I like the coffee and desserts of this restaurant. The interior decoration style is also very good. The pool with flowing water and the flame stove with open flames all feel very good. There are many seats in the store, suitable for different choices in different moods.

Friendly staff. Tasty food. Laid-back ambiance. Slightly on the pricey side, but the portions are generous. I have to say that their iced Spanish latte was very good but expensive. However, I would come back just to get it. It’s that good!There’s no restaurant parking. But there is public parking across the street—they charge 5 bucks. And if you don’t have cash, you need to leave your credit card with the worker. This is a big no no for me. So, I left and found parking on the street.

Great place in Pasadena to catch an early Sunday breakfast and coffee while the world goes by. Get there early to avoid the crowd and get better service too. People think theyre a little pricey, but good food and yummy pastries make it ok for once in awhile visits.

This place was super busy on a Saturday, but the line moved pretty quickly. Only about a 15 min wait with a line out the door. We got a table easily. Service was quick and they checked several times to be sure we had everything. Prices are pretty typical for a trendy place in Pasadena so don’t expect it to be cheap. I think it was worth it. Everything was delicious - I was partial to the bread pudding.

I love Urth! I thought I had found a hidden gem in Santa Monica only to discover its actually more like the crown jewels. I love the story and how the owners have kept quality first while creating a highly successful business. This is the American dream at its finest.

Wow, great food, great coffee, great service. The line was out the door when I got there, but the line moved quickly and I got my food quickly too. I was in town with friends and they were able to seat our large group and made sure we had a table with enough space even though it was busy!

I hate to admit that the name seemed to be healthier than I would have wanted. I was not looking forward to going. I was, however, looking forward to reconnecting with my friends after a very long time apart, so I reluctantly agreed to go without any expectations other than being disappointed. I ordered the Sunrise Pizza and a rainforest smoothie and we all decided to shared a banana cream pie. The smoothie and pie arrived first, per their request and we devoured it like wild beast on prey. It was not like any pie Ive ever had. So much going on with all the layers of what I can only describe as heaven. My taste buds were very surprised and with the delicious smoothie to wash it down, I instantly knew I was in for an adventure. Both friends ordered tamales so I began to regret not following until the pizza, pleasantly exotic, arrived with their tamales and the aroma of everything was so powerful that it made me forget I wanted photos before I tore in to it. But I had to try the tamale and that is why I am writing this review. I have enjoyed tamales my entire life but never have I ever experienced anything close to the celebration that, once again, surprised my mouth that day. Ive havent been able to talk about anything else. I think I found heaven and Urth! I almost want to give five stars but the last star I reserve for when I have a deeper connection someday.

Hands down, above more than 5 stars, the-very-best-café-EVER! Cant wait to tour all the other locations, but this Urth Café, located in Pasadena, is my closest location unwinding ritual get away. I have a Spanish-Almond Milk Vanilla-Latte, with my breakfast, yet I begin with their fancy pastry dessert, a fruit tart made in heaven. Tasted- phenomenal! I also ordered my breakfast entrée, eggwhite-veggie-omelet, side of avocado, a side of chicken breast too. As you can see in the picture, it looks like a lot for one person, yet-I ate it all! URTH CAFÉ always makes sure youre doing okay. The employees take really good care of everyone here, in a professional promptly manner. So, when youre ordering at the register, make sure you know what you want; otherwise, youll be holding up a long busy line. Im super proud of the safety procedures here, and Urth Café always makes me feel safe. Everyone is super genuine and kind too! Great service, and talented baristas too! Cant wait to see this restaurant again.

I’ll start saying that I Love Urth cafe!The Urth Napoleon has a good taste but it was lacking one of top most important requirements..to be crispy and specially if I’m paying $8 for a dessert This one was soggy. It has a delicious caramel on top. Also the chair ripped parts of my shirt so now I was a bunch of threats coming out and it was a new shirt. Just some feedback so they can work on it ☺️ thanks!

