Today was the first time I tried demolition coffee and it was an amazing experience! The atmosphere of the inside of the building was cool and the patio was nice as well!!

Like a Phoenix, this business rises above it’s surroundings in Petersburg. Good selection of baked goods and bagels. Great tasting coffee, and a quiet, relaxing atmosphere to sit with friends inside or on the patio. Most importantly, they have safety protocols in place to insure a safe environment to customers and staff alike.

I love checking out places that have unique names and Demolition coffee is one of those. The coffee was great, I had 2 cups of the light roast.Breakfast on the other hand was extremely disappointing. Extra extra extra crispy bacon, no options for toast, and the eggs were a peppered gray mess.I would rather support a local business over a chain any day. I think their menu is a little overpriced for the location. I paid DC prices for a cookie and a drip coffee. The atmosphere is great and I love that they have a dog friendly patio.Baked goods come from a few doors down; although my cookie was good it was an impulse buy and not a great value. I did pick up a cool sticker for a buck tho.

Best stop from DC to NC for coffee and most fresh yummy sandwiches. Great seating and vibe. Decent prices. Easy parking and quiet spot. Highly recommend the chicken salad sandwich on a warm croissant 🥐 yum!

Me and my fiancée came here for breakfast upon seeing the good reviews. We were extremely impressed. Petersburg is a very diverse place and you can run into some risky business there but this coffee shop had an excellent environment and the food was both tasty and satisfying. Would highly recommend.

This coffee is delicious! We tried several different types and EVERYTHING was delicious! The staff is friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. Kids are welcome, which is a huge plus for us, and everyone was wonderfully accommodating. We will definitely come back if we’re ever in Virginia again!

My first time visiting..its was ok. We had a little of everything (pistachio muffin, cinnamon roll and banana nut bread) icedCoffee /frozen coffee .the frozen coffee was delicious everything else so was meh.

Play the best music. Indoor and outdoor seating. Tables, chairs, benches, couches. Lounge however you choose. Great vibe. Staff is awesome and will substitute to meet your dietary or allergen needs. Clean restrooms. Love their coffee and tea, London Fog is my fav.

Stopped here on my way to Massachusetts from Florida. Place is awesome, built with recycled construction materials, nice ambience. Food and coffee are excellent!!! Glad I came here.

Demolition Coffee is more than just a charming coffee shop. My coworker and I went for lunch and while the food is a little on the expensive side, it was well worth it! I got the blow torch sandwich, with pasta salad as a side, and the soup of the day which was a basil tomato. The flavor especially was exceptionally good and the portion sizes were very reasonable. The environment was quite pleasant in a cozy coffee house way. Overall a great experience.

One of the best cafe place I’ve been in a wail and I have been to many. As soon as you walk into the door you feel relaxed 😌. Urban music plays as you enjoy you time here. Has some outlets for those of you who want to bring your laptop to stay longer. The food is amazing; I had the Hombre burrito 🌯 and it was fire 🔥. Will be recommending to others n has and outdoor sitting place if the weather is good.

I went in breakfast time expecting a sit down restaurant with a place that served a prepared breakfast. This was not the case they had bagels and pastry and drinks for takeout that you could eat it there if you like. I was sorta disappointed because I was expecting a different kind of experience from a restaurant called Demolition Coffee. The employees were very nice.

I was in the area on business and saw the pistachio muffins and I had to stop by. Im very happy that I did. The food was excellent and the coffee (double shot) was perfectly prepared. There was plenty of parking across the street and plenty of space on the inside. The decor was industrial chic and the shop itself was very clean and organized. Id love to see a Demolition Coffee in D.C. and Baltimore!

Coffee shop with lots of charm. I ordered a large cafe au lait, which was good, but not very large. I really wanted a mug instead of a to-go cup. I feel the to-go cup was a much larger serving but didnt know that before I ordered. Had a muffin which was tasty. The people next to me had ordered a breakfast and it looked good as well. Very cool place with lots of atmosphere. Very clean as well. Plenty of free off-street parking

The most flavorful cup of coffee Ive ever had in my entire life. I ordered a large drip, to go...I got in my car, took my first sip, and was completely blown away by the flavor. Ive been to coffee shops all over, Ive never felt compelled to write a review until this cup. Never been here before, but will make it a point to visit again.All from an impromptu stop for a coffee in the morning, on a drive back to MD from SC. I noticed their sign on i95, which are typically covered with ads from corporate restaurants. Totally bummed I dont live next door to this place.

Very cute coffee shop with food and drink.I had the Apple Pie Chai Latte which tasted like...Apple Pie! It was delicious and not overly sweet for me. My boyfriend had a sugar-free Hazelnut Breve (which he discovered there the week prior and NEEDED again), and his lox bagel sandwich was beautiful.The outdoor patio was so nice to relax on the day we went as well, with wide umbrellas at each table.Wish I lived closer, I would be here a lot!

Clean facility with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. It was delivered quickly, but the food itself was pretty mediocre. The eggs and gravy were bland with the texture that they were instant. I wouldn’t be surprised if the biscuit was also out of a package instead of being made from scratch. I ordered a Dirty Banana, which is a cold beverage, and that took longer than expected. It was ok, but also kind of bland. All total, my check was a little over $18 and I don’t think it was worth it. Maybe the lunch menu, other coffee beverages and baked goods make it worthwhile... but I don’t know if I’ll be back to find out.

About what I expected, Starbucks with a menu. If youre dining in, youre brining your own drinks and food to the table. Portions are small too. Customer service was great. The place was clean and I loved the brick walls. Location is a little hidden away, relatively tricky to find. I wasnt too fond of the menu, all text and no pictures. I want to see what Im ordering before I order it. If youre looking for a quick bite to eat and gourmet coffee, this place is for you, otherwise, find someplace else.

