I went in today to have my camera and lens cleaned and serviced and was fully expecting to have to leave it there but the owner, Scott Nielsen, had the time and took care of it right there while I waited. It didnt take long either. Ive known Scott for over 20 years and he always gives excellent service. He is the only factory trained and certified camera repair guy in the tri-county area. He is also an excellent photographer. He has a huge studio on site and also does events and schools. Scott is the real deal. Hes honest and if for some reason he cannot help you, he will point you in the direction of someone who can. I highly recommend checking out Nielsen Photographic Services for whatever your camera or photographic needs may be.

I was very disappointed with Scott and his “camera repair shop”. I took him 2 lens to repair and he assured me that one of the 2 lenses was easily repairable. And that the other lens might be harder to repair but that he would try his best. I also explained to him that I was willing to pay above what the lenses were worth if I just simply bought them used but in good working condition. I received a call a week later letting me know that both lenses were beyond repair. I went to pick up my lenses and pay his fees of $90 for inspecting the lenses. After checking the lenses myself , it looks like he didn’t even open up the lenses. I feel this was a straight money grab. He doesn’t seem to have the skill to repair lenses, only charge fees for repairs he can’t make.And yet he still suggested I try a camera repair in Sacramento that I might have better luck there.If you can’t repair lenses just say so, don’t waste people’s time and money giving them false promises.I had both of my lenses repaired by Authorized Photo Service in Chicago, and now there like new.

Scott is awesome! I needed some work done to my 6D and 70-200 first gen, which Canon doesn’t even service. To top it off, I needed them back for a wedding a week later. Scott got everything done, my Canon is tack sharp again, and his prices are more than reasonable for a CERTIFIED professional camera repair shop. You have a small fortune invested in your gear. Don’t trust it with anyone else!
