IF you bring your car there for an inspection make sure to bring extra cash, they WILL find something. You have 15 days to come back for a re-insection for what you originally failed for. If you come back 16 days they will do a WHOLE NEW inspection and will find something totally different from their first inspection even though you were one day late from the previous inspection, therefor causing you to bring the car back for a THIRD TIME. So what exactly was the FIRST inspector doing if the SECOND inspector at the same facility found more problems on a car that gained 9 more miles since the last visit? Then for the cherry on top we have to argue to pay the $1 dollar re-inspect fee because after the second time my car failed i made sure to bring it back before the 15 days are up, they wanted to charge me the full $20 dollars after I finally PASSED. Ive been going here for almost 10 years, but this is my last time.

Not very happy with this place. I set an appointment for an oil leak in one of my vehicles. I figured it might take a day or two to fix and I was okay with that. My vehicle was inspected about 3 hours after drop off according to a text I received. But I was not made aware of what needed to be done until the next day and not advised of a potential cost until the evening of the 3rd day. I constantly had to call the shop for updates when they should have been reaching out to me to let me know what was going on. I understand parts needed to be ordered but communication is key and this location dropped the ball on that. Ultimately I didnt get my vehicle because Thursday evening after bringing it to the shop on early Monday morning. It caused a huge inconvenience to my family.

This store came to our rescue when we flattened 2 tires while in Norfolk from Pennsylvania, late on a Saturday evening. Alan, was so kind and funny and just great to work with. I’ll forever be grateful to him and his team for guiding us how to get the tow truck to their shop, then replacing two tires and getting us on our way Sunday morning. We are so thankful.

Kimberly was very helpful and was able to get D’Anthony to help me with getting a new tire installed on my spare tire. I was stranded and had came in about 5 minutes before the shop closed. Every other shop was closed & local mobile mechanics was trying to charge me $300+. Store was very helpful. I’ll be a customer here forever.

It was my first time ever using Pep Boys!! When I arrived, I was greeted at the door by Allen. His customer service was EXCELLENT! He was nice, informative and very knowledgeable on the services being provided. They are short staffed so there is a little wait, but I still received quality service for a reasonable price. My coupon was accepted with no problem. I will definitely be using this location for ALL my service needs!

First the service advisors are friendly. But the problem I have is I got charged for 4 service kits when I gave them a brand new TPMS. so that would not need to be rebuilt. Also my TPMS light is still on did the relearn dove it over 30 miles, still on. So at this time I am very hesitant on going Back to the military highway location

On 8-12-21 our minivan sustained a tire blowout as we were driving home to Richmond from a day at the beach with our 3 young children. The AAA technician told us our spare would not get us home due to all the potholes and construction on 64. He directed us to your Pep Boys store.We arrived around 6:30pm where Allen immediately helped us. He was cheerful and personable throughout the whole process. He discovered the store did not have our precise tire in stock, but he and Wayne, the tire tech, problem-solved until they could figure out a tire that would safely get us home.As we were eating on Chickfilas curb across the street, Allen called to inform us we had a nail through the tire wall of ANOTHER tire! Fortunately he and Wayne were able to replace that as well. We left the store at 8:15, past closing time, but with 2 new tires to get us home.Allen and Wayne were extremely helpful in our time of need, and we want to recognize their exemplary customer service.

Over 1.5 hrs to change 2 tires following waiting 24 minutes for a 9:00 AM APPT. essentially 2 hours TO CHANGE TWO TIRES! My mistake for giving them another chance , last time I was giving $300 plus estimate to change a $30 part and a 1/2 hour of labor. STAY AWAY!!!!!

Yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised this Pep Boy’s not only sold the tires I needed for my 1996 Astro Van, but had them in stock as well. I had arrived at 5PM and was told there was a very real possibility they would not be done that night due to their current work load. I opted to wait and at 6:30 the service writer, Allen H. said they would not be able to finish my van that evening. Then he said, but how about a ride home by Lyft that Pep Boys would pay for and we’ll send another one for you tomorrow when it’s ready for pick up. I was amazed and awestruck. When I arrived home I called back and added a state inspection and replacement of both wiper blades, since they would have the van and those things still needed to be done. Today Allen H. called me to say my van was ready and when should he send the Lyft ride. I said now and when I got there, I found out he was giving me an additional 10% off. I paid and was pleased with the workmanship, tires and wiper blades. I now have a current state inspection and I could not be happier with my service from Pep Boys. Thank you !

