Lots of variety in the store between Marvel and DC superheroes/supervillains. There is also lots of other genres such as mysteries and thrillers. At Danger room comics they make sure to stay up to date with the different comics that are currently coming. After purchasing a comic they offer you a board and plastic sleeve to make sure it stays in mint condition. For me specifically I was able to find what I was looking for in DC’s Infinite Frontier #2.

This place is great! Staff are always friendly and helpful. They have all major comics, independents, political and social issue comics, and even collectible Marvel, He-man and GI Joe figures. Something for everyone! Definitely worth a stop when in the area!

The best aspect of this place is that they sell bundled collections of comic book titles. This allows you get caught up and at good prices! I went to another store and asked if they had bundled packages and the answer was, “We don’t sell bundled collections.” It was practically criticism of DangerRoom. I don’t like it when a retailer or service bad mouths others. I will be shopping from Danger Room from now on.

I used to like this place. I’ve bought a lot of books from here. But after getting chased out for not wearing a mask, I’ll never go back there- EVER! Good luck ✌️

Even though I dont live in Olympia anymore, I stopped by while I was in town.I grew up here and in my early teens, I would come to Danger Room comics. Ive been a customer for a little while now. Casey and Frank always have my file of subscriptions ready while I peek around. I subscribe to the normal super hero stuff, but I really like to grab an interesting horror or sci fi book and every time I ask hey what do you think about this? I feel they give me an honest opinion. Even if they didnt care for it and it might not be their gig they dont BS to try and make a sale. Their honesty has definitely turned me toward some good books I otherwise would have never considered and also avoided some books that have an interesting cover but a so-so story. My advise: Talk to them! They WILL get you what you interests require. Really solid store.

The staff is AMAZING. A+ for knowledge and service! We walked in late one night looking for a game to take to a family holiday get together. We needed something easy, fast, and where the 1-2 people that would do random and unreasonable moves wouldnt be able to ruin the whole game. The man on duty clearly knew the available games inside and out and made wonderful suggestions - we ended up buying two! And we walked away with some more ideas for things we could look for later.

Great comic book shop. Right size with all you need but not souch you get lost. Fantastic owners that really know their stock and get to know their customers. Ask for a recommendation! Great layout for the comics, with separation by genre. Also have a great stock of boardgames. I have been buying here for years.

Ive been going here for years and love this place! There store is small, but clean, bright, and not cramped (that they can fit superhero comics, a huge indie comic section and board games comfortably into a small space is impressive). I especially appreciate that the staff here do a really good job of getting to know you so they can provide good recommendations. They have turned me on to a few great comics and board games, and everything that they have recommended for my wife she has loved (they have a good kid-appropriate section, too, that Im looking forward to introducing my son to in a couple of years). If are interested in comics or games but think of comics shops as scruffy, unfriendly places, you should do yourself a favor and check this place out.

I walked in and got lost in genre. There were so many intriguing options. So many classics. Stuff I wanted to buy for my step nephews but for myself, even though I had no idea what I was looking at. Then I realized they are 5 and theyd shed $30 worth of comics in about 30 seconds. The guys that were working were nice and offered to help me find what I was looking for. If only I knew... Im thinking about the Batman first editions collection. Or maybe the Dredd files...

The best comic book store Ive ever been to! Theres something for every comics fan, not just superhero stuff. Theres a pretty wide selection of independent stuff and kid-friendly titles, as well as a few shelves for local zines. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Olympia has a rich comics culture, and Danger Room is highly reflective of that.

An amazing comic book shop, with titles ranging from superheroes to indie to a really well thought out kids section. Truly something for everyone here. And the staff are extremely gracious and helpful, always eager and happy to answer questions or made suggestions. I recommend them highly to both long time comics fans and newbies alike!

As an educator, I love to go to DangerRoom to get books for my reluctant readers. I dont read comics myself, so I never know what books are out there. I just describe my student to Frank or Casey, and they are able to pick just the right thing. They have historical fiction comics, too, which is a great way to introduce a reluctant reader to a history lesson. They also sell dice for MUCH cheaper than the teacher store - and in better colors, too.

Ive been going to Danger Room off and on for around 20 years now. They have a good selection of comics and games, as well as a knowledgeable staff. They are very helpful in finding comics, and also gave me a good price when I traded in a big pile of my old comics.

This place is like a gem stone of righteousness in the midst of a bland landscape, if righteousness was a wide selection of comics (aka graphic novels) and if Olympia were a bland landscape. I recommend coming here with a desire to wonder and leaving with three or four books.

Extremely rude staff. They will kick you out of the store if they disagree with your political standpoint. If you want comics go to Olympic Cards and Comics in Lacey or any other store in the Puget Sound area.

It is a smaller comic venue than I am accustomed too but they are a definite go to store for your underground comics and graphic novels. Located in downtown Oly they are ideally located to satisfy all your comic needs in one of the hippest areas of the PacNW. Parking is always an issue downtown so plan accordingly.

Small. Limited inventory. Prices somewhat overpriced. Staff didnt interact or offer any suggestion, sales or promote the place in any way.Was nice they were open later than other shops in the area. Within walking distance from the Governers hotel where we stayed.

Best service in Olympia Washington. Casey went above and beyond to make the experience hospitable, welcoming and a safe place to be yourself while looking at some good old comics.

This is my favorite, regular source for comics and graphic novels in the region. I love the customer service, variety and touchstone provided here, and I encourage everyone to go and experience it!

Extremely helpful service with people who obviously love their job, and a very unique set of comics! This store is one that sells cards against humanity for $25 instead of the $40+. Got very good reccomendations from one of the workers, and have been hooked on series I never wouldve read otherwise.

Danger Room - a true Oly original. Now in its third decade, its the living room comics fans wish they had. Convivial, knowlegeable, and just plain fun, DR is the handy one-stop for all... its where the fans and heroes meetn greet!

Awesome little shop that I drove by way too many times. Several days ago I finally went in to check it out, while in search of a bit more of a taste of a comic Id read in CLiNT awhile back.I admit that when I walk into a store and am offered help, typically I reply that I dont need any. As soon as I walked in, I noticed some of the kids selections. I look around the store, notice the huge assortment of Marvel and other brand comics (that honestly have never really held much appeal for me). I browse over the more modern not-really-comic-book comic books, see books meant for an assortment of readers, but still cant find what Im looking for. Heck, I couldnt really find anything remotely like what I was looking for. To be fair, I was looking for something a bit more adult, so maybe it just wasnt in plain sight in a store that sells kids books?Eventually I caved and approached the associate. He knew right away what comic I was looking for! He brought me to the shelf. Nope, sold out, not there. Okay, check on the computer. Its out of print! Nooooo!!! Wait... They reprinted it! Its only $8! It will be here Thursday!While he was at it, he asked me about my comic-viewing preferences and made a few more suggestions based upon what I said I like. The Pro, not really a fan of super hero comics, and, I like Chuck Palahniuk, if that helps. I managed to walk out of the store with something that day, plus he managed to track down what I was looking for.All in all, a good trip to a great store. I wish Id thought to actually stop and come in sooner!
