These guys are incredible. My boyfriend and I called last minute to rent some sound equipment for a funeral. The package deal we were looking at was not available, but the employee on the phone literally went above and beyond out of his way to put stuff together for us and supply us with what we needed, and more. When we picked up it was quick, and they were very knowledgeable about everything they were supplying us with. Everything at the funeral went smoothly and the sound system and microphones worked great. Drop off & return was super simple and super fast. I have never rented sound equipment before, but if I ever need to again, I will only be using these guys, even if I have to travel to them. Very kind, helpful, and if I could give 10 stars I would. 10/10, would recommend this company.

My partner and I rented some sound equipment from Pro Sound & Lighting for our wedding, so that we could record our ceremony to share with participants who couldnt attend in person due to COVID. Pro Sound & Lighting was very helpful all throughout the process, from helping us think through what equipment we would need to making the pickup and return process very easy. Each staff person we talked to seemed very knowledgeable and was patient with all our questions. We dont have much experience with sound equipment, but between the staffs explanations and the help of a more-experienced friend, everything went very smoothly and we were able to create a meaningful recording that helped us connect with loved ones from afar.

If you need sound or lighting equipment, THIS IS WHERE ITS AT! These guys were absolutely fantastic. I was looking for audio equipment for my wedding and Pro Sound & Lighting had me covered. Since we werent going to have a DJ, I decided to shop around the Portland area to find the best deal to rent the equipment myself. These guys were HANDS DOWN the most affordable and helpful company around. They even let me come by a few times before the event so that I can check compatibility with the equipment I already had, and were extremely responsive to every one of my messages and calls. Jeb was so friendly and helpful to make sure I wasnt renting anything I didnt need. I even was able to rent a GOPRO Hero8 so that I could Zoom stream the wedding reception for my family on the east coast to attend. Cannot recommend these people enough. When I decided not to hire a DJ for our wedding, I realized we needed to rent out all our own sound equipment. Pro Sound and Lighting made it very easy to rent package B, and very patiently showed me how to set everything up. I picked it up on Thursday and didn’t have to return it until Monday for a very reasonable price.The equipment was easy to set up and we had great sound for the music and speeches.Not to mention all the staff was incredibly nice and helpful.Would recommend to anyone in the Portland area!

This place has 5 stars for a reason. I called them months before my wedding to reserve a speaker and the guys here answered every question I had and gave me honest opinions regarding how many speakers I needed. I wanted 2 but they told me I didnt need 2 and should get 1. It couldve been an opportunity for them to make a sale but they didnt, I respected that.On day of pickup they explained every detail of the items in full and were so friendly and polite. My mom returned the items the following Monday and said they greeted her knowing she was my mother!Prices are also super affordable.I couldnt be more pleased and will recommend them to everyone!

This is the best place to get the equipment you need for a reasonable price. They are very knowledgeable and eager to help you out. All really nice people too. They want your event to be successful nearly as much as you do. I could not imagine a better place to rent equipment. After calling a few places I called Pro Sound, and almost though it was too good, like there was some hidden fee or something. But nope, it was perfect and almost half of my other quote. And open Saturday, which for me was another half off. Great experience, highly recommend.

I rented an 8-channel mixer, two subs, and two speakers which mount over the subs. Also included were all the cables and a converter from stereo 3.5mm (iPhone) to dual mono 1/4 jacks.Everything was ready exactly as requested and in perfect working condition. The staff was very friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and professional. They helped load up the heavy items and I was on my way. At the event, everything worked very well. The system sounded amazing, very clean and rich.At the return, as I met with the same exceptional help I experienced at pickup. I will definitely use Pro Sound and Lighting again.