I work for Mastec Advance technologies and drive a Fleet company Van that uses Norfolk Pep Boys, On Monday my van caught a Flat and had to be brought in for a Tire change and it got done to put me back on the Road to continue my work day, I work across the Chesapeake bay bridge on the eastern shore and as I got to my 1rst job I open my back doors to pull out my safety cones and all I see is this big doughnut tire on top of all my Directv equipment and tools and I immediately lost it like WTH this just didn’t happen but it did so I called Pep Boys and spoke with Manager Allen who listened to my concerns was very polite and professional even though I was a lil perturbed he immediately relieved me of my frustration by apologizing for the carelessness of the technician and requested that I bring it in the AM, which I did and explained it to the Shop manager Michael who again apologize to me and had no technician on duty at the time to fix the issue as I had to go to work, he requested I leave the Tire and return after work which I did and got waited on by the Manager Allen and asst Manager Kimberly, seeing that their only technician on duty was busy they both Allen and Kimberly took matters in their own hands and guided my van to the station to be worked on amazingly Allen the manager rolled up his sleeves and started to fix the issue himself which was a difficult task because the spare goes underneath the Van and He and I had no clue how the spare goes underneath, He didn’t allow that to give me mechanical talk or him from completing what I wanted done, HE GOT IT DONE.. I really was empress with professionalism his patience and his courteousness I just wanted acknowledge and Thank Allen, Kimberly and Micheal for getting my issue done extra Kudos and appreciation to Allen who always treats me well when I go there you da Man Allen💪🏽💪🏽 but seriously don’t let that technician touch my van no more..🙄🙄🙄✊🏾✊🏾Thank you Allen…

The store is closed but you can still get service. If your like me, I need to wait for my car inspections, I was told that its best to go in the middle of the week and month, also call to see if both inspectors will be in, it will go much quicker. Otherwise, you can drop it off the night before.

I made an appointment for a state inspection at 3:30. When I arrived at the scheduled time, I was told that they only do state inspections from 6pm-8pm which is odd enough on its own. I received a confirmation email for my appointment and everything. Wish I would have know that they couldn’t help me before I wasted my time. Online system definitely needs updating

Outrageous prices, probably due to being open later than standard auto service businesses. $85.00 for a 4 cylinder, 2.4 liter Sentra oil change simply because its synthetic oil. I went to the Nissan dealership and it cost less than $51.00 with synthetic oil!!!

I will rate -100 starsThey keep telling me to bring my car when parts are not there, not only once, but three times, left my car for two days and they didn’t do any work! I picked it up and ask to call back when parts come in, Michel the manager personally promised me to have the parts on Friday, that was a week ago!!!, I understand parts can take time to come, but you don’t give false hopes to anyone, specially if you are a manager.There is a lot of confusion between the coworkers, seems that something is odd but don’t communicate with the customer, they said they will call you and they don’t.They don’t make it clear what you are payingHorrible

My vehicle was dropped off overnight for a routine state mandated inspection and while in Pep Boys parking lot, the catalytic converter, down pipe and sensor were cut out of my truck. Pep Boys cameras were miraculously fixed after the incident happened. They were generous enough offer to cover the labor to fix it if I paid for parts. They also thought the truck was unable to be driven away. Some smart mechanics there. My truck has a safe mode. I was able to drive it away from Pep Boys and to my dealer as I called the cops.STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!

Went to get state inspection, was told it would take about 4-5 hours; after 6 hours asked tech how much longer, was told he had no idea after I spent 6 hours in their waiting area. Not very professional reply or keeping in the spirit of their Pep Boys Pledge posted in waiting area. They need beds in waiting area since it takes literally all day for a state inspection. Avoid this place at all cost. Terrible communication skills.

We bought 4 tires online with a promo for free installation. I believe our appointment was at 12:30. The gentleman told my husband it would be about an hour. He also mentioned that we would need to get an alignment done that was $120, we did not expect that, nor when we made our appointment no one made us aware so we could budget for it (if it was truly necessary). We kindly declined since we were blindsided by this extra cost. We left for an hour and came back and they were just lifting the vehicle and just starting to work on it. We Decided to wait and be patient. As we were waiting we get a phone call saying we needed new rear brakes, that it would be an additional $120 for each rear brake and on top of that, another $180 amount due to the vehicle being a Subaru. My husband gave the go ahead. However, I added up the amounts with my new tires, the brake quote, tax and the gentleman was over charging us by well over $100. I immediately called Pepboys back and had the gentleman review the numbers with me to figure out where that invisible $100 was going to and he kept changing the prices and amount, which made me feel like we were being price gouged! I did not feel like I could trust what the employee was saying. My husband and I told them not to replace the brakes. We had our brakes serviced in our other Subaru and it did not cost us the over $400 they quoted us (we only needed pads). Its a shame that we cant be serviced properly without the worry of someone trying to rob us blind! We are in a pandemic, everyone is suffering one way or another. I understand that they may need the business, but that is not how you earn a loyal customer. I will never go there again or recommend any service done. Its a shame that one bad apple truly does ruin it for them all.

