They have a wide selection of futons and many price ranges. The customer service was excellent and were very happy with futon we purchased. Delivery arrangements are easy to coordinate.

TLDR: Disappointing service and bad return policy. Wanted to like this place, really tried working with them. Even spoke with the owner, Eddie. Had a terrible experience, got a falsely promised product, and felt like they didnt treat the customer right. Cant in good conscience recommend this place.DETAILS:Purchased a mattress from Futonland at its Chelsea location from Michelle. Friendly interaction but she failed in two things. (1) She did not deliver the product as promised. (2) She failed to make clear the sale was final. Plus (3) Spoke with the owner, Eddie--didnt grasp good customer service.(1) I asked Michelle for a soft mattress: I dont want firm. Futonland has few sample mattresses on the floor. They keep some higher-end mattresses ($1000 to $2000) all the way in the back. Mostly, you see sofas on display. Makes it impossible to test out mattresses. I trusted Michelle when she sold me what was supposed to be a soft mattress. When the mattress arrived, it was NOT soft. Had many friends try it, including those who like firm. All of them said, Damn, this is super frim.(2) Reached out to Futonland to explain. Michelle wasnt around so I dealt with Alvin. Alvin said the sale was final. Theres nothing they could do. Nobody mentioned the sale was final, I said. The fine print is general wording that says SOME things may be final sale. How is the customer supposed to know? I told Alvin all I wanted was store credit and I would be willing to come in and spend a lot more on a softer mattress. Thats just our policy. I can log a ticket and take it up with the owner. Alvin did so and called back a few days later: We can give you 15% off a new mattress. No return of the bad mattress. Spoke with Alvin again and he said I could talk directly with the owner, Eddie.(3) Spoke with Eddie. Basically, he said, Tough cookies. Told Eddie that this wasnt about the money. Mattress and delivery were just over $300. I could throw the mattress out and get something else. Wouldnt put a dent in my finances. Wanted to see if Eddie and Futonland could the the right thing for the customer. Explained the situation. Eddie: Yeah, I dont think I can ask my staff to remember to tell folks some things are final sale. Me: Other retail shops ALWAYS tell the customer a given item is final sale, even on $10 flip-flops. In this case, Im spending hundreds of dollars on an item that is so fundamental to my daily wellbeing. Youre saying your staff shouldnt have to communicate better with the customer? Eddie: Look, were not gonna agree on this. Look, Eddie says, come into our Brooklyn showroom and pick something and then we can maybe talk. Maybe talk? I asked him if hed give me a discount. Well, I want to see what you pick first and then well talk. A shady maybe?Does any of this sound like good customer service to you?CONCLUSION:Eddie (Futonland) won the battle. He made a marginal profit off of me. On a $200 mattress, lets say he made a profit of $100 or even $150. But Eddie lost the war. And he lost all of my future business, all of the future business he might have gotten via my recommendations, and all future business that a good review might bring. Eddie was too shortsighted and failed to understand the fundamentals of good customer service and good business.Ill say this: Delivery guys were A++, a five-star experience for sure. They were on time, communicated clearly before the day of delivery, on the day of delivery, and even took my old mattress out for me. Those guys were a class act and the best part about any of this.

Best service Ive received in a very long time. I had something very particular that I wanted and they found it and got it and sent it!!! Updates along the way...great customer follow-up. Highly recommend!!! Product is great as they said it would be too!!! Kudos!! THANKS TO THE TEAM!

Did a lot of searching for a new futon mattress but all I could find was cheap mattresses until I found Futonland. They have the best selection of futon mattresses I could find. They have some higher end ones but you pay for what you get so spend a little more and get something that will last and youll enjoy. Ended up getting an Otis.

Loved, loved, loved, my futon purchasing experience, and working with Elvin Tejada.Elvin asked the right questions, then listened intently as I rambled on. I was then given a little homework, testing the feel, comfort, and ease in moving the various futon styles. The perfect suggestion, recommendationfor my needs were made by Elvin.I going to wrap up this review, because thanks to my prompt delivery & White Glove Treatment24 hours later, I going back to my luxurious chocolate covering, zero calorie futon.INext, seeking Elvins guidance for my Murphy Bed Mattress.
