Physical and Emotional Trauma.I paid almost $900 to have hair that was too thick and heavy for my hair type attached far too close to my scalp. After just a week, I had traction alopecia. Additionally, a bundle of my extensions was accidentally dyed the color of a coffee bean (my hair is light brown) and couldnt be fixed. Id like to add that I was assured during the consultation that my new hair would be ethically sourced. Short story: it wasnt.I admit that I should have done further research before agreeing to services. At the same time, I attest that Anilas business is unethical if not fraudulent.I returned to the salon the morning after my installation. I was told that the pain and severe itching that kept me up all night was normal and part of an adjustment period. On the phone, Anila told me that I got what Id asked for, and that if I wanted changes, Id have to wait 10 days for her to return from vacation. Alternatively, I could pay $100/hr to have the extensions removed sooner. I pressed the matter of the ruined extensions and was told that they were just extras.My first experience with extensions has left me with physical and emotional trauma. The pain I experienced was actually the extensions pulling a large amount of my natural hair out. I ordered tools from Amazon and removed the extensions myself.

Anila was so Rude i was confusing about the hair color I want so I was trying to take hair opinion but she get so mad from my questions about the color, she get so mad from touching my hair after color.Not recommended

Sydney Salon is amazing. I’ve been coming here for years even after I moved out of Florida. I will fly in twice a year to see family and always (yes, always) have a haircut, blowout and eye brow wax with Anila and her staff. The salon is very beautiful and everyone is so welcoming. Would definitely recommend. I’m 27 and starting to do their facials too. Excited to come back again soon.

I was visiting the area for my birthday and was inspired to make a big change and was very nervous about cutting my long hair and coloring it but i started calling salons close to my air bnb and i almost gave up but i decided to call on last option and they were the only ones who were open to squeezing me in last minute.Brittany was my stylist and listened to what i wanted and we decided on a plan and Anila the owner would swing by and check in and make sure she liked the plan and the progress we made. It took a long time and i even got my brows done by Nicoletta and when i left there i was a new person.The eye brow experience was actually the best one ive ever had. She took her time. She wasnt rushed. She was passionate about it and really has perfected her craft.The color and cut and curls- my hair looks incredible. I went red which was scary for me but i am in love with my new look which i desperately needed for my mental health. I had that covid hair if you know what i mean. Hadnt had anything but one trim since covid began.They also were very sweet and professional. I even was handed a snack by my stylist when i realized i hadnt eaten anything all day- took it right out of her own purse.When we were finished they documented everything and proudly posted my hair transformation on their IG account which was flattering as well.I highly recommend this place and might even come back even though i live 2 hours away. Its hard to find a salon especially when youre new to an area but they made me feel welcome and i trusted them- it made me feel safe when the owner came by here and there to add input and suggestions. They are definitely a team. Even while getting my brows done the other brow lady kept stopping in and gushing about how great they were looking. I felt very confident and gorgeous when i left this salon and isn’t that what its all about?

The owner, Anila makes no effort to make the customer feel valued for their business, instead she’ll argue her alternative facts. Apology does not come naturally to her, and she only did so at the request of the hairdresser. Not sincere.

I am so happy to have found Anila and her salon! After having my hair ruined by so many salons while navigating the Palm Harbor and Tampa territory, it was a relief to find someone who is current with todays styles and has the expertise to fix unruly or damaged hair and to advise you on the best solution for you. The salon is very inviting, elegantly decorated, very clean, with great music piping through in the background. Im sure soon this gem will require booking appts way in advance!

Both Anila and Natalya have been taking care of my hair for 12 years. They are artists. Salon is conveniently located, clean and professional. Other services I love are lash extensions and nails. Aida is the best manicurist I have ever been to and she does an amazing job waxing my crazy browns. Always a wonderful experience!

Anila got me in for a haircut, unbelievably, during the first week back from COVID stay-at-home orders. We both wore masks and spacing in the salon was extremely conservative. Everything was clean and Anila has made some update to the salon since we were last there. Its great to see one of our local small businesses thriving again.

I by accident found Sydney Salon by Anila and I am so happy I went with my gut and booked an appointment. Tori was my Stylist but Anila was amazing too, always checking on me and making sure I was comfortable.I went in for a balayage color and because my hair was so dark, both Tori and Anila walked me through on what to do over the mext few visits. Today was the initial visit and even though we still have some sessions to get the color and style I want. I walked put extremely happy and im already counting down days until my next visit. Omar is “the bomb”. His technique in cutting and styling is fantastic not to mention that he is the absolute color master! He’s precise, professional, charismatic and a true artist. I was sold the very first time I met him and he got to style my hair. Truly a great young man and I enjoy coming to get my hair with him each time.

Great experience!!!Our first time to Salon Sydney was two days ago when I took my daughter to get highlights. She has had her hair highlighted twice before, however, was not happy with the end result. Anila listened to her and my daughter was finally elated with the end result! She loved it! I had my hair done by Omar and he was amazing! I went in for a keratin treatment which I’d never had before. He explained the process and even though it took 4hrs (i have long and thick hair) he took his time and didn’t skimp on the process!!! Everyone was so pleasant and the owner makes sure everyone is happy with their service. The treatment worked great and I love my hair again!!! I only went to this salon because it was close to my old job and it had great ratings, i live in Pinellas Park and no longer work in Palm Harbor but you bet i will be going back to this salon!!!

She argued with me about my extensions and then started to yell at the stylist in front of me. .ive beenn coming to omar for Years And Ive always been very happy Until she told me that I have no idea what Im talking about and disrespected the stylist that was doing my hair. I dont understand how an owner can treat her staff with such blatant disrespect Ive seen her work Im not that thrilled.

