This is the only beauty supply store I go to since I moved to Phoenix 2 months ago. The couple of times I’ve been there, the gentleman that works there has been very helpful and knowledgeable about the different products they sell. It’s black owned so it’s been great being able to ask the people who work there for recommendations, because they actually know what they’re talking about. 10/10 recommend. Won’t be going to any other beauty supply store.

Great shop, very clean, professional and friendly. The owner and other staff were extremely helpful and patient as I was visiting from out of town and needed to get to get some hair for the other leg of my trip. This was a one stop shop and I was so excited to be welcomed!

Sales associate Flor was absolutely helpful during my first visit there a few days ago. She was surprisingly knowledgeable of which products to use on my locs, and very patient throughout the whole shopping process. Such a cute and fully stocked store with great prices! I will definitely be back.

Staff was extremely friendly, helpful including some customers. I will go back. I like the products quality they offer. The place was clean, not kinky. Had alot of choices. You couldnt try on items due to covid19 and they do follow the covid19 rules which I was glad they do. So that why only 4 stars which is not there fault otherwise will change when I go back and see if they service is the same.

This store has a variety of products that are needed daily and hard to find in other stores for amazing prices. Very well organized which makes it easy to find what youre looking for. Staff treated me amazing and are extremely helpful. I will be going to this store only from now on.

Great customer service and had what we needed. However, I wish they had more variety in terms of beads and barrettes.

I was extremely disappointed in this store, their selection is horrible and their products are waaay over priced. Not only did they not have something as simple as a packet of bleach , I paid $3 for a 99 cent bottle of hair glue just to get home and the hair glue was dry. Probably wouldn’t have even been mad but to spend $50 on 2 boxes of revlon hair dye, glue, 2 caps and some over priced sample packets of conditioner is ridiculous. It’s even more ridiculous when you get home and can’t even do your desired hairstyle or put on lashes because the inside of the glue you purchased is dry. I will not be returning and would never recommend this store to anyone else.

Ms. Thompsons professionalism is definitely widely respected and will be more respected soon. My hair has grown so long after having bought some natural products from her shop. She was there for me when I was combating homelessness and housing corruption in the form of fighting for mold remediation and against rent inflation. Thompson is definitely a shopkeeper you can trust with your scalp and hair health, with your beauty concerns, with your hard earned money and your public image. The staff cares about their customers and actually asks you how you are doing and shows the utmost respect to their customers. SUPERB customer service all across the board. Its better than being mistreated, stared down and followed in Kroger Frys stores, Walmart stores or anywhere else our racist rivals have been profiting off of products from our hair care market. Nu York West has a great variety of products for all-natural and extensions wearing people to choose from. Nu York West is a true community gem and a great place for at risk women and not-at-risk people, all hair types and all ethnic groups to shop for their hair and skin care needs in a safe, non hostile and non-commercialized environment.

Horrible person there . Very ugly . Owner? I do not know . Wouldnt shut mouth long enough to find out . . Its ok , I wouldnt want to know a person like that and neither would you . She ended up making her employee work harder because of her loud mouth.

I PURCHASED A WIG ONLINE ON JUNE 9TH FOR A 4TH OF JULY PARTY. THE WIG NEVER CAME IN BUT THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD ON THEIR PAY PAL ACCOUNT. ON JUNE 30TH I CONTACTED NU YORK WEST AND THEY STATED THEY NEVER GOT MY ORDER. I SENT THEM THE CONFIRMATION THEY SENT ME WITH PROOF OF THE PAY PAL CHARGE. THEY CAME BACK AND SAID THEY DIDNT RECEIVE THE ORDER IT WENT THEIR JUNK EMAIL AND THEY DIDNT HAVE RECORD OF THE PAY PAL TRANSACTION EITHER. THAT THE MONEY WENT TO A PAY PAL ACCOUNT REGISTERED TO RICK LASLEY WHO DESIGNED THEIR WEB PAGE. I WAS TOLD BY MICHAEL I WOULD BE RECEIVING A FULL REFUND ON JULY 13TH 2020. GUESS WHAT I STILL HAVE NOTHING. THIS BUSINESS IS SHAM USING FAKE PAY PAL ACCOUNTS TO GET PEOPLES MONEY THEN ACTING LIKE THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS ORGANIZATION.

Excellent customer service, the people were very warm, welcoming, and professional. As soon as i walked in I was greeted with a smile. There are 2 small dressing room to try on wigs so you can have privacy, and you dont have to be out in the open. And its black owed which is a huge plus. I was so impressed with Nu York Beauty Supply! Nikki is quite amazing! I hope this store thrives in the Phoenix area. My husband and I just moved here a week ago. I was concerned about where I’d get short hair done! She gave me cards for 3 stylists in the area. Please visit this store for your beauty supply needs. The atmosphere is great. The store is nice and organized. It’s clean! The prices are comparable to the beauty supply stores in my previous state and to top it off she gave me a 5% discount just for coming in! Awesome customer service! Nikki has gained a customer indeed!

They have a very limited supply of products but I found what I needed. The only thing I didnt like which will cause me not to return, is that the owner followed me. And positioned herself near the register while I checked out! The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable so I didnt see a need for her behavior, if not profiling me.