Mediocrity has its price. My wife googled this place to dine in while we were in Pasadena. I thought it would be great…I was sadly disappointed. I had the Reuben and a brad pudding. The food arrived at my table about 25 mins after I ordered. The sandwich was underwhelming and the bread pudding had very little cinnamon and a smattering of raisins. Too much money for “ok” food

Ooh. Urth is so close to me that I have to keep myself in check to not visit all the time. The commitment to local, healthy, organic fare and beautiful coffee is a major part of what keeps me coming back. The ambience and great staff are bonuses. And they make the best carrot cake ever!

Love this place! Me, personally, I’m tired of plastic/paper cups for coffee! This is the best cafe to have eco-friendly and fancy cups. They have awesome espresso! Nice Spanish style! Can’t wait to visit again to try food! Luckily it has branches in some other cities like Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and so on! Hope they open one in Glendale/Burbank. Interesting, each branch has their own style! For example Pasadena is Spanish Style. ❤️☕️

Maybe Ive been unlucky, but the staff Ive dealt with here were always grumpy. I grew up in a restaurant family, and Im pretty forgiving in most situations.Today, I grabbed a muffin and coffee for a quick bite. I needed a fork so I asked a barista where I could find one. He didnt look at me or acknowledge that he heard me; he just walked away. Confused, I started looking around for a stash of utensils when he came back and plopped a fork in front of me. He didnt say a word.I generally feel like Im unwanted here as a customer. I like their offerings, but there are other places with equally good coffee and food plus better service.

Pricey but good. I ordered the sticky bun and a chai latte. Which is where I should have stopped! I went for breakfast so I also got the pumpkin waffle and sausage, not very good and was very pricey. My son also ordered the chocolate scones with a chocolate mocha coffee, which is were he should have stopped as well. He got a breakfast omelet which was not very good and appeared to be cooked in a microwave. All together over 50.00 dollars...not good!

It is one of my favorite places / cafes in Pasadena downtown area. They are always busy but wait time is 10-20 minutes. One hint: order online and pick it up earlier than staying in line. You will save 20 extra min and they still will let you be seated in common area. Desserts are upscale here. Try it once and you will stick to that place. That what happened to me😊😊😊😊

I really dont get what is the big deal about this place. I ordered a Ceasar salad and the lettuce was sooo big I could not fit it in my mouth (huge prices of iceberg btw). The dressing was gloppy and I have literally had better ones everywhere I have ever been.

Ordered takeout. Was excited because I heard great things. I got the cheese Danish and the iced Spanish latte. They had us wait on the side for the takeout drinks. Over 15-20 minutes went by before I saw the waiter with our drinks. He walked by us and I stopped him to ask if those were our drinks (mentioned name). He said no but I knew they were ours. I waited at least 5-10 more minutes before going to the front to ask again if they were our drinks. They again said no and we walked back to the wall to wait when they came back and have us those exact drinks. That was so annoying and the Danish was so bland. Absolutely not worth it. Wish I had a better start to my day.

The food was great. Stopped by to grab lunch with coworkers. The place was full at 1230pm during the middle of the week. I was able to grab a chair outside for our group while they listened for the names to be called out. There were people cleaning the tables and keeping every table socially distant as best as they could.

Urth cafes all over Los Angeles always get 5 stars from me. I just cannot find fault in them. The food they offer is always so so good and even though I’ve had lots of their food items so many times over and over and I’m always amazed by the novelty. My favourites are the Urth quesadilla, Tostada, Salmon dish, portabelllo sandwich. So many kinds of drinks too from their awesome boba drinks to incredible tea selections. Finally.. their sweets and desserts, are just mindblowing and endless. My favorite is the Carrot cake but I’ve loved everything I tried. All of the above in a super nice atmosphere with very friendly staff. 5 stars no doubt!

Urth Caffe Pasadena was great!! My first time here. I enjoyed a delicious Belgium Waffle with Fresh Strawberries and Fresh Orange Juice. I would definitely eat here again in a heartbeat!!

