The cheese pita and the meat pita are AMAZING! Traditional European bakery. I WILL be going back!

This is one of my favorite weekend traditions, standing in line right as they open, the smell of fresh baked bread and fresh ground coffee circling around you every time the bakery door opens. When you get inside and order your Burek, your mouth is already watering. The family that runs this place is so friendly too, and you can see how much love they put into everything they bake

Amazing Chevapi. Bread is outstanding. Highly recommend this wonderful and delicious shop for anyone. I drove over and hour and a half to enjoy this hidden gem! Owner is great with customers as well. Stop and check this place out it is worth every minute and dollar.

Phoenix needs more places like this one. Simple menu items executed to perfection. Must make a visit.

What delicious pastries! The cevapi are so good. Coffee is tasty. I don’t recall the name but there are filo type spirals with spinach, cheese or meat that I could eat all day. It might be our favorite place in the valley.

Balkan bakery is a small family-owned bakery that is an absolute pleasure to visit. My family recently discovered it and have been back every week since for the fresh bread, chevapi (sausages in fresh pita bread) and burek (phyllo dough filled with cheese and other goodies). The family that owns and operates at our lovely, super helpful and knowledgeable, and we couldn’t be happier to have found such a wonderful local bakery so close to us. I will never buy grocery store bread ever again, especially since it is half a block from Fry’s. It’s just become another stop on my grocery run

My favorite go to for delicious bureks. You have to call in advanced if ordering more than 4. Always friendly and always greeted as soon as you walk in.

Good bakery for fresh breads at a fair price, they looked like they sold out of some things when I got there at around 11ish

I stopped in firestone to have my cars oil changed and an inspection, and I decided to go in as a i waited because I had never been until today. I bought a cream puff and four bread sticks the cream puff was an amazing cream puff. However the bread sticks were the best Ive ever had soft and crunchy with light salt and a beautiful golden brown color.

So....GOOD! Simply amazing people that work here and the Boreks… Can’t recommend them enough. A must must try!

Good food at reasonable price

Definitely try the Bourek. Delicious stuffed phillo dough oozing goodness. Very authentic. I had the spinach and could only get through half due to the weight of the thing.

There are so many awesome things to say not sure where to start. Owners are really great and very very nice! Im not Bosnian and they treat me fantastic every time and answer all my silly questions that I always have. Im in love with the cheese burek/pita♡ absolutely delicious and authentic highly addictive yummmm!. Fantastic location and perfect spot to stop and have a bite. Their baklava is perfect too!! I highly recommend them and am so thankful that I was introduced! Definitely make this stop if you are hungry!

This was my first visit to Balkan Bakery, and I wasnt disappointed. I was searching for baklava, and this bakery popped up . Not only did they have really good baked goods(I missed out on the cream puffs!), the food was good too, and the were a lot of fun products to browse/buy too. Ill be going back for pastry and coffee. Oh, and the staff was very friendly and patient while explaining the goods. A great little place!

THE OWNER IS VERY RUDE. Me & my friend we’re sitting at a table outside waiting for our clothes not bothering anybody and the store owner comes over and says we have to leave & starts banging on the window for us to get up!! What kind of owner are you? We were definitely considering on buying from you guys but definitely not & will not come back! Nasty attitude!! That’s why you barley have a busy & it’s holding on my a thread! Learn some respect you racist

Decent place, staff is not very informative, the atmosphere is cold, unless your Bosnian. Ive travelled across most of eastern Europe for years, and been to many ethnic bakeries, coffee houses, and restaurants, This place was a disappointment. The Ironic part is that I even speak a slavic language, and I still didnt feel like sticking around and enjoying my $20 lunch. Perhaps I should cut them a brake, Milosevic was a horrible creature. But then again we did help them?

Authentic European bakery with freshly baked breads available every morning. Their specialties are bourek and Cevapi both worth a weekly trip to visit Jasenko and Aldijana.

So wonderful to have an authentic Balkan bakery to buy fresh bread, dried and smoke meat, pastries, and especially food! All the filo dough is made fresh as well as the pastries! The coffee is amazing. Makes me feel at home here.

Love this place, the owners are awesome and friendly. The food could not be better. All fresh made home cooked European style food and pastries. Also there is a nice selection of groceries and Jerky you can buy as well.

The owners of this bakery are incredibly friendly. They serve amazing pastries and breads, some of which I have never experienced before eating here. I highly recommend the cheese or beef bureks and the cream puffs. An added bonus is that you can call ahead to have your order set aside and waiting for you. The Balkan Bakery is a hidden gem in North Phoenix!

Balkan Bakery is a must for Eastern European / Croatian cuisine. A perfect lunch spot. The Ćevapi is amazing along with all the baked goods. They also have an assortment of imported goods to take home such as smoked / cured meats, condiments, etc etc.

Delicious! 1st time I went I came to late almost everything was gone but I grabbed a Tiramisu.😋. The 2nd time I was able to get (2) Bureks (1) spinach (1) beef. Again so good. I had never had one before. Spinach was similar to Spanakopita (which I always order at Greek restaurants because I love them) & the beef was wonderful. I also grabbed their yogurt to dip. Go early or call in day before.

My first visit was today and I already want to go back. All the bread products are made fresh either daily or throughout the day.The service was great. Had a nice chat with Jay. He was friendly and answered all my questions. The prices were reasonable and the store was clean.Just an FYI, this is the same bakery that moved from down the street. Google still shows both. THIS location is the one currently open.I highly recommend it.

I stopped in here while I was waiting for my car to get serviced. I got a mocha and a breadstick. So yummy! I knew the bread would be good. But I was surprised at how good the espresso drink was. Ill for sure be back to try more of their menu items!

Im no conessour of Balkan food, but this place is amazing. Came here for a quick lunch and immediately returned for coffee and breakfast the next morning. The burek is fantastic, I especially enjoyed the beef one. Their coffee is smooth and delicious and their desserts are unmatched. The owner/staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. I believe this will be my new quick bite lunch stop.

This is one of the best places a person can ever try in the Valley! The service is amazing and unbelievably good, the food is always freshly made and it rocks!! Moved into an apartment just around the corner of here, so me and my wife decided to try it out, and we both have to say we decided to go here. I had never had burek before, but if burek is always this good, I feel sad not having had it until now.My wife and I would very much recommend going here if you have the chance.
