Brought an 80s 35mm Nikon in for a small repair. Staff and camera tech were quick and efficient and I was in and out in 10 minutes! Though this might not be a typical wait time, I can attest that the quality was great and the repair was affordable. Thank you!

Repair shops of all kinds have come and gone...mostly gone, in this era of disposable (near-) everything. (Dont get me started about laptops.) When it comes to cameras, however, Nippon Photoclinic, besides being among the few remaining independent camera repair facilities left in Gotham, ranks among the very best: Ive relied on them literally for decades, and theyve yet to fail me, even when the tab for fixing a particular bit of gear was sizable. (Thats just how it is sometimes.) Very highly recommended.

I showed up as a walk-in. While they said they dont repair Bronicas, the technician still looked at it for me and confirmed by laypersons analysis of the issue. He mentioned that the only person who repaired Bronicas has retired (that would be Jimmy Koh). So, if youre looking to repair your Bronica, Google Jimmy and reach out to him. He still gives advice by phone and email.5 stars for still diagnosing a camera they wouldnt be able to fix, for free.

The lady working when I came in was nice enough, but informed me that they “refused to touch” the camera model I brought in for repair. Their website touts the expensive range of brands that they repair, and so I hadn’t expected that. If they were so adamant about not repairing that model, a notice should be put on the website. I had tried calling before coming in to confirm but no one answered the phone, either.

I have a Contax T2 that had fungus in the lens and sent it to Nippon for repair. They were speedy to notify me when they received the camera in the mail and how much it was going to cost. I was surprised that they were able to replace the whole lens element. They were quick to reply when I had questions and they even fix other things for free. Im super happy with their service. Hopefully Ill never have to work with them again, but if I do, Ill have full faith in them. Thank you again!

Amazing place! Went in about 2 weeks ago to purchase/ install a rewind crank for my canon AE-1, not only did they install it but also tested my camera to see if it was working properly because I had informed them I bought it as is (just the body, no lens) will 100% be going back and making this my go to repair shop!

They were able to fix my Fuji GW690II in a timely manner. Its pricier than most other places, however, they truly know what theyre doing and will have you camera working flawlessly again. The attention to detail was incredible. From new light seals, to alignment and repairing cameras which parts are scare for. Will definitely return.

Nippon replaced the take-up spool on my Contax T3 in 2016. Theyre very easy to communicate with and always thoroughly explain their processes etc. Being the only known place in North America that still works on Contax cameras, I sent them my T3 again earlier this year for a different problem. They diagnosed the issue, but unfortunately didnt have any parts available to fix it. Before sending it back to me, they offered me $50 to buy the camera off of me for parts. This camera, even not working properly, is going for at least $1000 right now. Nippon is a reputable place and does wonderful work, but know the worth of your camera before agreeing to sell it to them.

Great service, great price.I went to sort out my SLR which had got bottled water in the back and they were super quick to identify how to fix the problem. As I was on holiday in NYC, I didnt have time to let them fix it, but they only charged me $5 to open the camera and find out what I should do to fix it. Really grateful for their work and they were very friendly.

Nippon Photo Clinic Rehabilitated my 60 yr old Leica M3, and various lenses of the same age. I was impressed by the extent of their expertise. They are honest, prompt, and professional. They even offered to loan me a camera for a few days while they finished my repair. They are in a league of their own.

Nippon is really the gold standard in terms of fairness and good quality repairs. They do a great job, never rip you off and are straightforward and honest about everything. Ive even had them be unwilling to charge me for a sensor cleaning when they saw a defect on my sensor they could address mid way through.

Stopped by here a while ago to have my old Nikon Fs looked at. I needed a new foam mirror bumper for my oldest Nikon F and they were able to fit one in minutes. While they were back there they even checked all the shutter speeds! They were quick and courteous. Ill soon be taking in an M6 to have the rangefinder calibrated.

Avoid at all costs. The photo technician in this clinic is extremely rude. Both him and the receptionist couldnt tell me what was wrong with my camera based upon the images I provided and then they insulted me by asking if I was a beginner (most likely because I am a young woman). I have been shooting for 9 years and was very insulted by the technicians demeaning comments while poorly attempting to explain what he thought. After inspecting my camera they emailed me estimating the charges at $108 and then said there was nothing visibly wrong.. so why would you email me suggesting $108 worth of work should be done? Horrible place.

Nippon Photoclinc is my go to place for repairs of my various film cameras. So far, Ive used them 4 times and have been happy with the results. Ive had them fix up rangefinders, slrs and twin lens cameras. Service is prompt and efficient. I live close by so always bring my cameras in. Just wish they were open on Saturdays.

Got in with my Sony a6300 panicking because of gray spots on all my pictures, turns out my sensor was just dusty. The employees were very friendly to clean *or in my case blow* the sensor without charge. Nyc needs more people like this, definitely will come back for any camera problems. ❤

Will never be going here again, rude and awful service. Firstly, I waited a week for a price estimate, was told my repair would cost $280 but ended up coming out to $600. Plus on top of everything, my camera came back with a few more bumps and scratches. I dont recommend wasting your time here.

The person in the counter was not polite nor helpful. I had a Russian lens on my Sony camera and he said we dont fix Sony. I told him, it was not the camera but the lens. He told me that they only fix German and Japanese lenses, to which I replied that my lens was a Russian version of a Zeiss, German, lens. He repeated we dont fix Russian, a technician was never called to even check
