I originally gave zero stars because I was unfortunately caught with some poor management issues. There has been some recent management changes and the effort to correct old issues has been tremendous. The communication and customer service has been light years ahead of where it was last month, now that new management is in place. I know they have a lot to clean up over the coming months from previous management but if the customer service stays on this path I plan on doing my additional courses there. And my son’s certification as well.

I have got my PADI certification through this store. I can say that its been a long ride with them since they are disorganize and dont follow up or provide information they way they should, so dont expect everything to be laid out for you for any upcoming event, you will have to keep pinging them until they provide you information. It took 2 months after I passed my confined water test until I got a chance to take the open water test, thanks to patience and following up with them several times. It took several more months for them to process the certification until I got it in my hands, also had to reach over numerous times to get them going. This place will get you through but needs to improve their organization a lot to offer you a good customer service. Also, I have to say only great words to Justin, excellent instructor.

I got certified for open water here. The instructors will guide you to pass. As long as you can swim well, it is not too hard. Great service and the rentals are cheap. They are a family owned business with great service and care.

This is a great SCUBA store! When you first walk in you understand this is a a bunch of guys who opened the place because they love the sport and want others to experience the same joy, they are not just in it for the money. When you ask for recommendations on gear they do not automatically go to the most expensive they find out what you are looking to accomplish and go from there. I plan to keep coming back and show my support for local businesses!

These guys are great their love of scuba is contiguous. They taught my 10 year old daughter to scuba dive and have been there for support of any questions that have come up. If you want a new challenge in life, looking for a home dive shop, or looking to fellow dive experiences, this is a wonderful place to get your scuba on because All Dives Matter.

This place has a great selection of dive gear and Spear fishing equipment. I know what most items should cost so I can say the pricing is fair. The last time I was there the customer service was pretty good. I asked a lot of questions and the employee had answers to all of them.Over all this is the place to go for SCUBA and Spearfishing equipment if youre in the Orange, Anaheim, or even Corona.

We dropped off over $5,000 in scuba equipment to be serviced in July 2018. After months and months of calling and in store visits (and the run-around; we are working on it) we have written a demand letter to return our equipment and they have not responded. Off to small claims court we go. We have been completely ignored.

OC Scuba lost my Suunto D6i $1200 computer. I dropped it off fall of 18 to get a battery replaced and checked back every month. I have been getting the run-around since. I hate leaving bad reviews but OC Scuba earned it. Learn how to dive somewhere else and take your gear to a place that handles your gear with care

DO NOT even consider going anywhere else! This place is awesome!Best place to buy gear because of price and knowledge of equipment. Speak to Chris (one of the owners) when you go. He will not only make sure you have the lowest price, but he will counsel you on the gear to buy. He is funny. He has no problem holding back his honest opinion about gear that he has (good or bad). He will make sure you get the right equipment for you... without a doubt.Best place for training and certification... My wife, myself and our two children (ages 13 and 14) are currently in the process of getting our Open Water certification. Again, ask for Chris. He is awesome. My kids (and us) really didnt now what to expect. After we completed our study material we showed up at their location for pool training. Chris spent the first 2.5 hours going over things like pre-dive check, putting the dive kit together and more. He was cracking us up. He is a very funny guy. The kids were laughing and learning at the same time. Our kids later kept talking about how funny Chris was. The amazing thing was that we all learned quickly and retained pretty much everything Chris said. NOTE: Chris is also a school teacher and is used to working with kids. It shows! We then spent almost 6 hours in the pool. Chris provided awesome instruction. I was surprised how well we all did with some of the exercises, also due to Chris teaching style. Chris is a very nice guy and its hard to keep from laughing a lot. Were still trying to remember some of his funny analogies and comments. Its ok, we told Chris we were going to steal some of them to use later. We are all looking forward to our upcoming ocean dives at Catalina. Chris is going to the island with us. We also plan to purchase more equipment from Chris. If you are considering everything that we were concerned about when looking for a good dive source... price, product knowledge, diving expertise, friendliness and instruction ability... DO NOT go anywhere else.

