I have a 12 year old vehicle and am new to the area. I came here based on the rating. I was not wrong. My experience was excellent. I needed a new exhaust flex pipe. The part cost $400 and install was $260. They were able to make a part and my bill came to $160. Yeah! Very nice people, but they really should be wearing masks.

Been there 6 or 7 times. They have worked on three of my vehicles. I was happy with tire mounting, tire alignment, even exhaust manifold bolt up ( only charged me 1/2 hour of labor cost). Came in one day in the winter looking for a tire for my 04 Jetta. They didnt have a new one but knew I was wanting to make a 50 minute commute to work that day. They found a quality used tire and hooked me up inexpensively. Good folks... recommended.

Great service. I was told I needed new rear brakes from another service provider, but Portage Auto body went to do the repair and found I had 50% of the brakes left and they told me it would be a waste of money to do them now. Saved me about $450 for now anyway.

Wow how I love this place! Have bought two sets of tires from here. Have had an older car serviced and has given me many miles. That car has over 200K miles and still runs great thanks to Portage Tire and Automotive! Today...had my Jeep in for an oil change and tire rotation. I have had the check engine light on for some time now which prevents the remote start from working. Without asking the technician fixed the problem and cleared the check engine light so now the remote start works thank you Portage Tire I will never go anywhere else!

I called for appointment for both differentials and transfer case fluid change, along with replacing all 4 O2 sensor replacement with provided sensors. I had already done the diagnostics for the check engine light, and they where more than happy to set me up, and do the work. I am more than happy with their work, and recommend them to anyone who needs auto work done.

Great service at a great price

I was traveling from Stevens Point to Madison. Just a few miles past Portage I had a complete failure of a front wheel bearing on my Chevy Suburban. I was able to get turned around and limp my way back to Portage. Not knowing the ares at all I went to the nearest gas station. It was out of sheer luck that behind them was Portage Tire & Automotive Center.Being it was on a Friday and I obviously had no appointment, I fully expected to have to leave my vehicle behind and find a different way home. However the staff at Portage Tire and Service worked me into the schedule and I was able to drive myself home, without the expense and hassle of trying to find an alternative way home and back to pick up my vehicle.The folks there were very personable and friendly. On top of working me in they also included a discount for me being a veteran. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good honest shop. By appointment or with help even in an emergency type situation. I could not have been more satisfied.

Reasonable, fast, and didnt try to upsell me on anything. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area that needs work on their vehicle.

Cheapest place in town and the fastest to get the work done also. Needed an upper and lower ball joint, a cv axle, oil change, alignment and tire rotation. Had to wait for the parts but that was the same for all other garages. Most other garages could do the work but could not perform the alignment. Not these guys, for this trip, it was a one stop shop. They were able to get it in right away to be serviced and I had my car back in a couple days (again due to not having the parts on hand.) If they had the parts, they were able to get it in same day in the afternoon where I would have had it back that evening. Highly recommend this location for any repair work needed. Extremely satisfied with the quality work that was performed. Will be sure to return for any future repairs!

Needed brakes changed asap and they were quick to get me in. Did a great job changing my brakes and were a lot cheaper than some of the other places I had looked into. Very honest and didnt try to sell me a bunch of other stuff that my car didnt need (hate it when auto shops do this). I returned two weeks later to get new tires. Got good Cooper tires for cheaper than Walmart had them. Very impressed with the service I received here.

Great quality professional service

Had an emergency stop here on a road trip up north as our wiper fluid had frozen and we could no longer see through our windshield. They got us in immediately even though we gave them no advanced notice and fixed the issue. As we tried to leave the parking lot, our car would not start as the battery was dead. They took our car right back into the shop and installed a new battery. After all of that, we were in and out in about an hour and a half. Fantastic service on such short notice!

I had an excellent experience with these guys! They were super friendly, reasonable prices and they were quick. I really liked how easy they were to talk to about my car problems and didnt make me feel like a dumb girl. And my car is running fantastic! This will definitely be where I bring my car from now on.

Had a flat tire on my truck. My aftermarket rims needed a special tool to take off the lugs. Portage tire lent me the special tool I needed to change the flat tire because I could not afford a tow. They also replaced the tire at a reasonable price. Definitely recommend.

I was broke & my church helped me so they took my car there. PT&AC ended up costing me almost $300 more(+350 they wer paid for AC compressor removal & a plastic pulley)!!! From the lack of attention on their work!! They couldnt make sure that pulley was in line to keep the belt traveling smoothly. Making belts jump continuously. Ending up burning up my power steering reservoir & soaking my enging & the ground.I had to replace that unit. Therefore costing me time of work to fix their mistakes plus new damages, parts $, & STRESS. Good thing Im the family handyman/Jack of ALL Trades!!!They just want yer $$. To put things in the wrong places in, on, or around yer vehicle. They are not people friendly at all!!!

I had new tires put on my truck and I was in and out in less than an hour. Great Service!!!

Jerks. I purchased a pair of tires in Oct. Two months later one went flat. I drove in on my spare and asked to have it replaced. After a spat in the lobby over me paying full price for another tire and telling them to take the new one off I waited. A few minutes later I was shown in back to the old tire and a rather suspicious new hole that had appeared being cited as the cause for the flat. Dirty business.

Got an appointment on a good day that I had off. Pricing was decent for all I had done and was told a very accurate wait time which was great because I knew what to expect and was left wondering!

I wasnt thrilled about a place of business doubling as staffing daycare, but apart from that the service was fast, friendly and affordable. I will definitely be back.

I dropped my car off with a very short description of the problem and my phone number. Car was done within hours, and since I couldnt get there before closing they let me pay by phone and left the receipt in the car. I would recommend this place highly to anyone...

I was on a roadtrip with my Wife and nine month old son. We had stopped in Portage after a strange rattling started in the car the night before. Not only did they manage to squeeze us in last minute on a saturday they also didn’t charge us when it turned out to be a loose heat shield. Thank you!
