This coffee shop luckily located near our workplace. It has been my routine to purchase and had my morning coffee here before heading to work. The place was cozy, and their coffee was amazing! I love the aroma of their coffee, and the taste was perfectly balanced with the sweetness and bitterness of the coffee beans. Try them, guys!

What we liked about this place are the very lovely staff and a very welcoming atmosphere. The coffee also that we ordered was very tasty and very satisfying. Thus, we enjoyed our stay here. If youre into reading while savoring a coffee, you could pick and read your favorite book to read. Thank you so much for welcoming us nicely!

A decent coffee shop that deserves its location and space. Unlike a growing number of cafes in downtown trying to make their atmosphere quick, instant, and somewhat hectic for better customer circulation, this place provides much more relaxed and cozy ambience while maintaining friendly service. If I happen to pass by the area again, I will definitely make a stop here.

Meh! I was surprised at the persistently high reviews for this coffee shop. While the coffee is tasty and the staff are friendly, they could be more attentive to ensure a level of cleanliness. Cups and plates are left on the table, and napkins and other small trash are lying on the floor. The table I sat at was also annoyingly wobbly requiring a napkin wedge.

I don’t put 5 stars to any venue unless I have been there for 5 times. Only experiencing the venue for a few times I can objectively assess it.Kaffe 1668 South is a nice place to have a coffee in TriBeCa. I passed it several times but never noticed it. I discovered it thanks to my friend. Most of all I adore its ambience and interior. The coffeeshop is literally divided into two salons. There is a huge wooden table where 10-12 people can easily fit in with no intention to make a mess. The second so called area is filled up with separate small tables for couples. The high ceiling and big vans up there maintain a good balance of air in the room. In addition, right by the window there installed a nice wooden bench where 3 people can seat and enjoy their food and have a talk.As for Coffee, I would score it 8 out of 10 which is very good to my point of view. The same concerns pastry.Overall, I enjoyed my time in Kaffe 1668 South.

I really enjoy this location. Right in the heart of lower Manhattan, it feels like a nice, relaxed escape from the chaos of the West Side Highway and the Financial District. The music is played at a reasonable volume and seating is functional (though not comfortable for long periods). Its a good spot for being productive. Its receives plenty of natural light, so overhead lighting isnt jarring. Both the food and drink menus offer great selection (some vegan friendly) and theres a refrigerator stocked with takeaways. The one issue I have is all dairy alternatives cost extra. Ive been to cafés in the area that dont charge anything. (I cant help that Im allergic to dairy!) That understood, it still hits the benchmark price point for an iced latte.Overall, I highly recommend this place and I often choose it as a spot to meet friends.

I like the place. I love the drinks and I like the ambience. The only reason why I gave it three stars is because they take too long - 10 to 15 minutes in rush-hour times - just to make you a drink. I always have mixed feelings about stepping in there if I don’t have plenty of time.

Review №45

I had heard a lot about this place so I decided to finally check it out. I like the vibe - it is good to work out of, especially with the wooden tables and a free wifi with a decent speed. They have enough seating, so youre likely to find a spot mostly. However, their coffee wasnt up to my expectations. I got an oat mocha and it tasted like a regular latte. The taste and flavor of mocha was missing. I come to this conclusion after having tried over a 100 oat mochas - it being my go-to drink. The coffee beans were smooth but not strong as per my taste.

One of the better shops you can go to, hard to be disappointed even with the most exacting standards! An independent roaster, check. The baristas are well trained and will answer whatever questions you have about the coffee fluently, check. They know how to make properly executed espresso and/or steamed milk, check. They may only have one espresso on offer at a time, but its good and has character. The space is comfortable, cozy, contemporary and had an aesthetic of its own. So yeah, maybe the coffee wont make you double take but its perfectly good. Were lucky to have shops that cover all these bases.

Review №47

I dont post reviews much but seriously! I dont get why this is rated so highly. The food might be great I guess...didnt try it. All I know is I ordered a flat white and it came in a 12oz cup instead of a 6oz cup with twice as much milk in it as it should have had, the milk was tepid and turned my stomach and the espresso was burnt. For $4.65!!!! You would expect a perfect drink at a place which charges that much. Definitely wont go back...lots of better options in the neighbourhood where you can get a nice strong, flavourful, balanced coffee for less. I would avoid this place if you are particular about drinks being made properly. I give it two stars because the atmosphere is genuinely nice. Only reason I went in is because It was inviting and I needed to use the restroom and sit for a bit to read something, and my top favourite coffee in the neighbourhood (Laughing Man) is only takeaway.

Great coffee, friendly staff and a really great place to grab your laptop and get some work done. Its located close to Borough of Manhattan Community College so the place fills up pretty quickly with college students, as well as solopreneurs trying to bang out a few emails so space is at a premium. But the large wooden working tables with benches makes the shared space less claustrophobic. I havent tried out their lunch menu, but if you just want a quick bite, their chocolate croissants are pretty tasty!

Upon entering, I was greeted by the industrial decor and pleasant smell of coffee. My first impression of the food was from a small glass fridgerator filled with grab and go selections from the menu. Priced a little bit more expensive, I was expecting the prices on the menu to be similar or higher, but was happy to see the prices were reasonable, around $10 an order. Pastries averaged around $3.50-4, and coffee about the same. It was pretty busy while I was ordering my food, and the line creates a bottleneck which traps the person at the register. A little uncomfortable but manageable. When I visited, there were more people waiting for their food than eating. I remarked to my friend, do they actually make food?, half joking, half worried wed never get fed. I turned my head and it arrived. Wait was about 15 minutes on a Wednesday, about noonish. Not too bad.Good ventilation from having the door propped open too.

The coffee is OK, not the best pour over Ive had. Ive been here twice on weekends and noticed that the place attracts a lot of table hoarders with laptops, making it really hard to sit down even a party of two. Updated: The coffee has really gone downhill over the years and several other places have opened up. The coffee doesnt taste as fresh as it once did and much of the nuance is gone from each cup.The used to have several different regional offerings for pour-overs and I havent seen that the last few times I went in either. Im not sure if the management, ownership, clientele, or data is different but the place I used to love has really changed.I will say the employees are great though. Really nice and top notch.Original: Best coffee in Tribeca. Kind of pricy though. Worth it for a treat (or if money isnt a concern)
