THIS is the place to get dance shoes! The owners know their product so well and have the experience to take one look at a dancer’s foot, and guess the size. They’ve always been right! They aren’t just selling shoes— they’re preparing dancers’ feet for training and performance.

The lady working there was amazing. 🤩 I have a very narrow foot and she new exactly what size and shoe to get for me and I didn’t even tell her my size or anything. She was also very nice and friendly and helped us out a lot. I would highly recommend this store to shop at!!

Poor customer service and overpriced. Bronis treated me and my daughters rudely. My daughter commented the shoe was uncomfortable. Bronis barked at her (9-year-old) that it wasn’t. I asked to try a larger size, which she hesitantly obliged, and it was a better fit. Then I found that Bronis chose the most expensive shoe and asked for alternate options. When I told her I wouldn’t be purchasing the shoe, she wouldn’t work to size my other daughter. We left immediately and went to a nearby store where the same shoe was $10 less.

Friendly, fast, and knowledgeable service; couldnt have asked for a better experience. They had a ton of darling dance outfits and shoes for toddlers and kids.

My daughter got fitted for pointe shoes at another business and they just hurt her so bad. 2 teachers told her her her straps were sewn in the wrong spot. We just went to dance shop on 10/5/19 and the woman who helped us knew the problem. My daughter has a very small heel but large ball. Our pedicure guy Is the only one who has ever made a comment about this. Until we went in to the Dance shop. The first thing out of her mouth was your daughter has a small heel and the shoes will not hold her heel the way they should. The shoes we were also previously sold were too big. She now has the perfect pair. The thing that strikes me about this place was the knowledge of the owners. They knew exactly what program my daughter was in base solely on our needs. Further, they were very kind and welcoming. A wonderful place to pick up what you need for dance.

I am beyond satisfied!!!! The lady who fitted me for my first pair of pointe shoes knew a ton about dance shoes!! And listened to my opinions on how the pointe shoes felt!! I came in right before closing and she held her store open for me even know it was well past closing time, I highly recommend this shop!! She is swift,Kind,Listens,And has great customer service!!

Unfortunately my daughter and I did not have a pleasurable experience with the owner of this store. She lacked patience and had a very nonchalant and rude demeanor. Instead of just simply answering the questions that I had she gave witty sarcastic responses. She’s not a people’s person at all and is not customer friendly or even kid friendly for that matter. Even my daughter stated that she didn’t think the woman was very nice or friendly. I will not be returning to this company in the future.

I love going to the dance shop. While I do understand how people may get the impression of rudeness, I didnt get that impression. I love that my 7 year old can go in there and come out with a pair of dance shoes (or 2) that she loves and that I know fit exactly as they are meant to because the owner ? I guess? took the time to fit them to her and have her do some dance movements to ensure that the shoes are properly fitted. I go back every time we need any dance things....tights, shoes, whatever. I always feel like I am getting quality service.

My daughter and I went to the Dance Shop this morning and had a wonderful experience. The lady in the store was very polite and did a great job working with my daughter to find the perfect size shoes. She also asked my daughter what her favorite color was when we went to look at leotards. She was extremely knowledgable, but not pompous at all. I was impressed she didnt show us the most expensive leotard she had and that she helped me find tights that were on sale. The prices are reasonable and her expertise and kindness are refreshing. I will definitely go back!

I love this place, the people there are kind, helpful, and they know every they need to know about dance. The selection here is great and it’s very pleasant to the eye inside which is something that a lot of people like for stores.

I emailed this business with a few questions. Living 2 hours south of KC, I wanted to know that they carried the tap shoes I needed before driving up. Got a quick short response that basically told me I could stop in to see what they have. I replied with one more question and got no response whatsoever. Reading other reviews, I called Degage Dancewear in Independence. They were very helpful and took time to properly fit me in their shop today. This company (The Dance Shop) lost my business by not taking a couple extra minutes to answer my questions.

Love shopping here! Roman and Bronis know the shoes and do a wonderful job matching feet with shoes. I buy all my pointe shoes here, and have for years.

Never again. My husband said he wasnt making a purchase today but will in a couple of weeks. They immediately became rude and stand offish and went to the back room. We are very difficult to fit (larger than average shoe sizes) but nevertheless do not compromise fit and tolerable discomfort.So sorry to have troubled them with a possible future sale and/or special order. We will not disturb these people again. There are others more than happy to make a sale or place a special order. I will deter our large footed friends from shopping there.

Awesome personal service. I am a nanny who was asked to buy leotards, tights, and leather ballet slippers for our little 3 year olds first dance class. It was very spur of the moment and I had a small baby with me. An attractive blonde Russian lady greeted me at the door. She helped me find everything we needed. I was in and out of the store in less than 5 minutes. Im not sure what the complaints are about? Maybe because the shopkeeper wasnt bubbly and fake? She was pleasant, knowledgeable, and handpicked the basics without trying to upsell me. My boss and I will be back!!!! Thank you nice lady!! Nanny Nancy😁

I came here to ask about major discomfort in my first pair of pointe shoes and difficulty finding the right ballet flats. The man working knew instantly what to do with the pointe shoes and what flats would be best. Very tidy and reasonably priced store.

They do not fit for pointe shoes correctly. Gave my dancer two pairs of shoes and told her to pick. Stick with other stores.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I just went in to the store today, and the lady was so rude I told my mother. She said the lady was so rude to her 14 YEARS AGO that she still remembers how much she hates this place! You should only go if to harass the mean old Russian lady. She told me we dont need customers like you when I said she wouldnt get many customers with her bad attitude.