Large patio area. Awesome coffee drinks, fresh squeezed drinks and boba drinks. They serve breakfast and lunch. I love the egg white and spinach sandwich because its filling but not heavy. I had the oatmeal and breakfast burrito on other occasions and they are also very tasty and satisfying. The Spanish latte is popular and for good reason. You gotta try this place!

Crazy slow to sever food to table. Had to wait 40 min for Avocado Toast, and 60 min for Belgium Waffle to recieved other 1/2 of order. If you have any kind of schedule, go elsewhere...anywhere. yea, place is expensive...more like $$$$....note to self, dont give tip before service....because their isnt service...of course, you are welcome Urth Cafe... to the aplogy I never got.

What a beautiful place! High vaulted ceilings and decorated tile all over. We had pastries, which were delish. And the Green Rose Tea is 👍!They have a very limited parking are in the back for pick-ups, but don’t worry, there’s plenty of street parking (usually 1 hour free) or there’s a paid public parking right behind them.

And loved the potatoes and croissant...Sausages were a bit too sweet but surely it is still a wonderful place for interesting tasty pastries, croissants and bread. The food was good. But theyre clearly understaffed. We wanted to dine in and though there were a few tables that were free, they still had other diners leftovers on them and so we just opted to take it out.

The café has a great atmosphere and location. There isnt much parking as of the last time I went, but the area its in makes it unsuitable to make space for their own parking so its excusable. Theres a wide selection on the menu with different kinds of drinks. We ordered some small treats with smoothies which, most of the time, turn out a little bit icier and flavorless than expected. However, Im sure they almost always use fresh ingredients as you can tell the smoothies taste original and of quality. The looks and decorations are very nice but the themes often seem to collide a bit so it makes for a confusing look most of the time. For some reason you get a table assigned to your party, which in my opinion is a bit too much for a café. The café puts a lot of effort into the environment, or so I have noticed. Its a good place to hang in the summer, it was definitely memorable but theres nothing remarkable or special about the café that would make me want to go back.

Had breakfast 2 days in a row. Both times were fresh and tasty. Our eggs were cooked to the correct consistency and our coffees were not scolding hot. We tried some boba, and although not authentic, it was still delicious with fresh pearls. The place had nice staff and a good atmosphere. Highly recommend for breakfast.

Excellent breakfast, large cinnamon rolls, waffles and creamy eggs. The coffee is hot and strong and you can’t beat the outdoor seating.

Came to Pasadena over the weekend for a trip and decided on Urth Cafe because it had non-vegan/vegan options for us. Ordered to-go in line and were told most of the vegan options werent offered by the location or out that day, despite being on the menu. Repeatedly got my coffee order wrong and had to be corrected. Cashier seemed to barely pay any attention and asked multiple times if it was for-here or to-go even though we emphasized to-go. Paid, was given a number, and told to sit at a table and our food would be brought to us. Waited 20 min for our coffee and my drink was told to me wrong, in a for-here cup, then they rushed off after we said so without acknowledging. My s/o got the server again to clarify that my drink was correct, and that we needed it to-go. They halfheartedly gave us a cold cup and took off again. Waited almost an hour, even after asking staff if we were waiting where we were supposed to, only to find out that there was a designated to-go pick up area and they were calling out orders; while customers behind us in line were quickly getting their orders. Walked over to ask for help and were ignored despite there being no guests in line. Once we were finally acknowledged, we were told it was for-here and that it was wrong. (Obviously) Staff looked for order that was BARELY coming out, bagged it, and left on the counter, only to ignore us again. Waited 10 min for our order to be practically tossed at us. Food was warm, (my mushrooms were almost cold in my panini) and our cake was melting. Horrible experience and will not be coming back.

