off the floor (instant gratification) but the owner talked me into ordering the color I really wanted. I’m incredibly grateful for that. I couldn’t recommend this place more! If you have friends in town or are just looking to do something different I would highly recommend renting a bike for the day. I have taken for granted what a great bike city Portland is. If you haven’t ridden one of these bikes you should! I can’t say enough positive about this particular shop or the bikes.

My husband and I recently bought Platinum Interceptor and Ridge Rider Pedego bikes from Pedego Portland. We worked with Tommy, who was very knowledgeable and helped us choose the right bike for our riding needs. He answered all our questions and even offered to customize the bikes (different handle bars if we wanted) and suggested upgrades (a more comfortable seat stem) that we would benefit from. He took the time to teach us just how to operate the bikes and encouraged us to test them out as much as we wanted. Pedego Portland is the greatest place to buy a bike, get some advice, or just hang out! The owner, Tommy, believes, and I mean really believes, in customer service.When I first came to the shop, I was sure what of what I wanted to buy. I asked him a ton of questions, and he patiently answered them all. He then asked a few key questions, and then told me that I would be happier with something else. Turns out, he was right! Last July as I was passing through Portland, I stopped at the Pedego Portland store. I had heard about Pedego’s from some techs at a bike rental shop in California and thought I’d take a look at them. I was met by owner Tommy Connell and the real force behind the store: his dog Kona. Tommy started answering my questions and then said “Let’s get you on a bike”. He showed me the basic working of the Pedego, told me how to get to the bike path on the riverfront (two blocks away), and said “Give her a spin”.Dear God: overweight, out of shape, bad knee, 58 year old me was suddenly on a bike again enjoying myself like I hadn’t for years. The Step-thru Interceptor fit me like a glove. After an hour I figured I better take it back. I knew at that point I would get one, in spite of the fact these bikes are not cheap (though, no more than other e-bikes of the same caliber).Tommy worked with me to get the bike in the color I wanted and had it for me in time for an upcoming trip where I could do some riding. Since then, I have put over 1000 miles on the bike, in spite of five months in the garage because of the cold, wet north Washington winter.Both my daughters loved my bike so much they each bought one. Just last week I brought two of them in for tune-ups and Tommy took a great deal of time to do a thorough service and cleaning on both bikes at no charge – he gives the first tune up at no cost.It’s a 400 mile round trip for me to get to the Portland store (and I will confess that the original reason was no sales tax on a big purchase), but I enjoy working with Tommy. I’ve now been in about a dozen Pedego stores as I travel and I’ve not found a better, more competent owner than Tommy. If you have any interest in an e-bike (and I’ve found I love the bike friendliness of Portland), stop in and take a test ride. Just be prepared to get hooked.

We rented some Pedego Bikes from Tommy at the Portland waterfront location last weekend! With family in town who have not experienced and seen what Portland has to offer, these bikes allowed us to zip all over the city and along the water front with ease and smiles ear to ear. However, Tommy along with corporate wasted no time in ordering me a brand new one, and I had my brand new bike in a week!The level of professionalism, how smoothly everything was handled, and how accommodating they were was pleasantly surprising - a huge kudos to everyone at Pedego.The Ridge Rider itself is just awesome. 2 yrs ago, I went on a hunt for the perfect electric bike and found that in my Boomerang Pedego! I love not only the pedal assist but the full throttle ability that can get me across town quickly... or up a hill when I’m to tired to peddle!Tommy (the owner) and Geoff (service) have gone above and beyond to help me out several times since. Both have a chill attitude which I think goes well in Portland.I appreciate how easy it is to have a friend rent a bike there that can keep up with mine!

