This place is a miracle! my transmission was slipping, gears were grinding and stalling at every stop light, I barely made it to the shop! Kareem was very helpful and eager to work with me in getting my transmission rebuilt. they offer a loan option through American First Finance if you are struggling financially. Bad credit, no problem! low monthly payments, yes! Kareem gave me some pointers in transmission maintenance and even shared his love for Off Roading and gave some advice and tips for some great trails to take my Jeep Wrangler to. my Jeep runs great! its got a kick to it that wasnt there before I took it in the shop, Kareem is very kind and cares about all of his customers, Im very lucky to have found this place, its the best!

I couldn’t recommend this shop more. After getting the run around from Pep Boys regarding a failed attempt at fixing my clutch, Kareem and his team got a proper diagnosis and got my car back to me in a couple of days. I couldn’t be more happy about how this all turned out.

Guys are great, rebuilt my transmission, runs great and did it quick. Called them back months later to get my invoice reprinted when i sold the car and the owner took extra time and care to get it to me, polite, gracious, no hassle. Reccomended for sure.

Not very knowledgeable, and extremely high in prices. If youre not knowledgeable about whats wrong with your car they will take advantage of you. I had a diagnosis done before going there, which I was told was my solenoid pressure gear switch. When I went to AAMCO I had to pay for another diagnosis for 189.00. The shop owner called me and told me I needed a new transmission, I explained to him the problem wasnt because I needed a new transmission. I told the owner I would be there to pick my car up, my car was worse than when I left it. I do not recommend going there.

This place was very helpful for me. I didn’t even have to pay the full amount right away and they still were able to provide services. I highly recommend this place for auto repairs.

Man running the show isnt a knowledgeable mechanic & wasted my time with a song & dance routine. He should know better. Didnt even test the transmission himself. Other places knew what to do right away & quoted a price. What a farce.

They charged me $280 to diagnose the problem, their prices were way higher than what I researched online for fixing the issue my car was having. Not to mention it took them an entire week to figure out the issue. Also when I went to pick up my car today it took almost half an hour! Even though I called them beforehand to let them know I was coming to get it. The only thing I can say is the guy who worked at the front desk and called me was understanding and helpful as well as the polite mechanics.

DO NOT GO, DO NOT TRUST! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!Our car was not turning on so we towed it here. They took all day to diagnose it and then they diagnosed WRONG. Finally they told us it would cost nearly 2k to fix. We checked online and the part only cost $250 and it was an easy instal. We replaced the part on our own turns it was not the problem. It was just a spark plug that they neglected to check. We ended up fixing the car on our own and now it works great. Dont go here. Youre better off anywhere else.

These guys are up front and honest. The other transmission place told me it was going to be $3,300 to fix my transmission. When I drove by it was obvious they never even looked at it and my experience had showed me it didnt need an entire rebuild.So , I took it to AMCO instead. They told me they would start the work and let me know if it didnt need an entire rebuild before starting. The AMCO professionals called and verified it didnt need the entire rebuild which was a fraction of the cost the other transmission company had quoted.

I brought in two vehicles and had transmissions put. Just got my cars back need time to see if everything is ok.

The first place I went to, which was the dealer where I bought my car misdiagnosed the problem and tried to charge me a arm and a leg.AAMCO found the true problem fixed it at a much better price. I bought my car from Richmond ford. I wish I could buy my next car from AAMCO. Their shop my be smaller than the big boys,however I think they care a bit more and pay more attention to detail.I am so glad that I found them. AAMCO is my choice for all of my Auto repair

Came here for a check eng light, customer service was great and my car was repaired with no issue.

The man gave me a phony diagnostic check overcharged me he said I had Mercedes Benz parts in my car 😂 tried to charge me 1000 bucks for the part and service...this particular place is a sham then one in Vallejo is all business.. but how I found out it was a sham was because I took my car to Chrysler dealership and paid for the real problem to be fixed and saved money. Please dont deal with this scammer unless you like giving your money away.

