This is a long overdue review, but I would like to give six stars if I can! My husband and I are completely clueless about diamond at first, but working with Solomon from Michael F& C was the best decision we have ever made. He is extremely knowledgeable, and told us a lot about diamonds without pushing us to make any purchase. After you determine your budget, he will try his best to find you several diamonds that fall into that range. Trust me, you will definitely find the perfect diamond for yourself with his help. The rest of the employees who i interacted with were also super friendly and nice. Overall a great experience!

My now fiancé and I traveled to NY this summer with one objective in mind.. to buy an engagement ring. We visited many shops while we were there but one store/experience stood out the most to us and that was Michael F & Co! Our experience with Michael was extremely pleasant and a ton of fun. Michael is a true professional and as honest as they come. I purchased my engagement ring and both wedding bands from Michael. Michael and his daughter have so much patience with their customers. Bought my wifes engagement ring and wedding band here after searching around for MONTHS. From the second we walked into this place we felt like we were in great hands, with Michael himself patiently walking us through the available options and his recommendations. Although the selection may not have been as big as some other places, the quality was spectacular. We ended up making our purchase within an hour of walking into the place, and I know we got both a great product and a great deal. My wife was ECSTATIC when she saw it![Update] Still couldnt be happier with the ring. When Michael followed up to check in, I mentioned that the weight of the diamond on her engagement ring prevented it from staying upright (not that she was complaining). Michael offered to fix it overnight for FREE by installing little beads inside the band to help keep it upright, including shipping both ways. Again, cant say enough about the incredible service!!!

I came into the store 2.5 weeks before my wedding and wanted to get an emerald cut eternity band thats roughly 0.2 carat per stone. Solomon was very friendly, he has the exact ring Im looking for, but the ring size is too big. Solomon is a very honest salesman. He understands that 0.3 carat per stone would look took big on my finger and that it wouldnt stack too well. So he didnt even try to up sell me. Another sales rep actually pulled out a 0.5 carat per stone eternity band, but Solomon told her its not going to look good with the look Im going for.Solomon explained that he will be making a brand new one for me if I were to decide on getting the wedding band from him. The stone settings on an eternity ring band is hard to alter, the best way is the make a brand new one. The size has to be perfect, if not you will feel uncomfortable with a close grip.Since my fiancé, now husband, is busy building his business empire and doesnt have time to compare prices. I went to my other jeweler in NJ to compare the prices Solomon gave me. My NJ jeweler was 30% cheaper, but he couldnt deliver in 2 weeks. I went back to Solomon, told him I need his absolute best offer, gave him the quotes I got from my NJ jeweler, and Solomon was able to come close to the amount Im asking for. It was slightly higher than my NJ jeweler, but Solomon was able to make a brand new ring in a week, and the clarity is slightly higher. I received my ring the day before my wedding and everything was perfect. It came in a really nice box too.Solomon is an honest man. He was really nice and offered to polish and clean my engagement ring and other jewelry I was wearing that day. I would highly recommend going back to Solomon, just dont take his first offer that seriously. Unless hes going to change his sales strategy after reading this review :)But in general, if youre shopping for diamonds in Diamond District, I would highly recommend comparing prices before committing to the sales. All the jewelers share the same GIA diamond inventory. And its always better to have a ring made to your specific size. ie: 5 1/4 ring size.

It was nothing short of a complete pleasure to do business with Michael, Solomon and Elina. My husband I were a little skeptical of the NYC Diamond District in general, especially after having visited several of the neighboring shops on the block. We instantly connected and felt comfortable with the types of individuals Michael and team were, Especially Solomon. From start to finish, they made us feel comfortable with the process of selecting the diamond, setting the diamond, and pricing the completed ring. The ring they created for me was beyond breathtaking. I should let you know can be extremely picky with the slightest variation of my expectation, and they exceeded my expectation with the both diamond they selected and the setting. When you walk in the diamond district in New York City, there are a lot of options of storefronts. Michael F & Company is one of those beautiful storefronts you see. But over the years, and in my experience, Michael F & Company has become the only storefront that I go to. I have bought many pieces of jewelry from Michael over the years such as my wedding band, several earrings, cocktail ring and anniversary ring. I go to Michael when I want to commemorate big milestones in our lives such as our wedding, 30th birthday, birth of my child, and most recently our 15 year wedding anniversary. Each time I walk into Michaels store, I never know exactly what I am looking for. Michael, each time, listens to me and comes up with the exact piece of jewelry whether it is in his store already or will build it for me. His taste and quality of jewelry is exceptional, I trust his advice, and I know that he is extremely fair in pricing. Most recently, Michael helped reset my engagement ring, resized my wedding band and added an additional diamond ring to stack to the set. To say that the jewelry he has provided me over the many years has exceeded my expectations is an understatement. I will ONLY go to Michael F & Company and would recommend him to anyone.