The food is delicious but the customer service has never been good but now it is worse. The place was empty I had four employees in front of me and talking among themselves. A lady at the pick up greeted me, told her my name. It was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes. I was there in 30 minutes because they are never on time. She walked away and did not say anything. So I took my receipt out of the cash register print-out and held it still no other employees said anything. I finally asked where she went they said she went to get my order so it hadn’t been packed. I waited another 10 minutes finally she returned I signed my receipt with no tip for her. Please get it together but I probably won’t be back.

Anyone in the L.A. area must visit at least one of their locations for breakfast. Delicious coffee, sandwiches(toasts or paninis), and pastries. Poach De Parma or Eggs Salmone - pick one and will not be disappointed. After such filling breakfast/brunch may need to skip lunch.

I have visited this place about 8 times , the service is not very good they dont come back to your table I understand its not a full service establishment but when they dropped off your food asking for napkins or water they always say I be back and I end up getting it myself, at these prices I believe the service should merit the cost, food tastes wise not bad , definitely need to step up the service.

This place is so cute! So popular so it is very busy, give yourself at least 15-20 mins for a even a simple coffee order but you can tell it’s worth the hype.I got coffee and cheesecake on my short trip here. Really loved the ambiance. Next time I’ll try to dine in.

I have to say its hit or miss at this location. Ive eaten at the other locations have had excellent experiences each time.Ive had 3 bad experiences here but 3 good experiences.Considering the prices I would expect nothing but greatness each time.Based on my last encounter I had a decent experience. We went early am for a light breakfast. The grapefruit bowl was yummy but needed more mint. The cheese plate was good but needed more bread considering how huge the cheese portions were.I may or may not be back. Like I said, its hit or miss.

I gave it a 3 star because it’s not what I expected or maybe I just need to order something else Next time. Today I ordered the chicken quesadilla and for $15 I thought I would get a large amount with 1 or 2 sides but it didn’t. And then when they handed me my food it was 3 small pieces of quesadilla in the container and it tasted Blane. I could have made that at home to be honest. Not worth $15 for sure (chicken quesadilla) but the lemonade was delicious

Im pretty sure that this place is good when you dine in. Getting drinks or anything to go is pretty much a nightmare. Its chaotic and it takes way too long. But they do have wonderful things on their menu and I will try their dining options as opposed to ordering things to go.

Organic...nope!It was important to me for health reasons to drink organic milk. I ordered a Spanish latte and paid extra for organic milk. I watched the barista make my drink. He used something from a box called Planet Froth and a bit of not organic milk. He called my name and I picked up my drink. I asked him if he used organic milk in order to give him a chance to fix it. Without looking at me, he shook his head yes.He did not give me what I ordered and paid more for. I watched him. It wasnt busy. It was right when they opened.Its too bad. I used to love Urth Caffe but now I dont trust them.

Been here through the years. Always enjoyed the good food and ambience. Recently went during the pandemic and I liked how well they have adapted. The tables are spaced out and outside. Still a great time. They should honestly open a cafe only spot.

First time here. I loved the food options from breakfast to lunch options. I loved the selection of food for vegetarian and vegans. The food was amazing and the tea. I had to take desert home and share for later. The staff was really helpful, and bathroom really clean.

I somehow didn’t know about this place till last week and boy am I coming back. The portion sizes are generous, the food is extremely tasty and have great attention to detail. The menu is also very diverse in options and they offer things most cafés don’t, like an African Tea (rooibos) latte, which I highly recommend.

This location was nice because of all the indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of spaces to choose from on the patio, some tables had canopies so you can sit in the shade during the day and another large patio area had a good amount of heat lamps to sit in the cool evenings. Teas are great and made with care. Didnt try the food, but the menu has a respectable amount of options for a cafe and theres a bunch of desserts if thats your thang

So busy that it takes away from the experience. Meaning the wait staff are so overwhelmed that they cannot help with anything other than their current task. The self serve water was empty, bathrooms were filthy and out of supplies, unable to get take home boxes, that sort of busy. The food was OK, it was tasty but not put together as intended, my pot roast sandwich was thrown together to first appear ok but after one bite and the rest of the sandwich is bread could have been put together where there was enough meat to go the length of the bread it was part of. Anyway, unlikely Id come here for anything other that coffee and desert since the deserts loom pre-made hopefully they dont mess those up also.