I was looking for a place to get a new transmission or more less my transmission rebuilt I was looking around for about 2 months looking at places and check them out and I actually found out about the AAMCO here in Oakland so I went over and I met Azaria there a great guy. So we set down talked figured out how much it was going to pretty much cost me and how long the work with take and like clockwork I drop my car off a couple of days later and it was ready within the 5 days that he told me it would b. My car has been running great so I love those guys and Im happy I came in. in anytime I know anybody that needs to have the car checked out or worked on I will definitely let him know about AAMCO over here in Oakland and also you know if you guys are worried about having the money right then and there they work with you on that too theyre great.

Had a transmission that was delaying shifting and then shifting with a big clunk. People told me that it was probably coming apart and it could cost me up to $3000. Took it to these great people and they fixed it by reprograming the controls and checking everything out. Cost a little over $300. Very happy. Good people.

Called ahead of time and was told a free care check would take an hr. I bring the car in right after, and end up spending 4 hours at this location. The front desk guy who is apparently the owner did not feel as though my time was important to tell me the wait would be longer and after all of the time I spent there, charged me $105 because he did a transmission diagnostic which I did not ask for. Had to call the AAMCO corp to file a complaint because I was taken advantage of. AAMCO corp is very messy and disorganized. I ended up receiving a refund weeks later. I was cheated out of my time, money, and will never recommend this place.

A friend suggested that I take my truck into their shop. So, before doing that I read some of the comments and afterwards decided to give them a try. Mike was awesome. He listened and seemed to know exactaly what was going on with my truck. I told him that I made a bet with some friends that if I could reach the 300, 000 mile mark that they would buy me a brand new car. Well, so far its been a week and the truck is running pretty good. Based on the customer service and care, I would recommend AAMCO if youre looking for honesty at a reasonable cost. They seem to know how to get it right. Thanks again Mike. Ill be seeing you for all my future car needs.

Book a week in advance go leave your car for several hours for them to be able to read your check engine light... Since its free, they put you on the super backburner... Im sure if I was willing to pay the $80, they would squeeze me in no problem... Terrible

They were nice but it was kind of expensive. I didnt have time to shop around before hand so thats on me, but I guess the warranty is good. Heads up though, they charge a fee of 3.5% if you pay with a credit card, which made me feel like I was being nickled and dimed.

I just called there to inquire about having new windshield wiper blades placed on the car. And I was told that they do not carry windshield wiper blades. So much for Total Car Care. The girl recommended I go to Firestone or OReilly.

The place is a bit rough around the edges, but the crew does great work, they take customer schedules seriously, and from my transmission replacements - I think they offer really fair prices. good stuff

DONT GO HERE! Unless you wish to forever be breaking down unexpectedly on the side of a dark highway and paying to replace every single most expensive item in your car/truck. And whoever said the prices were fair was either lucky or they are just lying. Be suspicious of 5star ratings given by people who have only reviewed them and no other establishments. My husband was stubborn and kept calling me paranoid but yet after spending thousands and thousands of dollars there, his truck is STILL not running well at all, loud screachy, clanky and leaky. Sounds like its ready to die and fluid is leaking out of it. Needless to say he is not calling me paranoid anymore. Entirely unreliable. I honestly believe they damaged it further to incur more repair work in the future. Seriously people, Google Complaints Against Aamco and read on Consumer Reports the THOUSANDS of similar stories from all over the nation including Puerto Rico! Dont believe the commercial hype. While they check it for free trust me they are crafting their story and creating a problem. They NEED to be investigated by the BAR (Bureau Of Automotive Repair). On the bright side...I hear it is easier to sue them now but not sure about that yet as I have not gone through the process personally. Wish me luck!

I went to this place to get my van fix, but they really dont know what they are doing because they suppose to have change my serpentine belt and a tune up, I end up change the serpentine belt again my self and they put a different oil filter that it normaly should have, really I wouldnt recommend this place at all, unsatisfied.

I really had a great experience at the shop in Oakland. I really felt like the team went above and beyond the Call of Duty to get the right parts for my car and get the job done right.

Service was bad, not friendly and said I needed to make an appointment to get air put in the tire. The service was all together horrible.

Gave me wrong price estimate after saying he would guarantee the price than after i let him do the work it took an extra week to get my car back in all i kept getting were excuses.

Don’t go here! They are incompetent rude and will ruin your car then blame you.They rebuilt my transmission then did not thoroughly put my car back together.They left my air hose and air adapter connector disconnected as well as did not tighten the bolts on the pan under the car!