We went on an amazing ride with electric tandem bikes. It was like an infinite downhill—you can pedal occasionally if you want. Thirty miles of battery can keep you busy all day. We cruised around the river in style with our music blasting. The kids kept saying how awesome and beautiful it was. Faces were sore from smiling so much. Definitely recommend this Pedelgo shop for the location and the staff, who are super helpful and meet you where you’re at—they understand customer service here. If it was in the budget, I’d buy one of these bikes from this shop, but it’s also perfect to rent for a few hours every once in a while. 100% recommend doing this, locals and visitors alike. Amazing day adventure!!! My wife and I stopped here on our last day in Portland while celebrating her birthday, and honestly, it was such a fun experience. We’ve never ridden on electric bikes before, so that was a fun experience all in itself. We also had no idea that Portland was such a bike city, so it was great to ride along the bike paths laid out all around the streets of the shop and most importantly, along the river. The river ride was a blast. It was a great way to explore a major part of the city that we wouldn’t have gotten to do otherwise. Finally, and probably most importantly, I have to mention the great customer service from Tommy. This guy was incredibly helpful and really knows his stuff. I highly recommend checking this place out. It was a huge highlight during our time in Portland and an experience we’ll never forget!

Tommy gave us such a cool experience at Pedego! We met him beforehand, and he told us to come by to try out the bikes out and said he’d give us a complimentary spin! He was so generous in taking his time finding us the right bikes, teaching us how to use them in the parking lot, and giving us tips on where to go. We tried single and tandem bikes and it felt safe, and we had a blast on both them! I’d totally recommend Pedego! Awesome.

The Portland, OR store personnel are outstanding in their service, friendliness, and knowledge of bikes.On Saturday, I had an accident with my Pedego City Commuter and broke one of the brake levers. I called Tommy who said bring it in, so I asked if they could do a full service on the bike as well since it had been over 700 miles since my last one. They did it all and I had it back on Sunday. Then the big surprise - it cost quite bit less than I was expecting, even though it also required replacement of two spokes and truing of the wheel. How often does that happen in life? Tommy was also helping me load the bike onto my bike carrier when he noticed some loose bolts on my carrier. He went back into the shop twice to get the appropriate tools to tighten those bolts. Clearly above and beyond the call of duty. The service I have experienced at this store makes me glad to have purchased at a store that truly takes care of my needs after the initial purchase. I love my City Commuter bike and I ride feeling confident that I am on a bike that is as safe as can be. Thank you Tommy and Geoff!

My chain broke on my commute this morning. Wasn’t sure if Pedego only serviced electric bikes, but I called to check as the shop is close to my office. My chain was fixed on the spot in about 10 minutes time on my lunch break. Very friendly, efficient service plus a sweet dog that welcomed me in the door. Would highly recommend.

We rented electric bikes here while visiting the city and I would give it a 5 Star based on my first time renting e-bikes. The checkout process was smooth and they showed us how to use the bikes. They gave us locks to lock our bikes up to go shopping as well. We only rode for about half an hour before we had to leave, and they were nice enough to cut a deal and charge us for half the price!

Tommy was so patient and informative about the bike. He made sure the bike fit perfectly and made sure I knew everything about the bike and was able to ride in a safe manner. I’ve been shopping around for an e-bike after I rode a friends Pedego. I loved that experience, but still wanted to do my research before making a decision on my purchase. After deciding that Pedego is the best choice for me based on research, I went into the shop on 2nd Ave. I got there a little before opening but that didn’t stop Geoff (service guy) from talking with me for a while before opening the store. The owner came in with his dog at opening and for the next 30 minutes, was busy with 6 different customers! I was shocked how busy it was at opening time. Tommy did his best to help everyone that was in there which consisted of three of us interested in purchasing, 1 person for a rental, and one couple in for a service. Everyone was handled respectfully and I was impressed. I’ve decided on my Pedego and can’t wait to get it shortly!

Pedego really is the best for e-bikes! Tommy, who owns and runs the shop, carries a wealth of knowledge and experience, is friendly AND professional, and took the necessary 15 minutes to guide me through my first e-bike tutorial. This was vital, since though still wonderfully simple to operate, they are just different enough from a regular bicycle to make the brief lesson very welcome.And yes, the electric bike is great fun to ride, just smooth as glass actually...I am retiring the Vespa, no question about it.60 miles for 10 cents worth of electricity and no insurance requirements?!!?Sign me up.

We showed up this morning at 10am to rent bikes and Tommy was fantastic. He suggested a route that was perfect for our family of 6. This was our first time visiting Portland and our first time on an e-bike. We all had a blast! We were not comfortable riding in the streets so we stuck to the river paths. Beautiful!!! One of my daughters hates biking but she rode on the back of my tandem bike and was able to enjoy it. Great way for our family to enjoy an activity together, when everyone is a different level. I highly recommend renting from Pedego. Make a reservation, even though we lucked out and didnt. Ther bikes were excellent!