Found a gorgeous diamond engagement ring and stunning diamond wedding band here! Michael treated me like family and helped me throughout the entire purchase process. From first designing the ring, to better understanding why each diamond is unique, and finally to the complete ring; he was available and made sure to help. I was skeptical, but after hearing my friends story and their purchase from Michael... I started browsing online and fell in love with a piece he had custom made. I didn’t think we would be able to afford anything like I was hoping for, but Michael worked with us for 6 months and in the end I ended up with an exceptional, top of the line, quite nicely sized GORGEOUS diamond with paperwork and a stone that far exceeeded anything we thought we would be able to afford. He came so highly recommended that we did something way out of our comfort zone. My fiancee wired the money for the ring and within days Michael had custom made it and had it delivered via shipping (with insurance). Not only did he have it delivered, but he exceeded our expectations and had it delivered in time (which was a VERY short window being that it was custom made!) for our original wedding date that had been postponed due to the pandemic. He was insistent it would be here if that was when we were supposed to get married whether we actually were going to be or not. He didn’t care. He just wanted to do the best he could on his part. He was even was in contact with my husband to be as he proposed to be sure all went well!!! He truly was that genuine and extremely gracious. It was always so nice to speak with Michael as he was always so kind, polite, and helpful. He truly wants you to love what you buy from him. To say that our experience with Michael was exceptional is an understatement. Also, because we were out of state and it was being shipped... we didn’t have to pay NY taxes which saved a ton of money. He and his daughter Elina were with us every step of the way. They were never pushy and offered very knowledgeable, sound advice with obvious expertise. Also, my friend assured me from their personal experience that Michael stands by his work and will always be present and accommodating should anything arise from the jewelry... and he also exchanges should you decide to upgrade. My boyfriend and I went engagement ring shopping in the Diamond district and walked into Michael’s store by chance. It was just the second store on 47th Street that we made it to when we felt no reason to keep shopping. A wonderful salesman named Solomon showed us a few comparable stones in our price range and it was an easy pick! We found a round stone for a simple solitaire setting, exactly like I wanted. It was a very nice experience, we plan to go back for wedding bands. Thanks, Solomon! Also — we worked with Michael and his daughter when we went back for sizing and to decide on the metal of the ring. They were wonderful and clearly know the business well.

I can only say: AMAZING service and I am so happy that I went there. I purchased a new setting for my engagement diamond, the diamond is only 1,5 ct, so the setting was not a big business for Michael. He took so much time for me and at the end I walked out of the store with my own engagement diamond in its new beautiful setting, everything was done on the spot and the diamond setter did his job in front of my eyes, so no misunderstandings possible. I highly recommend this store, I will def. come back there soon for earrings.

Until after I made the purchase...went back after a few months because one of the diamonds on the side had Cracked. Michael proceeded to accuse my wife (luckily she wasn’t there) of improper use. He said he may not fix it. So I went elsewhere since he was very rude. Since then, another diamond has fallen out and another has cracked.Work with anyone but Michael. He’s a bit uninterested in the business. The daughter Alina is much easier to work with.

Found the perfect engagement ring sitting in the window of their jewelry store! Elina was nice enough to size the ring and have it ready ASAP.

I recently purchased our diamond engagement ring from Michael and his daughter Elina. We already had some ideas ahead of time about the cuts and settings we were interested in through online stores, but we wanted to see them in person to make our decision. Michael F & Co came highly recommended from a friend so we gave them a call and they were able to prepare stones and settings for us to view that same day.With their help expert guidance we were able to narrow the search down to the exact stone and setting we wanted in only three visits. Elina worked extra hard to get multiple stones extremely similar to what I had found online, and we were able to see them in person and compare variations in depth, table, and the four Cs for our princess cut and pick one that had the right aesthetics for our tastes. The one we ended up picking was something that Elina had hand picked as being exceptional for the price range we were looking at, and closely matching our specifications.After picking out the ring, Michael and his associates were able to get it set, engraved and shipped in a remarkably short time frame. The whole process took less than two weeks. There was some time pressure on the ring, and they surely delivered. I was expecting and willing to pay a premium for the level of in-store service they provided compared to the popular online retailers, but the prices were surprisingly competitive. I see no reason to choose a online retailer over Michael F. They were very professional and easy to work with through the whole process.They also provide great post sale support. The somewhat top heavy ring tended to rotate my finances finger due to her finger shape. They were able to get her sorted with fitment beads the same day she brought it in. I had a bad experience at this store while shopping for a 5+ carat fancy yellow diamond ring in the diamond district. The sales person was very pushy and became rude and nasty when I told him that I would like to think about his offer and would like to do some comparison shopping. He demanded that I buy the ring right there or the price would be higher if I left and returned the next day.Needless to say, I left. An hour after leaving Michaels, I made a six figure purchase at Dalia Diamonds, another store in the diamond district. Natalia and Brian at Dalias treated me with courtesy and respect, something I felt was lacking at Michael F & Company.

Wedding anniversary present worked out exactly as I thought! The 3-stone ring was something that my wife wanted for a little while but the ring that Michael F picked out had her smiling from ear to ear.

My partner and I travelled to New York from the UK for a weekend away and decided that it was the right time to get engaged. We looked on the internet and found a company that was on trip advisor with high ratings. We walked around the diamond district and must have looked lost as a nice gentleman stopped and asked if we needed help. He pointed us in the right direction, but also said he would be able to help us as he had a shop as well. We decided to have a look and showed him exactly what we were looking for and he showed us exactly what we wanted. They even made it fit exactly how we wanted it. We went to Starbucks to talk it through and decided to go back and buy the ring. They were really supportive and we had a good laugh as they made the experience rememberable. We would recommend them, the only thing I regret is not going back afterwards to take a picture of where and who we bought our engagement ring from.
