Drove there a Saturday at 2pm and nobody opened the door. Entrance sign says open Saturday from 10am to 5 pm. I looked for other sign that said we are out for the day or at the range but nothing. Ill not drive there before calling before making sure someone is at the store. After reading other comments it looks is not the first time. Sigh. Update : owner reached out and apologized. Im changing my review because of that. Is a mom and pop shop and I understand if they need to leave the store. Ill deff reach out in the future to do business with them. Ill call ahead though.

Purchased a firearm online and selected Universal Weapons for their FFA to do the transfer to me. Called them to confirm and was put on hold. I could hear the guy was busy but ended up being on hold over 18 minutes. Clearly the guy forgot about me but when he realized I was still holding he just hung up on me. Really? So I called right back and I called him out on it. Bro, I was waiting patiently on hold for 18 minutes then you just hang up on me? He didnt even apologize. He then proceeded to give me attitude. Luckily I was able to switch the FFA to another shop so I didnt have to do business with these people. Horrible customer service. I do not recommend this place as they obviously have alot to learn. On a happy note, I was able to pick up my firearm today from another shop and that went very smoothly.

My wife and I got our concealed carry permit with Frank and had a great experience. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail. We look forward to going back for more shooting lessons. Thank you so much.

Dont bother driving all the way down there. Door is locked, and no one answered during their stated open hours. Wasted my lunch break.Update due to owner response: You are right, I did not see a sign on the door.... thats why I drove down there! I also did not see a sign on the door when I got there. I can see by several other posts you have done this several times, then act like its the customers fault! I would have come up with something better like, Sorry dude, my guy called off sick and I could not get down there.I was just a little aggravated at the time, would have probably come back later, and changed my post. Now I will never come in. In fact I cant wait to tell my bud and show him your response!!!

3/28/2019- review update/addition: just got a call from Frank, who mentioned that the transfer fee should have not been applied to this transaction as the purchase was from their website directly and he offered a refund! Now you dont see that every day, that was a top notch move. Frank just made me a loyal, lifelong customer! Thanks for your honesty! 5 stars!Just got my pt111 G2C today and everything was straight to the point which I like. I was only a bit surprised at the transfer fee since i got it from the businesswebsite(i know there is a transfer fee when you purchase from another dealer online or out of state)and wasnt expecting that charge but aside from that, i would definitely recommend the place.

The new owners are cool people. makes you feel like family when purchasing a weapon with them. They are very knowledgeable on their inventory. Great pricing on ammo and weapons. I would recommend anyone to purchase a weapon from them.

Purchased a firearm through Frank. Overall experience went great, he helped facilitate what was needed in a low pressure atmosphere. However, after the purchase arrived and I received the firearm, I noticed the weapon did not have the sights I ordered.He reassured that they would be on the next delivery, about a week later. Fast forward to now, five weeks and about four phone calls all ending with “they will be here tomorrow” or the last one before I gave up “they will be here today, I’ll call you”.Update: Frank reached out and apologized for the whole situation. He upgraded the sights to another brand at no charge.I appreciate the effort to make it right, that means a lot, especially these days. Thank you.

I have bought multiple guns from Frank and just recently got a custom made rifle from him. By far the best gun shop Ive been to. Top notch customer service! He answered my questions and took his own time to look stuff up for me to find me the best deal. Im never going anywhere else for anything weapon related. I would recommend this shop to all my coworkers and friends. If you are looking to buy a gun or need a CCW class then do yourself a favor and contact Frank.

I can honestly say these folks are very helpful. This is under new ownership and the owners rock. They make the gun buy experience easy and helpful. I would recommend anyone who is either a new gun owner or old one to stop by and give them a SHOT!!! LOL.

Staff has always been courteous and helpful, much more so than any other shop in Orlando (where youre frequently treated as a second class citizen). Selection is not huge, but the excellent customer service and the speed at which they move was more than enough to make me want to spend my hard earned money here. I understand that ownership has recently changed hands, and the last time I visited, there were more guns and the place looked more put together than it did before. I will continue to shop here.

I advise all veterans and military personnel to check him out.. I purchased a m14a1 EBR from Frank and I purchased a 1911 r1 with crimson trace and on the way to his shop now to talk about building me a weapon..

I purchased my weapon several years ago and received my carry training with excellent service.

If you are looking to get the CHL licence. Dont look any further. This company has an extended course that can train you and your spouse how to react in real life situation. Youll go to an outdoor range where youll have to load/unload your weapon, walk from target to target and more. Thanks Frank for an imaging experience and for taking the fear out of my wife when shooting a weapon. Now she brags about how better shooter she is than me. Lol!

Went here a year or so ago. My brother and I were going to buy from them until the topic of securely encased came up. The bumbling idiots there were trying to tell us its illegal to have a gun in your glove box without a CCW... because state law trumps federal... and they thought securely encased was a federal law... and they were loudly laughing at us...Youd probably rationalize that we were confused and they were trying to talk to us about waiting periods. They werent. It was a mind blowingly depressing experience and Ill opt to go to anywhere else.