Great quality lunch sandwiches, wraps, and salads in an awesome vintage industrial setting. Excellent coffee (better than the chains) whether drinking it black or getting something fancy. Free Wi-Fi and fair availability for power outlets make it a good place for students. Not a kid place at all but we brought our 1 year old along during a lunch date and didnt feel uncomfortable or out of place. Look forward to returning to try the breakfast foods!Edited to add: returned 2-3 times a month since my first review, and continue to love this place!

Im a big Starbucks guy. So much so that I even worked part-time there for a few months a few years ago. Primarily for the beverage discounts and free pound of coffee each payday. But that being said, its really just because like a McDonalds, when youre traveling in unfamiliar areas like I do with work. You really just crave consistency.But, occasionally you find a spot that takes it a step further, in the way thats brave, but has a feel and a mix of personalities on the staff that combine for a MORE than pleasant and professional atmosphere and cup of coffee. Its just what youd want for your own local coffee joint. And I havent been there for a couple of years, but Ive continued to hear good things. Im actually planning to be in the area before Xmas and probably around Xmas, so Ill be sure to stop in and get some pictures and revised review commentary.Bottom Line: If youre in the area, you cant do better than a quick muffin or other treat depending on the time you visit, and a piping hot latte or cappuccino of your liking at Demolition Coffee, in the town where I was born ❤️🎂🎉, good Ole Petersburg, Va. 👍🏾

The serve a house-blend coffee.. Its not as acid as pure arabica, but Its good, though..the ambient is good for hanging out and enjoying a cup of coffee..i am not giving 5 because the cashier was not smiling and kind of rushing..maybe because the place was full of guests and she was tired.

I give this place high marks for its light filled inviting dining room, pleasant patio, delicious food and beverages, and great counter service. My sandwich, the green machine, was well stuffed and flavorful. Substituting provolone for Swiss was not a problem. The frozen strawberry limeade was delicious and not to sweet and tasted like it was made with only natural ingredients. Everyone else in my party was happy with their orders.

This is our go to stop on road trips to and from the north. Cool coffee flavors, great lunch and breakfast options. I got a yetti coffee with mocha and cinnamon sugar, so good! Ive also had their veggie burger and breakfast sandwich, will not disappoint after a long ride!

Visited for the first time on a rainy Saturday. The parking lot wasn’t paved and was a mess to walk through. I anticipated more of a coffee shop vibe and brought my laptop to get some work done. But it definitely wasn’t that kind of place. Felt more like a restaurant/cafe. Very loud and busy; felt a little chaotic. The Apple pie chai latte was amazing! And my meal was great as well. I suggest going on a week day.

Stop by this morning. Great customer service good selections that you would find at a local coffee shop creativity over mass production. I had the turkey sandwich Le Bombe delicious and its REAL ROASTED TURKEY 😋🙌🏼🙌🏼👏🏻👏🏼 Some think its dry but I call it done and real not a glob guck fake turkey mold. I also had the Apple pie Chia spice latte exactly what I was talking about local coffee shop specialty you just cant get from a chain.👍🏼 Its also the best on a Fall day. Glad to see theyre keeping up a quality product and service.👍

Super cool environment in historical brick building. Coffee was delightful and service was friendly. Prices a bit steep, but I’d rather pay that here than at a chain. Star dock for breakfast - little options and eggs tasted like frozen cafeteria food. Come for the coffee and atmosphere, bring your own snack or meal. Plenty of parking a plus.

Ill start off by saying the coffee drink was spectacular. If that was all I got, it would be five stars. I got the bacon and eggs with toast, and tried to get a half portion of oatmeal for my toddler. The food was decent, but the bacon was really greasy. I was also told that they couldnt adjust pricing for a half portion of oatmeal, but they could give me a half bowl at the full price. Really? So I got the full bowl and wasted what we couldnt finish. With the touch screen technology and experience as a server, I find it hard to believe you couldnt just tap an item and mark it half off. Theres a way if you really want. I might go back for coffee, but not the food.UPDATE: Brooke, the GM, communicated directly with me after our experience in hopes of earning our business again. I appreciate her integrity and willingness to reach out. We will gladly give DC another shot. Thanks Brooke!

Was very disappointed to see that the seating area of sofas and table have been removed during the recent redo. This gave a real coffeehouse atmosphere and was a comfortable place for reading and study. The communal table that replaced it does not have the same special atmosphere at all, and renders the interior just another tables and chairs restaurant in an area thats already experiencing a glut of restaurants. I hope the owner will reconsider this change and return Demos vibe with the more relaxed seating option. However, the menu and coffee remain excellent as always.

We choose Demolition Coffee for a quarterly off site meeting. First and foremost our thanks to the many US Army personnel who clearly like DC as they were there waiting for the doors to open. The dark roast was very good and considering my 3 hours of sleep, was a welcome kick. I ordered the Hombre Burrito which was very good and my co-workers Bobcat Scrabble smelled amazing. She and her spouse make DC part of their Saturday morning routine which I think speaks to the warm, inviting feel of Demolition. This is only the second time I have been to DC and I plan to stop by more often.

I love supporting local businesses but I have to say, the chai latte options here are quite disappointing. They do not offer 2%, 1%, or skim milk. For this reason alone, I will keep using Starbucks instead. They also are not open in the evenings, which is when I would most like to sit and enjoy a drink with friends since we all work during the day. Demolition closes before I even get home from the office.