Tommy’s shop is professional, well organized, clean, and has a wonderful variety of bikes. He has taken phenomenal care of my bike since I purchased it from him, and having hours on the weekends has really been beneficial with my schedule. My 9 year old son and I rented a tandem electric bike with a throttle. It was the most fun weve had in a long time. Wow...we couldnt stop smiling the entire ride. We rode some of Portlands steepest hills without breaking a sweat! So much fun...cant wait to rent again. Excellent, friendly, no hassle service.

Rented two electric bikes. The price was very reasonable and the service was excellent. They gave us some suggestions of where to ride and a good explanation of how to use the bikes. The bikes themselves were awesome. Extremely comfortable with nice cushioned seats. I really liked that they had a couple different sizes so both my husband and I were comfortable.

Tommy and the staff were super friendly and helpful despite the fact that we walked in within minutes of closing. The non-electric rental bikes were high quality, lighter and less awkward than typical rental bikes, and came with a nice u lock, storage rack, and helmet rental. They were priced better than the other pedal bikes in the city. It was an overall great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Portland. Biking through the city was super easy and a fun way to get around

I actually own a Pedego bike and my husband and I decided to rent a couple on our trip to Portland. Tommy was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and educated about the bikes. I talked with him about the bike I own and some of my frustrations and he not only understood but had suggestions about how I can get better performance from the bike. The bikes we rented were in top condition and he suggested the perfect trail. I would rent from Tommy again in a heartbeat.

I researched a lot of bikes and decided on Pedego on both product and serviceFrom the product perspective, if you are a bigger dude like me (say over 190 lbs), and/ or live in a hilly area, the 500W/48V pedego equipment is a total game changer vs the other e-bikes, esp w/ the Bosch mid-drive and clones.On the service side, it was really important to me to buy from a place I had confidence would stand behind their product, since e-bikes were so new to me. Having a local store w/ the company brand behind it was a big decision factor. But ultimately, my post-sale experience has confirmed I made the right decision. Tommy, the owner, takes care of his customers, and is concerned w/ any issue, big or small. And his customer-service attitude clearly is embedded in the rest of the store and employees. This is hands-down the product to get and place to get it.

I was involved in a bicycle / vehicle Hit and Run accident the day after I bought my bike from them and between the Pedego Portland store and the Pedego corporate office they replaced my bike at a substantial discount not taking into account their profit. They did it because it was the right thing to do to help a member of their community. I highly recommend this business to anyone and everyone seeking to purchase or rent a bicycle, electric or not. Shop is organized, clean, and well run. Tommy has an array of bikes and equipment to choose from at a reasonable price. Plus a cute dog to boot. Recently came here with GF and another couple looking to do a bike tour of town by the river. On account of the heat wave Tommy recommended we take the electric bikes out for a spin. I was skeptical at first but once you try them, youll wonder why these things arent more common. Great way to see the town without working up any more sweat than you care to. Could imagine it also being great for commuting in an urban area without a car. Would definitely do it again and highly recommend it.

My first electric pedal assist bike! Tommy was so patient and helpful. He answered my many phone calls giving me advice on which bike would be best for me. I went to Pedego Portland on a Sunday and he spent about two hours letting me try the bikes. The Interceptor step thru is the perfect bike for me. He ordered it for me and assembled it and I picked it up yesterday. I just love it!! He also helped to accessorize it just how I wanted. He helped me find a really beautiful and safe helmet, elbow pads and knee pads. He was never pushy just really helpful!! Thanks Tommy I look forward to much fun riding this bike.

Im 74 years old, rode my bike from camas washington to OSHU tram, yesterday. A great adventure but ohhhh so cold. At 2;30 went back to my bike and found I couldnt unlock my Pedego bike lock. I and other bicyclists tried while the sun is dropping and the cold is rising. In desperation I called the Pedego store owner, Tommy. He was at the tram in 15 minutes, with a smile and graphite lubricant. Someone had tampered with the lock and broke it, while I was at my doctors appointment. He worked on it for another 15 minutes and finally freed it. He took my lock and and said it will be replaced, since still under warranty. I just cant believe the the incredible customer service from Tommy and Pedego Portland. Tommy and his commitment to his customers and his products are the reason I chose to buy Pedego.