I would give this place a 5 if I could! Great customer service, friendly staff and a good selection or firearms. They do in house gunsmithing and duracoating. Got my first ever rifle there and wouldnt change it for anything. The prices are reasonable and did I mention the great staff? They treat you like an old pal even on your first visit. My favorite gun store in the Orlando area! In my opinion the only way they could improve is if they added a range. I pray they do everyday lol. If youre new to guns they will help you like no other, and if youre an avid collector they have some really cool firearms to buy. Either way I suggest checking them out!

Called to find information about a Glock 19 and reload bullets for G license qualification. The guy that answered had no life in his voice, almost seemed as if I was dragging the living life out of him for answering the phone. Hung up

I would give no stars if it were possible. I went there to value a gun to sell knowing what the wholesale price was from four different distributors. For starters, they didnt know what the gun exactly was even though the box was present nor how it exactly fired. After I explained how it worked, they fired it. I have no problem with that but they then proceeded to pull up an incorrect gun and wholesale price for the item. I have been in the industry for over ten years and I know what guns wholesale for. Not to mention that I had the site pulled up on my phone before I went in to conduct buisness. They blatantly lied to me about the guns wholesale price and then attempted or have me sell it privately to one of the employees. Very shady and dishonorable. I would never have done that to ANY customer. The current wholesle price on my item is $816.00 from the distributer he quoted. Not the $550 he quoted me.Avoid this place to all costs.

UPDATE(2nd post): BAD BUSINESS ETHICSSo after a long ordeal & having my concerns disrespected by Hector, (and posting a review) I was contacted by the owner Frank. Frank reassured me that he was dealing with me directly, he told me a brief summary of where we were and why. Something to do with the website and distributor, but he made an unsolicited offer to fix the problem himself by going directly to the distributor even if it cost me money, his exact words. He voluntarily gave me a date that I will be able to get my purchase, feeling reassured about the interaction I told Frank thank you & that I will still look to them to make my next purchase directly in store,(even though they only have like maybe 10 items in store) and erase/change my negative review. Well the day before the date Mr.Frank set for me to pick up my item, Mr.Frank calls me & trys to shake me down for a few extra coins.. After displaying that he was lying & trying to avoid doing what he said he would do & swindle me out of more money, I decided to end all business with universal weapons & their shady business practices, & demanded a full refund.. I paid exactly what was requested of me to pay, its not now or EVER the consumers fault for poor business alliance/choices. Frank said that he would pay the difference as proper business ethics demand. after seeing that Mr. Frank was willing to go against his word as a man & business owner, & chose to let a few extra dollars cost him literally THOUSANDS of dollars was proof enough that any future endeavors would get the same unethical results from Mr. Frank & Universal weapons as a staff & company.....Should be the end of srory right?? WRONG!! After I thought I seen the worst business/good faith practices in my lifetime I was asked by a very sweet young lady (Debbie) for my security code for my credit card. YES SERIOUSLY!!! all this could have been avoided by simply having proper business ethics.. If up front they would have told me that they are having issues with the website, it would have been NO BIG DEAL for me to purchase something in store(out of the very limited supply).. But after the disrespect they showed for my time, my money, my patience, and most importantly my intelligence has brought me BACK here to make COMPLAINTS, instead of BACK to their store to make a PURCHASE.. I still could have been a loyal customer, but instead they chose to drag their heels, lie, not except responsibility, & stick the customer with their own short comings. This is why I will never shop with Universal weapons & I highly recommend you dont either.(SideNote: After reneging on their part of the purchase, they tried to keep the 10 bucks I paid for the federal background check)FALSE ADVERTISEMENT(1st post) False advertising at its finest with Universal weapons Orlando!! I researched heavily on an item I wanted to buy off of their website. The website says it takes 3-10 business days for your order to be shipped and picked up in store. The website says that there is a tracking # attached to my order, & that I should contact universal weapons to get that tracking #, or ANY OTHER QUESTIONS I may have.. Its been over 2weeks, I have not received my purchase. When I call I get the Its out of our hands type of response. When I ask about a routing/tracking # for my purchase and they act like they never had the ability to do so. So now Im sitting here feeling like Ive just been robbed of my hard earned money.. Sad thing is they are nice people, & I was planning on using them & their website for ALL my needs. Not so much anymore..

I ordered something that got shipped to this location and they charge me 50 dollars to do a background check which is outrageous when I couldve got it shipped to Oakridge gun range they would have only charged me 7 dollars I would never recommend anybody going hear. there total rip offs on everything

If i could give zero i would i went to the store and a sign said be back in 30 mins the fedex guy was there at 210 I arrived at 245 and waiting for 330 and still nothing really not a way to do business

Worst customer service. I cant tell you how many times I called the store and no one would pick up. Also I cant the store twice making sure the closing time so that they didnt close before I could get there and the person in the store didnt tell me the right time so I showed up 10 minutes after they closed after driving 45 minutes to get there.