Danny is the prime example of excellent customer service!! I was throwing a blacklight Boot Camp for the gym that I manage so I needed black lights... and lots of them! I didnt want to buy some so I came here. I was expecting to be talked down to like Im stupid like most people do, especially to a young woman like me. But Danny greeted me with a warm smile and told me everything that I needed to know about literally everything. He made everything so simple and easy. He even let me borrow a ton of extension cords and extra stands at no extra charge when I thought I was going to have to go buy some. I wish so badly I could remember the name of the gentleman that spoke with me on the phone because he was astoundingly helpful. Ive worked in various forms of customer service and production my whole young career and this person was top tier, among the best Ive ever communicated with. I called with hoards of questions about providing audio to my own wedding because I decided to handle it myself even though I know nothing, and whoever was on the other end of that line swooped under me like a phoenix and carried me on their wings to perfectsoundville. Like everyone else has said, the guys and gals at this shop are terrific. I was able to reserve all of the equipment I needed ahead of time and have it all packed and ready to go the day I was scheduled to pick it up. They really run through the system with you to make sure you have everything you need, including the minutia like power strips, extension cords, and adapters. On top of all of that, their prices are outstanding. I was able to rent a remarkably powerful DJ system for cheap, leaving me with a greater share of the profits from the gig. These guys are perfect for the amateur and professional alike. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for temporary or permanent sound or lighting reinforcement.

We were told to check out Pro Sound for renting our own sound equipment for our wedding. The minimal cost I was expecting was far more than what we actually paid - one of very few things throughout the entire wedding process that did not leave me thoroughly disappointed in how much money I was spending. My fiance and I went in clueless, and left feeling like we were well taken care of. We were having my brother pick up equipment, they were great about that, and even taking time the week before to to make sure the equipment all fit. It was more than I expected, I have no idea how much it took to set up, but I didnt hear about any problems. Everything was wonderful, and I am so glad we decided to DJ our own wedding!

I had a wonderful experience with Pro Sound. My wife and I put on a combined 50th birthday party for ourselves and had a band from Astoria come out and play. The band gave me a really brief list of the equipment they would need to put on the outdoor show. With that six item list (and having absolutely no clue what I was doing) I went in and spoke with the guys at Pro Sound. The sales rep I spoke with was a musician himself and had some suggested changes to the list that he wanted me to run by the band (the band concurred with all of them). He also filled in all of the gaps in the short list (e.g. all the cables needed to connect everything). He also had some suggested additional equipment items that the band hadnt specified (e.g. DI boxes - which the band ended up having to use).As for the results? Perfect. Ive seen Holiday Friends at the Doug Fir, Mississippi Studios, and Crystal Ballroom. But Ive never heard them sound as good as they did in our backyard. Everything set up without a hitch. One note to customers new to Pro Sound: they test all of the equipment before and after the rental. This means that if you show up before the specified time to pick the stuff up, you might end up cooling your heels for a bit. It also means that drop off isnt the quickest process (especially on a Monday morning). However, the process is well worth it. It would totally suck to bring home a big PA set up for a party only to discover that you had a blown speaker.Ultimately, I couldnt be more pleased with my experience. The quality of the service and equipment was excellent, and the price was very reasonable. It almost makes me want to have annual shows in our backyard.

I reserved audio equipment for a reunion. When I went to pick it up and read the contract, it would leave me greatly at risk the way it was written. Im very careful with contracts and read them thoroughly. The clerk was impatient, and when I asked questions about certain clauses, the response was to yell then to say I dont have anything to do with the contract, however she did not get me to someone who could help. Since I was not going to leave myself at risk, I declined based on the contract, but they charged me anyway!

I rented a mic and speaker set-up for an outdoor sports event I had, and it worked great. It ran music for most of the day through the ipod and did announcements with the mic. The price seemed reasonable, the equipment worked great and the Pro Sound staff were..pros.

In my line of work, I get to see the full spectrum of quality when I have A/V needs. I recently rented gear from Pro Sound and Lighting for 2 New Years Eve gigs and was pleasantly surprised. PSL was professional, knowledgeable and prompt. They put together a quote over the phone and sent it over via email for review. Their prices were also the best I found. The gear I rented was in excellent shape and upon further discussion I learned that they had a deep inventory should I ever need to rent for larger events. I wont be going anywhere else from now on.
