Jessica, the manager, is top notch! She could train people on how to exceed expectations in customer service. My friend and I enjoyed the experience more than we thought and when I found out my base wasnt covered well enough, Jessica said to bring it back and she helped me touch it up. Great for adults and kids alike. Make reservations a day ahead. They are busy rain or shine!

Jessica is a wonderful artist / leader for diy time. She provided practical, useful, and very helpful advice, without ever appearing overbearing or frustrated. DIY times can be chaotic, but Jessica used her amazing people skills to make sure that everyone was having a great experience. Jessica is a gem of a person. I love the sassy cephalopod that I created. Thank you!

This little shop is super cute and fun! Its more than just a paint shop. Its a creation shop for kids (or adults) to design their mermaid, dolphin, sea shells, etc. of their dreams. My kid had such a blast!! The young lady who helped us was super friendly and helpful. They were not short on supplies either!! Definitely recommend this fun outing for all families!

I had a great time at the Mermaid factory. We had the shop pretty much to ourselves. The factory keeper of the day was helpful. My friend asked a lot of questions and she was able to help with everything. The complimentary wine is great!The mermaids start at $25 with all you can use paint and glitter. They have a lot of add ons which you can use to personalize or upgrade your mermaid. They can add up quick!

Found this place on trip advisor and on a whim brought my parents around noon on a Wednesday. The shop is small, but it has a good selection of nautical and, of course, mermaid inspired gifts and things. We parked right out front while it poured rain.Chloe, at the register, let me know that they request you make a reservation, but she had time for us right then and there to paint our own.You can pick either a mermaid or a dolphin to paint. You start with paint and then move into glitter and then accessories (pealrs, shells, small objects like wine bottles or sunglasses).We were surprised by how much fun and how long it took! You can really get into the details! My dad who is not very artistic and rolled his eyes when we pulled up ended up really enjoying it. They even serve wine while you are painting (upon request) which was tasty!I highly recommend this for residents and visitors alike!

Lots of options to paint and decorate your mermaid or dolphin with. You have a limited amount of time to paint as well. I was able to get in with in with out a reservation but everyone after me was turned around. Recommend a reservation. The negative I would give is the sculpture is made of plaster so it is really fragile if you plan to take in the luggage you risk a broken mermaid.

It was so much fun. They have so many different things you you can apply to your creation. They have shells, pearls, glitter, stones, beach glass etc... You can even add a skirt. You can paint a mermaid or a dolphin. My daughter and grandchildren loved it too.

Called ahead to reserve a time to come in Owner was super sweet and friendly did the ornament option with my 1 year old.we both enjiyed they have multiple options paints and decorations to choose from.

They have anything and everything under the sun to decorate with. You can also bring your own stuff! Very helpful and informative information and instructions. Will help, and/or answer any questions throughout your visit. So much fun. Plenty of time to finish your product. They do serve drinks for extra money. Perfect place!!! So original.

If you are in this area this place is a must for all ages!! I do not consider myself to have any artistic talents or skills but I had a blast and my mermaid came turned out beautiful!! Jessica and Amber were super friendly and helpful. I plan on returning to create another memorable masterpiece!

Although my daughter enjoyed her mermaid painting very much i walked away on a sour note. When I attempted to book in advance an 8th guest on the reservation, to take advantage of the stated discount for groups of 8 or more, I was told it was not available. Showed up at reservation time and low and behold extra seating was available. Proceeded to paint as a party of 8. Store denied the booking policy discount for group of 8 or more guests due to another party’s presence. The person corresponding via email and staff working never mentioned the one party discount per painting session. This seems like a devious way to avoid giving stated discount on their website!!! Oh and one of the mermaids cracked in half on the 10 minute drive home??? They also charge .50-$1 for every additional babble you would like to add to the mermaid. Only paint and glitter come with your mermaid purchase of $25. ($20 for mermaid and $5 for the studio fee to use the paint and glitter.)

Love it, Really fun and time consuming. Can paint a Dolphin or Mermaid with many different colors! Can add glitter, seashells, mini starfish, etc. Can add little skirts and theres a gift shop filled with many cool items. Can make little Mermaid ornaments.

Such a fun time! Went here for my birthday party and all of us girls enjoyed every moment. A little expensive when buying for more than one person, but definitely well worth the money because of the fun experience.

Staff is not very attentive, once they give you a basic rundown of paints and glitter you are on your own. If over 21 you get two glasses of wine, but you have to ask for it. Last time they acted like I was an inconvenience. But the mermaids are awesome and it is a great place to take kids. Must call and make reservations as the day is broken down into blocks. Even when the place is empty.

Fun place by the airport to have some memorabilia for Norfolk. But beware, no matter what you do, dont take this on an airplane! It will crumble in your very hands!!!!

Went here with my wife to paint mermaids. Gave us 2 and half hours to finish. This place is nice for a quiet date. And we get to keep the mermaids we painted of course.
