I had a brownie sundae with two scoops of ice cream and it was very good! I found the honey gram crackers ice cream to be particularly amazing. Only thing that kept this from being a full five start experience is that they didn’t have a brownie and replaced it with a cookie that they warmed up. But the cookie was fried to the paper plate and they didn’t really do anything for the inconvenience.

Soo.. first time coming here was with my son. We tried the Malty Mill Chocolate, and it was real good. Perfect cool down on a hot Oakland day.Today, I went again with my boyfriend. We shared the Secret Smores Sundae... amazing! Tasted great!

I gotta agree with Jason and Will. Every time I’ve been here the woman who serves has been rude and not interested in customer satisfaction. I have also left without buying. And guys, what is it with Secret Breakfast? The cornflakes are balled up into little hard tasteless kernels. Not a pleasant texture in ice cream. Just pour your own bourbon on some ice cream! :-)

I love ice cream, and have been to Humphry Slocombe many times. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes just ok. It’s never been great.The flavors are inventive and bold, the the texture is often more icey than creamy, like the bag ice cream you make as a science experiment in elementary school. Pints typically fare better than scoops. The Secret Breakfast is my recommendation, it really is something special and is always available.This is a great place to go if you are stopping by, but don’t make your plans around Humphry Slocombe.

My friends and I stopped here after brunch at Drake’s Dealership. I love that they repurposed a shipping container. They serve season and their classic flavors here! My go-to is their Secret Breakfast, but I tasted some of their other flavors and went with the Harvey Milk & Honey Graham. They also have a couple tables set outside to sit.

Great mini branch of the famed ice cream from SF - about 5 minutes walk from 19th St Bart station, its located in The Hive group of business that include a cool hair salon and great restaurants and cafes there and along this part of Uptown Oakland.Staff is friendly and helpful, ice cream costs more but scoops are generous and ingredients are premium level stuff. Its a treat :)

Welp. I wouldve liked to have bought ice cream from here, but the woman working was not very friendly. I asked for a sample, and she said Were not serving samples , I said ok, so... Im just gonna have to (pause), and she finished my sentence Just buy some ice cream with a curt response, and walked away. Um, I guess so. But maybe not. Not when you had your music blaring, werent available after we yelled for help a few times, and you came out annoyed and showed no friendly customer service. I wouldve liked to bought something after I paid for parking, but it doesnt seem like she wanted to be there, or provide customer service.

Running a disingenuous promo that they have no intention of fulfilling. In addition, no samples and no waffle cones available. Would be okay if the service was at least somewhat apologetic, but alas.

Yay! Been on ice cream and gelato mode since spring kicked in!I have always seen this place when heading to Drakes but had never stopped to try their flavors. I was randomly in the area on Monday (picking up bread from Firebrand nearby) and decided to try it out - so glad I did :)I had a single scoop of Milk Chocolate (I really wish they had dark though) in a cup and loved it. It was rich and delicious. Probably should have shared it as it was a very big scoop - cant believe some people think this is a small scoop :O . Compared to Lush gelato and Firenze gelato this was pretty big! I mean, its not a meal, its dessert - hello!!!Would definitely return to try out other flavors ;)

I got the vanilla and charcoal ice cream...I call it the black and white...such a great mix!! This area is adorable!!!!!

Ive been going here for some time now, but it was only recently that id started to take away their goods for home consumption. In doing so, ive discovered a new favorite: ICE CREAM SANDWICHES. The strawberry ice cream between shortbread cookies is something special. They have other options here and there. But, im sorry to say to others, we now buy at least 3-5 every time we stop by to pop a couple into the freezer for later consumption.

Okay, this needs to be said. Bacon, beets, carrots and cheese and almost all these flavors are foods, not ice cream. Why did you have to screw up ice cream? If you want to be fancy and have all these foods as ice creams at least have traditional flavors. Gosh

Very good ice cream. Medium fat, natural ingredients. 1 cone is $5.00 and worth it. For large containers I prefer the grocery store which has high end ice cream like Tillamook and Haagen Daz for good prices!