I haven’t tried their food, but I’ve tried their cake and drinks. I really like their Earl Grey Cake! It’s a huge cafe with lots of seats. They have a express drink take out corner that opens only during 9 A.M. to 2 P.M.

Dessert were pretty much fantastic. Year round vegan pumpkin pie? Yes please! And their tiramisu just the perfect heavenly bite.

Their signature Spanish latte is available in decaf. Pot roast quesadillas are grilled slightly crispy pairs well with any beverage.

I usually just come here for coffee ☕! Its really good and it is organic! Anything else here I dont buy because the prices are ridiculously high here! And it is on most days crowded. They have good service and treat you with respect!

Spanish Latte. All-day Everyday. If your not into sweet drinks ask for half the sweetener or no sweetener at all. You can get it regular and strong as well and if you are a caffeine junkie, you will find paradise making it strong. Lots of food and sweets options as well!!!!!

Good times. Came for dinner and got 3 different salads, two different pizzas, green tea latte, and watermelon juice. Prices are expensive but we all are family style. I went to both the Chapman one and the Pasadena locations two days in a row. The dessert is amazing. The earl grey, pistachio tiramisu was great! Keep making those awesome desserts and drinks. Oh! The fruit water and a flower based water, great ideas! Cant wait to try more.

Second time here and Im blown away by the tortilla soup! Its the best Ive ever had. Always a great experience when I come here and very friendly staff. The hazelnut chocolate cake was great!

Food was a blessing but service was horrible. I was missing my latte and when I brought it up to my waiter it took 4 waiters and 20mins later to find out we were not charged for the latte. Once that was acknowledged, it took another 15mins to figure out that they needed to recharge my credit card for the latte then finally my latte was brought after I was done with my food. FYI...to my Latino people...its not professional for one waiter to another to yell out aye guey, y su latte in front of your customer...dont matter if we are Latinos as well!! Im sure it wouldnt have been done to someone from another race!! NOT appreciated 4 shoo!! $50 for 2 lattes and 2 breakfast plate and rude service....not worth it. Sorry fancy pasadena...not with it!!

Such an adorable location! I am a huge fan of Urth Caffes, but I really dislike making the drive to Santa Monica. This location is by far the most convenient when it comes to seating, parking, and being able to comfortably hang out.Parking is either street parking for an hour, a parking lot for $6 for the day, or a smaller lot shared with the Pasadena Playhouse for $1.50 an hour. Parking is ample, as people are constantly coming and going.There is indoor seating for the colder days, outside seating which is much more beautiful, and this little part of sidewalk seating that has been converted into a semi-outdoor/ semi-indoor spot. I opted for an indoor spot by the fireplace this time, with the best view for people watching.I try to order something different each time I visit, and I have never been disappointed.This time called for a delicious egg white panini. The panini comes with a warm tomato sauce- not tomato soup- to dip the panini. It was really delicious, but not too filling. I wouldn’t recommend it as an only meal.I asked the manager to give me his favorite drink and I was not disappointed. A honey latte with dolce, 1/2 sweetened. Oh my god- best choice! Always trust a worker.The berry tart is a must have. Honestly, if you don’t have one, you are majorly missing out. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. The custard doesn’t have that weird egg like taste other places have. And the berries are fresh- not frozen, not wrinkly, and no syrup preserving them. Great atmosphere for gatherings with family, friends and even business!Friendly service and delicious food. Honestly cant go wrong with any food or drink choices. Take your time and revisit until youve tried a few items on the menu! Paid parking in parking lot, as well as street parking.

By the time I got my food, it was cold. I didnt bother to ask them to remake or re-heat as it was Memorial day and they were a tad bit busier than usual.Otherwise, been here before and never had a problem with service or quality.
