SO MANY PASTRIES. An extensive breakfast menu, which was exactly what I wanted when I searched “breakfast restaurant” on Google Maps in the hopes I’d find some place exactly like Sunburst Espresso. By Manhattan standards, the price-to-portion is very good, I think I only paid about $15 for a very ample breakfast (see photo), which included the choice of a crepe, pancake, or French toast; I went with crepe, which they allow you to customize from a choice of a dozen different toppings (I chose fresh raspberries & almonds). Good coffee, WiFi with power outlets scattered throughout for phone and laptop charging, a stack of newspaper to peruse by the entrance if you want a break from your glowing screens, and a wait staff who won’t bother you much. Will go again soon the next time I need some comfort food therapy.

Brunch food is good. There was too much baking powder in the scone. But eggs, muffins, salads and coffee were really good. Wait staff is excellent. Friendly and attentive. Helped us get a table for 9 outside without a reservation on a Sunday at 12:30. Difficult to find in NYC. One of our party did not have proof of vax so we had to eat outside.

The coffee is delicious and the staff is (mostly) very friendly, however, the service is consistently VERY slow. I come in every morning, order and iced coffee, and usually find myself in the store for five to ten minutes when its not even busy! Will give them a few more chances then might have to find a new place.

Its an ok diner. Not bad but not sure why everyone seems to be raving about it. Very average - plenty of other options around this area but if you just want some typical diner food, its fine. Nice people but service is a little slow.

Walking home from Drs appointment and came across this cute cafe. Had the eggs Benedict and it was done to perfection. lol I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture.

Easily one of the best diners in the Gramercy neighborhood area. Phenomenal food and priced like a fast food restaurant (seriously). Great staff and it is a comfortable environment for seniors, families, and young folks nursing hangovers.

Without a doubt, one of my favorite spots in the city! In college my friend and I would even sometimes spend the day working here and have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Homemade tasty food, AMAZING breakfast and pastries, good coffee (size XL available), friendly service every time, endless menu... Never disappoints!

After I was waiting for about 20 minutes to be serve and nobody came no even to bring the menu I decided to leave I used like this place but now is horrible the service sock! I hope nobody came to this Place IM NOT RECOMMENDED abd I give 1 star because it do let write with out one ver upsetting 😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬

Got a sandwich and it was rancid. Thinking, it might just be the smell, I ate some of it and noticed that the meat was completely discolored and the meat was spoiled. On top of that, the bread was completely stone-stale. Im disturbed they would serve this sandwich. Its clear, it was spoiled and no one bothered to quality check. I can assume the food is not made fresh.

This is such an adorable and quiet neighborhood Coffee shop what has ample indoor and outdoor seating and the cutest decor. It is a fantastic spot to come to to read and hang out, or even to take a business meeting. They have an extensive selection of pastries and food in addition to coffee and smoothies. Highly recommended.

I’m not sure of the gentleman’s name, but there is a younger gentleman with black hair that is always there. He’s an absolutely beautiful person that treats every SINGLE customer with dignity, respect, and compassion CONSISTENTLY, whether they’re rude or sweet to him in return. I’ve been back 4 times in the past month....he remembers my other half and I, and is continually the burst of sun(light) that the name of the cafe implies!As for the food, there’s nothing you won’t like....we’ve had the pastries...FANTASTIC....we also had a big breakfast with French toast, potatoes, eggs, etc...and it was really like a schmorgasboard of food. The VALUE is unmatched for the amount AND quality of the food you receive. You will never, ever leave hungry and you’ll feel good in the soul. It’s THAT good.The coffee (Americana and cafe mocha) is absolutely fresh, fragrant, and flavorful. My other half also enjoys their chai lattes. They have a nice outdoor area you can sit for now due to COVID, but it’s still the quaint coffee shop you want in the morning. DEFINITELY one of my favorites in the Gramercy area!!