Very impressed by this Pep Boys customer service! I made a purchase on Thursday. Upon reviewing the receipt that evening, I discovered an error. After speaking with the manager the next day and providing the support for the error, he initiated a correction that more than solved the problem. I appreciated the prompt resolution and felt very valued as a customer. All associates I dealt with during the initial purchase and subsequent correction were friendly and professional. As further car needs arise that Pep Boys can help with, I will definitely be back!

Today is Saturday January 2nd, 2021. Nice try Pep boys in Norfolk, Virginia. Pep boys in Norfolk is charging me over $100 to replace a light bulb. A light bulb. I do understand the labor involved. The location in Virginia Beach, VA offered including labor under $35.00 for everything. UPDATE less than 30 mins later the Virginia Beach, Virginia location fixed the light bulb and the price under $20.00. Not just the price but the service wasn’t that great. It shouldn’t matter if you are spending $20.00 or $2,000 you should still receive the exceptional experience. Great Customer service just doesn’t exists anymore.

I had my car service at store ID:0111. I bought four new tires with the impression from one of your associates( Michael Anderson) that it would include the alignment with the tires. I was also told that my car would only take 2hrs but it took 4hrs. When I called on the status of my car I was told by another associate( Will) l that it did mot include the alignment and I had to pay an extra $100. My bill came up to $671.32. When I went to pick up my car. Will was having issues with the computer so he had to manual put in my 4th tire discount. After I paid my bill in Norfolk. I went by Portsmouth, VA pep boys on airline to get a quote of my original service from store:0111 and it was quoted $150 less than what I paid. I usually go to the Portsmouth, va pep boys but due to time constraints I didnt.

Initially I went to pep boys due to displaced tires, alignment, and oil change. I can honestly say that pep boys saved my life , i had been driving on damaged control arma amongst other issue I had no knowledge about, Mr Michael Anderson was completely patience and informative with the problems my vehicle had. His customer services was spectacular and he helped me find a plan that works for me.. I recommend Pep Boys in Norfolk for your car needs.Despite the appreciation I has months ago, my experience has changed the customer service is still great by Mr. Michael, however the mechanic is super slow, Ive been without my vehicle for 2 weeks due to a damaged rack in pinion, when it was returned the installed rack was leaking so I had to take it back and the next day its been a additional week and Im still without my vehicle I dont know if its the mechanic or the work loads, it needs to be more convenient for the customer Im very disappointed and unsatisfied and still without my vehicle after 3 weeks

First I would like to say this location on Military Hwy needs a cleaning and complete remodel. That bathroom has a huge leak from the ceiling so the floor is full of water!! Precede with caution!! Lawsuit waiting to happen! I made an appointment online and when I showed up they didn’t have me in the system for 4 new tires but no biggie because they had the tires I needed and the lady that assisted me did give me a good price for my service. (Reason for the 2stars)They have this black guy working in the main part of the store that doesn’t wear his mask over his nose and uses profanity while talking in front of customers! Smh

Im giving one star for the people who work upfront. very professional. The mechanics are lazy. I bought my SUV in because of overheating problems. The mechanic told me they would find out exactly what the problem was. 2 hours after I dropped my vehicle off I received a call from them saying that the cooling system needed to be bled. I told them I didnt think that was it but they said they were sure. I go to pick up my vehicle and after 5 miles it over heated again. I get it towed back to them and once again they tell me that they check it and it was not overheating. I go to pick my vehicle up again and I was told the mechanic said to take it to the dealerMy issue is if you dont know if you can find out what the problem is you should not tell the customer you can.And yes when I picked it up the 2nd time it overheated again. Either the mechanics are lazy or incompetent. I wouldnt even come back here to put air in a tire

I wish i knew his name but the gentleman who called with updates about my car is amazing n deserves a raise. Set appointment online for Sun 12noon for brake job. Eta for it being done was 3 hours. my husband decides to switch it up on me add in oil change n state inspection too. I figure that will add in more time. About 2 oclock or so i get a call saying they completed inspection noil change n were about to do my breaks but wanted to talk to me about rotors. He explained they passed inspection but it was narrow n wanted to give me the option of resurface which would narrow it to the line for free but id still pass or add on for new rotors at 150$ i chose to add it on. Every other mechanic would have looked at me as a woman and just told me i needed it. Pepboys explained the measurements what everything was. They gave me choices n right now in a pandemic that is amazing. They also got done by 230 which is ahead of time they under promise n over deliver i will continue to go there.