I recently read a bad review by one of the hair stylist that was working at Sydney Salon by Anila. I feel this is a disgruntled employee who could possibly have been fired from his job. I have been going there since the day the salon opened and many of the staff have remained the same over the years. It is a very sophisticated salon with excellent stylist including the owner. Anila, the owner, is excellent and very professional. When I am checking reviews and see a bad one, I always like to do a background check on that person to see if there is a reason for their behavior and what they write in public, especially when other staff working there are very happy.

The best Salon Ive ever been too. Nowhere else will top the service and care you and your hair get here . Anila has worked miracles for me even when other salons really messed up my color . I now trust no place else for amazing hair. I can not put into words what talent is present in this salon. Always so happy when I leave and always see such beautiful work being done while Im there . So thankful!!!

I came in wanting to be blonder, just to be turned away. The owner wouldn’t allow me to go blonde, she insisted I went brown? I wasn’t treated with care whatsoever. I felt like I was sitting in a school cafeteria. The lady that sits behind the front desk was nothing but rude. I won’t be returning and you should either. Bad service and no kindness whatsoever

I have lived here for 25 years and for the past 15 Anila has been doing my hair . I can tell you this unequivocally.. All stylists are NOT created equally ...My hair comes out amazing every single time and there is literally not a week that goes by , that a random stranger Doesnt stop me to ask where I get my hair done ! Makes me smile every time 😊 I would never let any other salon touch my hair .... Quality products , great service and consistency in the results are why I continue to go .. please give them a try .. you will be amazed at how good they will make your hair feel and look !

Recently my son had his hair cut by Ania, and today I had mine cut and colored by Darcee. We are both extremely happy with our cuts, and Darcee did an amazing job on my color.

Was recommended to see Natalia here by a good friend. However, Natalia wasnt available and I needed an appointment like NOW. So I was able to get in and see Britney within 30-45min of calling. I needed a root touch up and cut. I was EXTREMELY hesitant to go here only because I had previously spent $260 to get a Balayage color done at Whole Salon (in Oldsmar) and ended up with a different look and color than what I had explained and showed with pictures. While my hair turned out nice after visiting Whole Salon, it just wasnt what I wanted and was way too expensive for it to not be something I asked for. So off I went to see Britney and the second I walked in the salon, I loved it. Its BEAUTIFULLY decorated and Britney and Anila (the owner) are both very nice and welcoming. They knew how nervous I was about getting a root touch up done by a different stylist and convinced me to let them essentially fix the coloring. AND Im so happy that I decided to come here! My hair turned out EXACTLY how I envisioned it from the get go and it was $100 less than I initially paid at Whole Salon. Also, my hair always comes out very uneven when I get it cut wet but decided to not say anything to Britney to see how she did with the cut ( was just a trim but even with just that other master stylists have screwed up my curly hair). Well the trim also turned out perfect despite it being cut wet :) HIGHLY RECOMMEND it here. You wont regret it!

Oh my God where do I began have been here twice and the owner has made me wait an hour and a 1/2 for a haircut I dont understand why she wouldnt call me To tell me she was running late but she doesnt even after explaining to her that I have kids to take care of And also have witnessed her physically harassing her stylist and yelling at Them in front of everyone

To anyone who is considering going to this salon for a waxing appointment, I would STRONGLY recommend against it. Heres why:Upon arriving to the salon, it looked nice inside, but the overall experience was HORRIBLE. The lady who did it took 90 minutes (when it normally takes maybe 35? 40?), didnt wear gloves, and missed about 60% of the hair on my legs. At one point during the wax, I actually looked down to make sure my legs werent bleeding, since she didnt apply the wax correctly so as she pulled, the sheet was caught on my skin. This happened several times, and it actually brought tears to my eyes. (consider that I wax my legs regularly, and I always chat and laugh through it). Not the case here. All my attention was on the clock so I could see how much of this I had left.When she finally decided I was done, I jumped up and left without even looking at my legs. By the time I sat in the car, I noticed that there were ENTIRE PATCHES of missed hair, and I dont mean a missed hair or two, I mean the back of one knee, the front of the other, a strip up my left shin, both feet, and anywhere other than the center of my quads. Thankfully I have light hair, so it wasnt noticeable that I looked like a balding dog as I walked into Wallgreens to get DIY Wax Strips and finish the job myself.Im writing this a couple of days later, and theres a new development. Somehow, the lady who waxed my legs managed to leave two red marks that took a day to go away, and 2 ingrown hairs have appeared on my shins.So in closing, Im willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they give good haircuts or facials, but if you are considering going here for waxing, DONT. The one positive thing I have to say about this is:At least it wasnt my eyebrows.

Horrible. I scheduled an 11:00 a.m. appointment three days prior for a cut/color that I purchased via Groupon. I received no confirmation phone call for my appointment, which was the first red flag. When I showed up for my 11:00 a.m. appointment, the owner was shampooing a client and proceeded to tell me that she believed my appointment was for an hour earlier and that she could not accommodate. I told that my appointment time was 100% correct and that I booked it with her over the phone. Long story short, after calling two stylists apparently to see if they could come in due to her scheduling error, I was unable to have my appointment that I scheduled three days prior! It was a HUGE INCONVENIENCE as I had purchased the Groupon and took time off work for this appointment, which wasnt scheduled properly. Naturally, I was perturbed by this poorly run operation and lack of value for the customer. The owner told me to relax, which rubbed me the wrong way and offered a different appointment time, which I declined. I told her I would be calling Groupon for a refund due to her nonprofessional attitude and inconvenience this caused me. As I was leaving the salon, the owner goes OH MY GOD! I looked back, gave her a huge thumbs down, and again mentioned the nonexistence of professionalism. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Thankfully I got my money refunded from Groupon.