Some of the worst crepes and smoothies I have ever had. The crepes are thick, cold, and have almost no filling (nutella and strawberry crepe, which doesnt actually include strawberries). The smoothies are very large, but appear to be ~90% water (triple berry smoothie)

Ordered the savory crepe with ham and swiss (you know, the kind they make from buckwheat flour? You know, the savory kind).Instead, I got a sweet(!) crepe stuffed with ham warmed in the microwave. Tasted like a birthday cake stuffed with ham.Told them this wasnt what I had in mind when I ordered. They gave us a free dessert which was a nice gesture, but maybe bringing me yet more sweets wasnt the best tactic.They ended up charging me for the untouched ham birthday cake.Good intentions on all parties, but maybe they shouldnt have items on the menu that they cant / dont know how to make. It will save patrons the disappointment, and them the bad review.

Ordered dinner to be delivered to my hotel room at almost 9pm. The delivery packaging is leaky but once i got everything cleaned up, I enjoyed a absolutely fabulous meatballs and mashed potatoes, coffee and a bread pudding. Everything tasted like my grandmother packed my lunch for me.

Its a locals place; and because its near my aunt Bos apartment, Ive been a few times. I like having coffee here while watching New Your people living, as though it was reality TV show - phenomenal. By the way, a tribute to the friendly atmosphere, the hand prepared food, the backed goods and, the fantastic coffee are the number of people that keep coming back day after day.

Ordered a piece of cheesecake at around 7:15 pm to be delivered to our hotel. It came quickly enough but it arrived wrong. Received red velvet cake and no utensil to eat it with. They said they called to let us know they were out of cheesecake but we got no call. But the reason for this complaint is that the cake was disgusting and inedible. Dry as if it’s been sitting uncovered in a refrigerator for days. That, to me, was insulting. I’d worked at a restaurant for years and I would never send out disgusting food like that. Just bad

Went here for the first time at the weekend and have to say I was very impressed. They could have a larger seating area but that is hardly worth deducting a star. We both had omelettes and they were very well prepared. The service was fast and friendly. Will definitely go back since it is just across the street from me.

This place like a heaven for me because they have a huge selection of pastries and sweets. Also, veggie burger was delicious. And I really liked the prices which was reasonable for this location.

Ordered from here on Grubhub recently, and they get here 15-20 mins late. Once getting the order, i realized that they missed 3 items. The food was bearly warm cause of how long it took and the bacon was over cooked. Called back again and they say would fix it, but it takes them forever to get the food. I dont understand why it takes them so long or why the delivery drivers take a year to get here. This is just getting sloppy. It doesnt deserve a 4 or 5 star, neither a 3 star. This a disappointment. Giving it a 2 star is just all Ill give. I will never waste my money nor time on this place again..

Terrible smoothie. First of all, it was almost $9 for a banana, yogurt, and mango smoothie. What? For that price I could have gone to Liquiteria and gotten higher quality ingredients. Second of all, the smoothie was very bland. The fruit was neither ripe nor flavorful. I drank half of it just because it cost so much. I planned to save the rest, bring it home and add to it to improve the taste but after carrying it around for a couple of hours, I just decided to toss it. Back to the price: Im not even sure the prices are clearly listed. I certainly dont recall seeing the price on the board above the counter. I would never have paid that much for a basic, boring smoothie had I known. The only reason Im not giving this place one star is because its a great location, they have outside seating, and the staff are nice.

I work nearby and this has become my favorite lunch spot. Staff is incredibly friendly and speedy. Food is a bit pricey for sandwiches but thats Manhattan for you (still better value than most).Overall an incredible experience everytime.

So glad that this place was open on Christmas day. Stopped in for some coffee and bread puddin. Both were fantastic. I have been passing by this place for years but never stopped in until yesterday. I realize now that that was a mistake. Great place. Great staff. I will be returning soon.

Don’t EVER go here! Just threw out my stale, hard as a rock cinnamon bun. Girl said it was “fresh, made today.” She lied. It was so stale I couldn’t get the wrapper off. It was as though it was “glued” to the bun. Second time this happened to me. 0 stars, not 1.

