As I was working out of my home this past year, I needed more space. So, I commenced with taking down the wall that separated the living room from the dining room. Alice suggested I use the big beam and the side supports (which are still in their tree form) from an old barn in Massachusetts. This is the result…Thank you Alice!

Such a cool place but is very very pricey. I even picked up a few items (like a toolbox) and such that were broken and selling above what I could find it as new. Not sure if a lot of the things are priced because they are rare? Anyways, prices take the joy out of it and are vintage prices, not what youd find at another salvage shop.

They have a variety of cool items and architectural pieces but the prices are way to high for the items. Things in very rough shape are still priced as if the item was in excellent condition. So it’s a cool place to walk around and if you need a specific architectural item then maybe with while but with such unrealistic prices it takes the joy out of looking around.

Fun, 3 levels. My grandkids enjoyed seeing old things that we still have today but used differently.

Two floors plus attic and basement filled with architectural salvaged stuff. Stain glass windows, doors, lights, some furniture, sinks, bathtubs, hardware, glass, unique items and odd things. Take your time and look through, you might find what you looking for.

While I found many items of interest, as an out of towner, most are way too big for me to consider. I also found the prices a bit steep for even the smaller items I’d consider buying. I think this place is perfect if you’re looking for a matching vintage drawer pull or have a budget for remodelling, but you’re not likely to find a bargain here. It was fun to browse.

The prices are beyond expensive. Go to small surroundings towns to mom and pop shops where they got all of this stuff in the first place.

Always fun to visit. So GLAD that new items get posted on their Instagram page. I was lucky to snatch up two awesome Porcelain Street signs by seeing them on Instagram first. First-class service all the way with my frenzied phone call and email wanting to claim the sign. If you visit the store, 1) schedule a lot of time to look and 2) ask about anything and everything youre collecting. Theyll be able to find it, trust me, its dangerous. Youve been warned.

Like many of the other reviewers, I have to agree that prices have gotten pretty high over the years. I used to buy a lot here but Ive done more browsing than buying the last couple of years, which is still a lot of fun. Its an awesome store and I will continue to stop by. I would just love to find more reasonable prices because I love this store!

Great selection and huge inventory. Always something remarkable to see when visiting... Unfortunately the prices are a bit unrealistic on the high side for many of the more mundane and trivial items in stock. This is too bad, because otherwise its a great establishment.

Knowledgeable, helpful staff, great selection, fair pricing. Alice and her staff shipped a large transom and two sidelights to me in FL; flawless shipping and communication at a reasonable cost. They maintain a current online inventory, so important for those of us searching nationwide for specific items.

This is quite an excellent little place. Its like an architectural museum. Many old and hard to find things for renovating your home interior. The owner is a great lady.

I am a local and I agree with the other reviewers who felt that the selection was interesting but prices ridiculously high. Way out of reasonable range. AND also agree that the staff is not at all helpful. Waited at counter for several minutes while being ignored by one person on the phone and a second who helped a customer looking for directions who walked up while we were waiting. No one would even look at us to acknowledge that we were waiting. Wouldnt bother going back.

The store looks to be pretty good, has the salvage that people are looking for, is well displayed. But the staff on the day we visited was incredibly rude. The guy apparently has a problem with strollers. But rather than just say please no strollers or something straightforward, he insulted the stroller and badgered us until we decided to leave. Definitely unprofessional. Hopefully the owner will find someone to replace him, or clarify for him how to interact with a bit more basic courtesy.

Knowledgeable staff. Horrible pricing. I’ve been in many times and always feel like they’re WAY overpriced on the run of the mill stuff. $60 bucks for a doorknob I can get for $10 elsewhere. $200 for an interior door? Picked one up yesterday for $40 elsewhere that was equal or better quality. If you need a specialized period part, this is your place. Just be prepared to pay through the nose.

Above average rating because of the sheer vastness of their collection. They have *everything* here that you could imagine. Antique stained-glass windows? They got a whole floor. Real quarter-sawn antique pine floorboards? No problem. Whole hand-carved entryways (not just doors, mind you, though they have plenty of those as well). Dozens of Victorian-era mantle places. You could outfit an entire 19th century block of townhouses with the stuff they have. Including the floorboards. The problem is when you see the word salvage in the company name, you might be inclined to think bargain. While not nearly as expensive as some High Street antique stores in the area (or up and down Route 1), they arent *cheap* by any stretch of the imagination. But for people looking for larger antique items (tables, beds, chests, cupboards, etc.) they offer one of the best selections in the city, and while their prices arent cheap, I would say they are competitive.

Lots of cool stuff, but the prices were way too high. So not worth it. It felt like a total tease. Go next door to Flea-for-all.

The extremely expensive eastlake coat hooks we bought here snapped in half under the weight of coats! Every few months a new one breaks in half which I have never seen happen before with a metal item. The store refused an exchange for the remainder of the set and told me I needed to hang something lighter than coats on these coat hooks. Like what??

Interesting inventory, but completely ridiculous prices. Prices are two to three times what they should be and some are way more than that. For example, they want $10/brick for old Portland Brick Co. bricks. I can buy an extruded brick paver for $1.50 each new. I could understand if they asked $2.50 each, but $10? Get real!

Amazing multi-level store stuffed with antique house finishings, furniture, and more. I could envision a hipster opening up a bespoke-restaurant coming here and having a field day. I enjoyed walking through the shop, though the prices did feel a bit steep for some items. (I.e glass milk quart jug was listed at $12 each, old type printer drawers were $48 each that I have bought from eBay for $30). When I have more space than my tiny Manhattan apartment I would definitely come back for some 1950s soap dishes and reclaimed wood for shelves!

Read several negative reviews below before walking in to look around and I must say that my experience here was nothing but POSITIVE. Asked to use the restrooms within 2 minutes of being in the store and was politely told where they were located. Ended up purchasing 3 items for a reasonable price given that they were 100yr old, rare and irreplaceable. Very few architectural salvage sales floors have this many larger items readily available for sale.In addition, the woman who checked us out was very friendly and even gave some great recommendations on where to eat/drink/shop locally. (Btw, Js Oyster was a hit!)Absolutely worth the stop!

Architectural Salvage is a very unique store next to the equally interesting flea for all. Here you can find antique tables, giant fish made of soda cans, and door knobs that may have come from Versailles. They are even dog friendly, but be sure to ask first if its ok to bring in Bowser. The owner is friendly and very helpful when looking for something specific. Prices werent terrible, though its hard to compare as the items are fairly unique.
