I used to get bagels from here all the time. I stopped going into the store because the workers were rude and it gave me anxiety. But I still ordered their bagels sometimes because they taste good. Today, I found a latex glove (a whole finger) inside of the cream cheese spread. I literally almost ate it. How could they not notice this? Was it done on purpose? Grubhub gave me a refund and I called the restaurant to let them know what happened, and they hung up on me. Don’t get food from here.

Ive gone here my entire life. You can see that I reviewed positively with 5 stars under the same name about five years ago. This place has fallen apart, even as theyve renovated and cleaned up. And the reason is for the service. The bagels taste just as good as they always have. But the place has had its good vibe destroyed by the extremely rude behavior of its employees, but especially by one man who I believe even his own coworkers dislike. And he is the taller guy who works the register. He is always humiliating and disparaging his co-workers, talking back and behaving rudely towards customers, and creates problems and confusion with everyone. Then on the other hand they will mess up your order because their system for taking orders is highly flawed and then try to make you feel bad for asking them to make what you asked for. Three stars because the bagels and coffee are good, the place is clean with a bathroom.

Never had such a trash bacon egg and cheese take so long (20 minutes and more $2 expensive than bagel mill, you should go to bagel mill). Never ate a plastic bagel before. They’re also insanely rude to their customers even after they paid. No more anything from Tal Bagels!!!

Don’t go here. This place is terrible in just about every aspect. Went with a friend who ordered a bagel with lox and cream cheese and an orange juice and it somehow cost $23!! I stepped in before he paid to try to understand how it could possibly cost that much and someone stepped in to harshly inform that it was correct bc “that’s what we charge.” Staff is inexcusably rude and harries you to order fast but then they don’t remember it so they keep asking you to repeat it. I couldn’t possibly recommend this place less. Gets 2 stars because it’s clean, has a bathroom, and the actual bagel is okay

Tal Bagels make darn good bagels! A nice crunch on the outside with a fluffy, slightly chewy inside. They were great toasted but also delicious a regular temperature. Their customer service was also amazing! The staff was extremely helpful and open to answering questions with a positive attitude. Now, I can only speak for pick up service, but the place had a couple of sit down spots. The place small with most customers just picking up a bagel and/or coffee to go, but there was a constant flow of customers. We were also able to find street parking nearby relatively easily which was great! This is an awesome spot on the UES - I would totally go back again!

I came after a break from the MET, to have a delicious late breakfast. And I wasn’t disappointed. At 11 ish, there was enough room, and delicious bagels (probable the best I have tasted so far, which is a lot to say). I loved that the seats were separated, so you have good privacy in COVID times, and I just regretted that there wasn’t a more proper cleaning in the beverage self service side. That needs to be improved but all in all, the food and the place was a complete success, for mere 5 dollars.

Have gone here maybe 3-4 times; each time served as further confirmation to not return.Food is decent but way overpriced...its like ~$8 for a bacon egg and cheese. The bacon they use always seems off, more like Canadian bacon. The workers are consistently disorganized and rude. Frequent mixups with my orders which isnt surprising, given that they rush so fast they are barely even listening. One of the times when I went back to change the incorrect order, the persons response was What, you dont like ____ bagel? You know we have to make the whole thing over. If im paying 8 bucks for a bagel you best believe Im getting what I asked for.Havent been to any other locations but E86 is awful.

Best bagels in the city! Soft, chewy middle, chewy, crunch outside, everything seasoning in generous equal quantity on top AND bottom (this is very important!), fresh shaved salmon pulled off the fish and straight onto the bagel. I like a slightly flatter bagel with doughy chewy insides, so this was spot-on for me!

Very uncomfortable experience with some tall guy at the cashier who seemed to have no patience to customers nor to his co-workers. The place is very well designed and food is delicious but it really kills your mood when the staff is rude like that and they talk under their breath in front of you. As much as I’d like to sit there and enjoy the food it only makes me want to leave almost immediately.

Review №18

The bagels themselves are fresh, chewy, and the toppings are great: veggie or leek creamcheese, and the egg salad was yolky-rich instead of overflowing with mayonnaise. However, I had difficulty communicating my order to the staff, especially with all the plastic barriers in place. There line is run inefficiently, which leads to confusion and pileups at the checkout or even ringing up your order. That being said, the bakers dozen (actually 16 bagels) is a pretty darn good deal. The babka though .. at $16 a loaf, is pricey.

AVOID THIS LOCATION IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. I have nothing against Tal Bagels - they make solid bagels and other locations are generally fine - but here the service is so bad, you’re better off skipping your morning coffee and bagel. I generally only write positive reviews, but I’ll make the exception here. Many of the staff are downright rude for no reason other than they don’t want to be there, and let it out on you. Listen to me - it’s not worth your time, never mind the slow service and long wait. You may have had a positive experience. I’m generally very tolerant. The first time I let it by, the second time I let it by... but man, they just keep doing it.I’ll make one more comment about the bagels themselves. They are so inconsistent. Some varieties are alright, but many are flattened to the point that you’re getting half what you pay for.

Review №32

I want to start this review with a positive. The bagels are excellent. That is about it because everything else about this place is mind boggling. Their prices are way too high. The staff are either rude or apathetic, nothing else. Everything seems to be designed to be as inefficient and slow as possible. From lining up, ordering, paying, preparing the food, preparing coffee, literally every single process. It appears that there was no thought put into anything. It is actually miraculous that this place has been able to stay open as long as they have been because it does not seem that they know how to run a bagel shop. I go back every once in a while, hoping that their ever growing list of negative reviews will cause them to make some changes, but it somehow gets worse. I suggest they go down to Bagel Bobs on York and take some notes on how to efficiently run a bagel store.

If I could leave 0 stars I would! Came in to buy breakfast, ordered two everything bagels with scallion cream cheese, tomato, lox and onion. Add a toasted croissant with butter, a single cookie and a cup of fruit? $44 total. Get back home, the bagel has jalapeno cream cheese. I call to tell them and they yell at me that I am wrong, it is 100% not jalapeno cream cheese and ask me to take a bite. I do! IT IS JALAPENO (see picture)! They then say to bring it in and they will check. If it is, new bagels, if not you get nothing. Literally their words. How utterly disgusted I am with this place for such horrible response to what was clearly an honest mistake on their part and two wasted bagels because nobody here eats spicy cream cheese.

Way overpriced and not worth it. Ive noticed this places customer service has gone down steadily. Ive gotten hung up on when trying to place a pick-up order or rudely told to just come into the store multiple times. Its a PANDEMIC, and I live with someone immunocompromised. Also, if you want to just order a bagel with no cream cheese, they refuse to cut and toast it for you. Apparently, that additional service requires you to buy a side or a topping.