Great spot for a quick ice cream stop and lots of different flavors to choose from

Creamy, creative, and intense-flavored ice cream with new and interesting selection of ice cream and toppings like corn or “government cheese” for ice cream flavors and olive oil and sea salt for toppings. Although the flavors is intense, they are never too sweet. At this location, you can get a scoop or buy a pint for to-go. This is the best ice cream in the Bay Area, in my opinion.

Are you being served? whatever ice-cream i choose here is delicious. i make a special trek just for secret breakfast. but it breaks my heart that there is little continuity in what is available. it is hard to tell what is seasonal and what you can always expect to have. the scoops are pricey and small and, much like the british comedy of its namesake, the staff is rarely happy to serve you.

4 stars = I would come here regularly/I would recommend this placegreat quality ice cream, small-ish selection of interesting flavors, ice cream with rich flavor and nice texture. we tried malted milk chocolate and harvey milk + honey graham. the chocolate had a rich deep chocolate flavor with light malt flavor, nice smooth texture; the milk/graham tasted like good quality milk with a balanced honey taste, not overpowering like some honey flavors Ive had, the graham provided a soft cookie texture.

The smore Sunday is amazing and if you dont try it, you are insane. Great changing flavors and great location.

I was prepared to be underwhelmed by Humphry Slocombe because theres a lot of hype here...happily my doubts were obliterated. This is adult ice cream at its very best. The Secret Cereal ice cream isnt at all what I thought it would be...and it was delicious.I had the Secret Smore Sundae. It featured that ice cream, a coating of graham cracker crumbs, hot fudge and a roasted marshmallow smashed on the top. How this confection replicated a Smore so closely, I have no idea. But it was truly, magically, delicious.My husband had the Dark Chocolate and Salt and a scoop of Harvey Milk & Honey Graham. He enjoyed the not too sweetness of the treat.This is a food truck in a courtyard - there is plenty of seating. Street parking here is tough though.

Creamy & flavorful. Try the range, from everyones favorite Secret Breakfast to POG Sorbet. Or Firebrand - pretzels & caramel, named after the bakery down the street. Wished their Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee flavor was stronger, but you cant go wrong with most flavors here.

Ice cream that costs4.50 for a scoop should not have ice crystals throughout it. Its not even subpar.

The Ice cream was great. I had a burbon coke float with secret breakfast ice cream. Its was a little pricey at $8.50 +tax but they did give me a 10% discount bcuz I work down the block. I am looking forward to going back n trying their ice cream straight up.. or maybe even one of the sundaes... Real soon. Ill try to remember to update my review then... meanwhile try it yourself!!!!

Love their Hong Kong Milk Tea Icecream

I love unusual ice cream flavors. I went here with a friend and we got Pimms and Cream and Candy Cap Chocolate Chip and both were delicious. The Pimms was a bit over sweet for me but it doesnt feel fair to complain about that for icecream. I also enjoyed that it was a little walk-up stand and that it is open until midnight. I miss Ici, which it seems to have replaced in Berkeley, but I enjoy that it offers flavors that are almost as interesting, suprising, and well thought out.

Humphry Slocombe Oakland has officially open and today August 27, its free scoop in a cup throughout the day. All flavors in freezer case are available with the exception of Matchadodle. You can create your own float simply by getting a scoop of vanilla and pay $4 at Drakes booth for a beer of choice (dark beer is preferred). For me, its nothing new. Im live in SF and Ive been hook since secret breakfast days. All proceeds goes to open-hand project. DJ and queer queens provide entertainment. #LICKTHAT spell out in mylar balloons for Snapchat and other social media. Lines do get longer by the minute and I suggest bring some friends. Enjoy!

The ice creams were very rich, of very good quality and delicious and original flavors. Good size balls, I even think they have sizes for children. In addition, the girl took great care of us and we were able to try whatever we wanted. There was not the flavor that I craved the most but it was rich anyway. Ne found that most of the flavors were rich but very sweet. And I think the experience would have been much better if the tables had shade, it was terribly hot and there was nowhere to stand.