I took the PADI Open Water certification from OC Scuba Center in August 2018. PADI training stresses that you alone are responsible for your safety, and that the goal of open water training is to develop the skills needed to dive independently in the conditions you were trained in. The Open Water training provided by this shop did not help me develop the skills necessary to dive, and further, the best thing I could have done for my safety is stay away from this shop. Why? There were failures to follow PADI standards from beginning to end in training. The instructor manual for PADI open water can be found by a search on your favorite website. It clearly states that the following must be done:There should be five confined water dives. We did 1.There should be four open water dives. We did 2.We did not perform the following skills in open water dives: cramp release; inflatable signal tube use; straight line surface swim with compass; remove and replace weight system; emergency weight drop; compass navigation; and trim and buoyancy check. That means 6 out of 9 open water skills WERE NOT DONE.We never did any planning, and did not learn how to use a Recreational Dive Planner on any of our dives. Some people did not have a functional computer. Combined, THIS CAN BE DEADLY, as you have no idea what your no decompression limits are.Crucially, the lack of sufficient guided experience underwater makes this class fail in its responsibility to produce even the most basic of entry level divers. Simply put, 1 confined and 2 open water dives is not sufficient for one to feel comfortable in the water. PADI knows this, and thats why 5 confined and 4 open water dives are required. While the training itself was inadequate, other behaviors on the part of the shop were unacceptable.First, the shop was extremely disorganized. There was poor communication from start to finish. No communication was sent out prior to the first class. Nothing about where to meet, when to meet, what the schedule would be like, nothing. I had to call to figure out what was happening, and at first they said that an email would come. No email ever came. Further, all communication was done via texting. Not only is this unprofessional, only a limited amount of information can be transmitted in a short text message. As a result of poor communication and poor planning, students were rushed to buy our tickets on the Catalina Express, resulting in some of the class not being able to get the tickets for the date of our dive. We were told to buy tickets less than a week out during peak season. There were simply not enough spots available on the boat during that time. Further, our instructor hurt himself before the scheduled open water dives, resulting in confusion as to whether the class would occur at all, or if the class was rescheduled. Ultimately, the class was rescheduled, and we had the same issues booking tickets on the Catalina Express because of poor communication from the instructor and waiting until the last minute to plan our dives.Another sign of disorganization was the lack of communication between staff members, and the lack of certainty about costs. Because I chose to do the open water dives in Catalina, there was an additional ~$50 to pay for the instructors fare. This was not mentioned or outlined prior, and when I paid it to the shop counter, they were confused as to what it was for.Another thing to note was that rental equipment was in poor condition. Some rubber on my regulator was cracking and needs to be replaced, and some rental computers dont even work.In SCUBA diving, you are surviving on life support equipment, and there is no guarantee anyone else can help you. If you are willing to safe a few dollars and get training that is not up to PADI standards, which your life may depend on, then you have come to the right place. For the rest of you who may look at the cheap price and spectacular reviews and think youre going to get adequate training, then let me dispel all illusions of that and say find another shop.

One of the worst buying experience i ever had. I bought a $600 BCD from these guys at the Long Beach Scuba show. They were supposed to ship it to me during the following week. After five weeks of waiting and numerous phone calls I got fed up with the empty promises and lies. The BCD has never showed up at my doorstep. I went ahead and canceled the charge with my credit card company. I would never buy anything from OC Scuba Center in the future , they lost all my respect and trust. You better stay away too. These guys dont deserve to be in business!!!

First let me say OC Scuba Center is a great place with a great staff and instructors who all are very knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend anyone who wants to scuba dive to go threw them! Chris and Mike both helped us pick out which scuba gear was right for us! We did our pool water dive with Dean who did a wonderful job of being patient with me and my boyfriend. We did one of our open water dives in Laguna with both the Jessies. Both were great and wonderful as well. Big thanks to (mex) Jessie for being extremely patient with me and helping me get threw my panic of going down, he helped me relax and stay calm. He was very patient and understanding. For our last dives we went to Catalina with Chris. He was very friendly and all around a great guy. While underwater my snorkel became tangled into my regulator tube nearly yanking my regulator out of my mouth. I was unable to get it untangled myself but thankfully Chris was quick notice and came to aid me. He was quick to help and made sure I was okay to continue our dive. Another awesome thing about this is all the other Dive Instructors came along as well, including Chris, Mike, Both Jesses and Dean! After our dives Chris and all the instructors took us and our group on a island tour which was amazing. He showed us all these beautiful and scenic views. He also showed us a great place to get margaritas and a great place to have lunch. Everyone that is part of the OC Scuba Center treats you like family. We will continue to dive with OC Scuba Center! Thank you!
