Excellent service at a very reasonable price. Bill not only repaired my crashed computer, he took the time to teach me different ways to access programs which get me around the web MUCH faster! He found old images and music and took the time to download all on a flash drive for us, just in case we hadnt saved everything--all this at no extra charge! My computer crashed big time doing a windows upgrade. Bill restored my computer and upgraded my hard drive. He also installed useful open source applications on my machine. Bill was very easy to talk to, explained things well, and Im very happy with the results. I highly recommend him.

Took my PC here for repairs several months ago and I am still dealing with the fallout. I was having trouble with my Windows crashing so I took it into Novato Computer Service, thinking it was a reputable local establishment. Boy was I wrong.First of all, the owner held onto my computer for over a month. Each week, he would call me telling me another component was fried and needed to be repaired. Fine, I thought, and gave him the benefit of the doubt.So over a month later, I brought home wad was basically a new computer with a $1,500 repair bill. Well, guess what? Windows continued to crash regularly. Even worse, he installed a bunch of extra programs I dont need and customized windows to the extent that I cant even install updates or repair it.In the end, I had to completely wipe my computer, reinstall windows and spend hours undoing the mess he created.Do not trust this place. There are other better and actually more affordable options.

No this was not a mistake, my mother went to your store for an issue with her computer and you tried to install Windows 7 on a computer that was designed to run Windows 10 and could not support Windows 7. Resulting in her losing vast amounts of data for her personal business. I only decided to post because it is now months later and she is still complaining about it.

Some time ago I discovered Novato Computer Service. I did not think at the time I would need his service, but life has a way of presenting things before you know you need them. A short time later my compute had issues. I took it to Bill at Novato Computer. Her repaired my computer. He made it better than it was before, for a reasonable price. Some time later I had an Issue with my computer and I stopped in to ask him what could be the problem. He gave me some things to try, if not then bring it in. I ended up bringing it in to him. within a short time, less than 2 days he had my computer fixed. Best of all NO CHARGE Now that is what I call customer service. If you need computer help I recommend Novato Computer Service. I give him a 12 out of ten.

He likes to fix more than you ask for without asking you in advance. Removed obsolete programs and drivers? Also, when I got home windows 7 start menu overlayed the windows 10 menu, my wireless mouse no longer works, and i had problems connecting the printer/scanner. All these items required time for me to repair. I will probably try someone else.

He told me to come right on in with my problem and I walked out 15 minutes later with a new wireless adapter and everything working fine. The cost was minimal and Bill was very congenial and explained everything. I felt in very competent hands and would highly recommend his business.

Fixed my computer which was slow as molasses. Put a new solid state hard drive in and its now lightening fast! Added programs he anticipated I could use (he was right). Most notably, explained everything to me so I could understand it. Love my new laptop!

My daughter had a slick Mac but wanted a gaming PC. I didnt want to pay a couple thousand dollars for her to play basic online games so I dug out my sons old Alienware PC and took it to Bill. When the hard drive on my computer crashed randomly on a Friday afternoon, I brought my computer to Bill. I was on deadline and needed my computer running ASAP, or I would have to buy a new one. Bill installed a new hard drive for me overnight, saved all my data, and I was able to pick up my computer before lunchtime the next day. If I would have gone straight to the Mac store, I would have been sold a new computer that would have less hard drive space and processing power than the hard drive that Bill installed on my old Macbook Pro. I took my MacBook Pro to the Apple store when my display suddenly stopped working. After trying various things, the Genius Bar told me that he didnt know what was wrong with it and that I had to send it to their offsite location for $475 to get diagnostics, with no guarantee that there wouldnt be additional costs and no guarantee that they wouldnt lose all of my data. I took my laptop in to Bill, expecting the worst. A few days later, he called and told me that he opened it up, found a simple loose wire, fixed it and cleaned the inside of the computer as well. I got my computer back in a week for less than half of the price that the Apple store required, and Bill even cleaned my keyboard and made my monitor the cleanest Ive ever seen! Highly recommend!

It wouldn’t reboot to the desktop. Based on a favorable recommendation I engaged Bill to help resolve the situation.Having worked in the computer industry I am well aware that computers are wonderful when they work, but can be a real pain when they don’t, and can be even more difficult to diagnose and fix. My iMac fell into this category. It took several visits to reach resolution.On each occasion that I visited Bill, he rigorously tested the system after getting it to run properly, I checked it out at the store, everything looked good, I took it home, but the iMac failed to work within a few days—a real head scratcher. After replacing the 10 year-old disk drive with a new solid-state disk drive (no moving parts and much better performance), and making a few internal adjustments, the iMac is now rock solid.