Ive never written a review until this point. We had a very simple single tire-change. It took almost 3 hours to complete ( I had an appointment and arrived on time). I watched those working on the car working on other cars that arrived after mine, and working incredibly slowly. I tried to submit a survey to express these problems, and then their system said the survey was unavailable. If you dont have 3-4 hours of free time, dont come here.

I ordered 4 tires on Amazon with the option to have it delivered and installed at Pep Boys Shop. Few days later I got to the shop early in the morning(before 8), and dropped the car. The gentleman at the desk told me that will take around 2 hours to do the work. I had to wait at the shop. After 3 hours of nobody saying anything and the car not even moved from the parking lot, I went to the desk and asked for an explanation. I told the employer that I have been there for 3 hours and in one hour I have to go to work. The employer got irritated that I can not wait more, and just give me the car key. At the end of the day, no tires, and wasted more than 3 hours. I called Amazon and had the tires reimbursed. I am hoping that in the future, Amazon will make better choices for the tire installment centers. If you want to be treated professional and with respect, just choose another shop.

Worst pep boys I’ve been to, called the day prior to get tires that were on sale. Manager told me he wouldn’t order the tires until the next day , asked me to come 8am. I get the a few minutes early, 8:30 comes around doors are still locked, realized service had a separate door but the store hours are 8-8. Go in to purchase the tires and the sale is now over, price went up $200. Manager tells me he doesn’t order tires unless vehicle is dropped off due to no shows. If I would’ve been told that the day I called I would’ve paid that day. I even asked if he could order it that day and he said no, messed me all up. Wasted my morning, planned on a trip after install now I gotta find tires in a hurry. Unprofessional to say the least

The service that I received at Pep Boys on North Military Highway in Norfolk VA was beyond exceptional. Miss Tamika and Mr. Michael was awesome though it was busy handle everyone with courtesy. With more and more people buying their accessories online (mainly due to convenience) auto parts stores are becoming less and less fun to go to. Very limited selections on things not concerning actual auto parts (interior, exterior, etc.)

Pep boys is awesome! I am here what feels like ALL THE TIME!!! (Unfortunately becuase my car is nothing but problems) I think one thing that makes the experience better is Allen. He works the desk in the mechanic shop part of the store. He is kind and knows exactly how to turn a very upsetting situation completely around and make you smile!!!I went in today to find out why my cars traction control mechanism kept kicking on when I would push the Gas. They did a diagnostic test or 2 and a test drive or 2 and they wers able to figure it out.It did take a while for this to get done. I think I sat in the waiting area for about an hour before a mechanic even looked at the car, then an hour or so to get the diagnostics done. Once done, they gave me a quote for what was needed. It cost a lot more than I was planning, but we got the military discount and saved ourselves like $100. And they were able to get it done way faster than I thought they would. I was expecting to leave the car over night, but was able to pick it up the same night I dropped it off. All through the process, Allen kept in touch with me and told me what they were doing and explaned it to me as they were going. And made me feel better about everything and made me smile and laugh! I love seeing him when I go in!The only bad thing I can think of is that they are kinda slow. So if you wait for your car, plan to be there for at least 2 hours or so!

Stranded 4 hours from home this past Saturday evening, driving on a spare that my daughter and I got on in the rain, pulled in to Pep Boys assuming they could at least take a look. No empathy, no attempt at even trying to fit us in the next day before we have to drive home. Pretty sure I even heard a chuckle as the guy behind the counter said yeah, sorry, dont have the time or the staff. Said they were all booked up Sunday, soonest he could get me in was Tuesday. Found Joes Used Tires on Google, he got me in and out in less than 20 minutes, had my tire all fixed up. Thank you, Russell, at Joes!! Absolutely NO thanks to Pep Boys!

The guy William who waited on me was decent, but overall I was upset with this visit. I ordered 4 tires for pick up online showed available for pick up. Needless to say upon waiting 30 plus minutes only 3 in the building. I am now waiting for a phone call when they have the 4th and left with zero. It wasnt as if I ordered from a third party site either...first question upon discovering only 3 tires I was asked if I ordered through Amazon SMDH. I explained that no I ordered directly from the pep boys website for that location received confirmation and order number ... ready for pick up. We shall see how long I will wait for the call.