Tommy was super helpful & kind when I walked into his shop with a slashed tire on my bike cart during a recent downpour. He went above & beyond to help me and my puppy get home safely. He was very kind & professional & I would recommend his shop highly to anyone interested in buying or renting an electric bike.

Renting an electric bike with Tommy at Pedego was a great experience. It was our first time with an electric bike and he taught us everything we needed for the perfect ride. I highly recommend this place.

The Absolute Best! I have a Platinum Interceptor which needed a new controller. Pedego corporate sent a new one under warranty which I foolishly attempted to install myself managing to break wires and mess up connections. Brought to Tommy, the owner and bike genius, and he had it completely fixed, including a new wiring harness which had to be installed, and didnt even charge me! I had cluxed up a previous time and dropped my thousand dollar battery on garage floor - a big no-no! managing to crack case and who knows what internal damage may have been done. I scoped out replacement cost on internet. Ouch!! Took to Tommys place and Jeff, the tech, did his magic, replaced case, replaced something in the battery itself and Voila!! Back in business for a mere 40 bucks. New bikes, rentals, repairs, these guys are top notch and what make Pedego such a great company.

Great place to rent a bike to explore around town. They’ve got electric bikes, mountain bikes and beach cruisers that are totally chic with pastel colors. Customer service was top notch from start to finish. They even installed a wicker basket to my beach cruiser to hold our miscellaneous stuff and cell phone holder for no extra charge. I would post pictures but I don’t want to give Google access to my pictures. Anyway, go rent your bikes here :).Tips:1) They close at 6pm.2) You can park anywhere unlike renting the bikes from bike town which you have to dock in the designated areas only or you will get charged per minute.3) Rent an electric bike if you want to bike to the Japanese Garden since the hills are crazy!

The best bike store in Portland .The owner ,Tommy goes far and beyond the call of duty . i bought a pedego interceptor and he made sure i was happy with it it and checked in for a few weeks after and answered all my questions and was amazingly patient and easy going he cares alot not just wanting your business so refreshing you feel as if you have made a friend highly recommended

I went in to buy what I thought I wanted, spent the same amount of money but left with much more bike than I imagined : ) Tommy (owner/operator) knows his business. Furthermore, in a busy location with lots going on he took time to get around to all his customers. Pedego is a quality brand, Tommy is a stand up guy!

This place is perfect. Exactly where you need to go go rent bikes and cruise the breweries and waterfront and explore. These bikes are SO much better than those orange niketown bikes. The employees and the owner are also mad chill.

Was end of the day and I a front light with a snapped prong wire. Tommy pulled a drawer full of parts! Gave me three different ways of fixing the problem, DIY, or he could do it before they closed. I came back and the shop was even cleaner than it was when I came in. Talked about Pedego service and they’re walk-in/walk-out with a rental policy. I don’t have a Pedago bike, but now I’m thinking of one! 👍

Went in specifically looking for an electric bike. The guy working there ignored us for a good five minutes while chatting it up with another employee. As I was looking around I noticed none of the bike (there are very few in the store) were priced. So when he finally gave us his attention, I asked why didnt the bikes have any prices. He said they didnt want to scare anyone away, and then said these are not your typical bike. These bikes here are electric bikes. So condescending. I walked out.

I think the guys name was Tommy and he was awesome! Im taller than the average guy so I dwarf most bikes I sit on. That didnt stop Tommy and he pulled out about 5 different bikes trying to accommodate me. We finally found the right fit, and what an enjoyable day me and my girlfriend had. The electric assist made the ride so effortless we literally rode all around Portland jumping from the west side to the northeast side back to downtown. This made our trip around Portland even more enjoyable. We were originally worried the bikes wouldnt last all day but even on maximum assist and going up hills we had more than half the battery life left. We would definitely recommend renting a bike from Tommy so you can have a great experience also . P.s of youre a dog lover he has a really cute dog named Kona.

I never thought Id be interested in an electric bike, but once I tried one out I was beyond impressed and enjoyed every moment of the ride. Theyre truly a phenomenal option for anybody, and the owner and staff are incredibly helpful and knowledge.