I had breakfast for dinner here once after a busy day of midterms. It was the perfect place to wind down; the ambience brings you to a very peaceful state of mind. The food was fine, but nothing special. Their wifi is free, however, and they wont kick you out. Its a very homey place with various comfort foods to choose from. If youre looking for gourmet, try down the street, but if youre looking for a second home, youve found it.

Sunburst is a wonderful place to get work done. If you need to get work done and want to take a break from your apartment and.. that famous coffee shop that you usually go to but shall remain nameless for this review... There are several offerings as far as coffee and espresso drinks.But it doesnt end there. Sunburst also offers diner foods like burgers, brunch food (omelettes, egg sandwiches, etc.), appetizers, and desserts.If you do plan on working there, plan to bring your laptop fully charged since there are limited outlets. Also, the way the tables are setup could be a tight squeeze so its not a place where you can bring your mobile office with you. Overall great place.

Got the custom French omelette pancake and the custom pancake. It was the first item on the upper left of the menu. The order came with an egg white omelette with your choice of fillings, a side of chunky potatoes and a super tasty & crispy pancake with your choice of fillings. Will definitely be headed back here again next weekend for breakfast with friends!

Customer service to go is horrible. They focus more on tables and deliveries. I waited 15 mins to get a beverage. I was acknowledged 8 mins after waiting to be told I needed to wait an additional 5 mins for my order to be made, which even exceeded the time I was told to wait for it to be made. The coffee is great but the wait time is horrible. It would be nice to appreciate the customers that are actually double parked to enjoy delicious coffee, but its not worth potentially getting a ticket for it.

Good service, good range of items on the menu as well as the option to make your own (e.g. omelettes). They serve breakfast all day which is convenient for late risers! I had the Sunburst omelette which was generously served on the plate. Upon receiving the bill I was surprised to see the coffee was free. Overall, very reasonably priced as well.

Cute place with the feel of an east village cafe. Lots of seating, nice staff, big menu. I had the grilled vegetable salad which was very good, and a big enough portion for the price ($4.95).

The prices in person are double the price listed online, this is false advertising. The cashier was super rude, tellig me to speak to a a manager then saying their was no manager here. Another women responded with “ i don’t make the rules”. The overpriced food (aka who charges 8$ for a smoothie) and below average taste is not worth any new yorker’s time or hard earned money. People of NY, there are tons of options, don’t make the mistake of coming here.

Very busy and packed around 12pm. Literally every seat in the house was taken.I came in for just coffee and came out with a cold brew, a lemon loaf, and blueberry banana loaf. Everything was delicous and prepared quickly. The only thing was, the cashier wasnt too welcoming and took a longgggg while to acknowledge our existence.Aside from that, Id stop in if Im in that area again.

HORRIBLE!! All I ordered was a breakfast sandwich and it took 57 minutes to get to me!! the food was COLD!! my eggs were over cooked when I asked for over medium, the bread wasnt the baguette as I asked for and the bagel they gave me was old and hard!! The best thing of the breakfast was the damn free coffee which by the way was cold too but at least tasted good. Called and was told sorry were busy and hung up on me!!

A tale of two diners. The food can be found in other places but the staff is pretty solid. Theres an outdoor space that is haphazard as to when its open but its definitely a place to hit up in the mornings for breakfast or brunch. The evening hours can be iffy. Scones, muffins, granola they hit out of the park.

Order came incomplete, missing half the items.Second delivery came 40 minutes later, still with incomplete items, with the seasoned fruits void of any nuts.The delivery was not fast. The delivery was not complete. Do not advertise fast delivery when it does not exist.If I could give this 0 stars, I would.

Chicken sandwich was very tasty, bread was toasted to perfection.

The curry chicken wrap tastes unique and it was very appetising. I guess the scope of my judgement is limited, but I was happy.
