I entered into an agreement with Fred for the removal and disposal of dry cleaning equipment. The previous tenant left me with with a big mess on my hands and I didnt know who to turn to. One contractor wanted to remove a window to remove the equipment. Another required the back wall to be demolished. Fred and his crew were able to disassemble everything and move it through the back door. They worked in a professional manner and Fred kept his word. Equipment was decommissioned properly and paperwork was provided.I would recommend Sussex Equipment to anyone requiring this type of service.

Fred is an honest guy. He works hard to provide good customer service. He doesnt nickel & dime you. Hes my go-to guy for equipment repair and used equipment sales because he is very knowledgeable his prices are fair.

We initially interviewed two companies, well kinda, the company from the Bronx never showed up and Fred showed up on a Sunday to see the location. Fred was very professional and worked hard to meet budget needs with a combination of new and used equipment. He recommended a top of the line Firbrmatic Dry Cleaner (Italian vs other brands), which uses no regulated or banned solvents (PERC free) along with other pieces of equipment, all specd and picked to meet the needs and limitations of our space.Fred and his crew did a great job installing and building out the store, moving pieces of equipment into position to create a flow and make the production line of clothing from start to finish, smooth and easy. Initially everything was flying and then, BAM!!!!! COVID19While there certainly were issues in the midst of the pandemic and frustrations getting equipment (factory shut downs, shipping, etc.), and nobody saw COVID coming and the devastating impact it would have on our life and our world (on so many levels), Fred managed to get staff to complete the build-out even with one of his guys was away and couldnt return home, another got COVID19 and one guy didnt wanna take any chances working and potentially getting COVID 19 as his girlfriend was pregnant and he like many others, was scared of the unknown. Fred still pushed and got the construction of the store completed including a boiler from Northwest NY, an exhaust fan from Grainger and numerous other parts and needed items.We opened in July and while we have had issues with some of the equipment, both new and old (expected despite testing prior to installation), Fred does answer his phone and text message. While he is busy on other jobs and sometimes cant immediately answer, he always returns our calls whether Marc or others are calling him. He works to help, has made special visits when a problem occurred and is extremely knowledgeable in helping to fix a problem, whether face time or showing up at the store. He has been there and I truly believe he will be there in the future to assist and help our store grow and hopefully expand.To the negative reviewers, I cannot counter your reviews but the Fred I know has been there from the beginning and has really really made us a priority regardless of whether the situation was minor or serious.I appreciate the work Fred has done and the value and involvement he has made in getting our store up and running especially his numerous years of experience in the business and depth of knowledge.To anyone in the area or anyone considering hiring Sussex, feel free to stop by or give us a call anytime. I have been Dealing with Fred Hall at Sussex equipment for a very long period of time. We have purchased several pieces of equipment including new water chiller system, Firbimatic Dry clean machine, and a new Unipress Hurricane HS2 with dual collar cuff machine.I have called him several times during early morning hours and late evenings and have always had a response from him. He has gone out of his way to come and replace/repair any equipment during late evenings if he couldnt come during the day.I feel the negative reviews are just to bash the reputation of such a good company and its owner. If you want the best bank for your buck, Contact Sussex for all your dry clean needs.

SUSSEX Equipment is the absolute WORST!I can’t get him to come in and do any of the work he agreed to do for the past year and a half. All he’s done is sell me $400 in gaskets he never actually replaced. He doesn’t show up for maintenance appointments he set up and doesn’t respond to texts, phone calls or voicemails on his cell or direct line for SUSSEX.He has wasted plenty of my time and would rather collect equipment from plants and stores that are closing than work with a new owner that isn’t going anywhere and would have repeated business for him.

Sussex ( Fred) was the worst person to deal. Fred is scam artist, He is took my equipment and didnt pay me. He never came back to finish the job. Dont deal with Fred from Sussex Dry Cleaning and Laundry Equipment.

I find everything I need for my cleaner and they did a perfect job.
