I usually don’t like to give businesses bad reviews like this but I’m so fed up with this place. No matter which location I go to, I receive HORRIBLE service. I always approach people with sincere kindness and respect and I walk away from these people feeling like I’m a burden to them. After giving up on the Ave A location for repeated bad service, I decided to give this location a chance and wouldn’t you know it, they let me down. I literally asked for a “build your own breakfast sandwich with turkey bacon and cheddar cheese” and then I said “and of course the egg” which, admittedly, I sort of said under my breath, thinking it was implied since the name of what I ordered was actually “build an egg breakfast bagel sandwich”. When I received my sandwich with no egg, I politely said “I’m sorry, there’s no egg on this” to which the person who took my order replied “you didn’t ask for egg”. Like I said, I admit that I mumbled the part about the egg but nevertheless, I don’t appreciate the way they handled that. Working in a service based industry is not for everyone but so I hope this person can figure out what makes them happy and go be great at that because customer service isn’t the right career path for them.Paying $7 for 3 slices of turkey bacon and 2 slices of cheddar cheese on a dense, dry bagel was a disappointing way to start my weekend but luckily there’s tons of other places in this area whose employees know how to properly treat paying customers. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Davidovich has the most delicious bagels i have ever tried. whenever i bring a box of bagels to my friends they always rave about it for weeks!! sesame toasted with scallion cream cheese and lox is an absolute A+, and the chocolate twists have ruined all other pastries, knowing i will never consume anything that delicious ever again. i would give this place 50 stars if i could!!!

I hate doing bad reviews, but i need to let the people know that davidovich is trying to charge people almost 10 dollars for a breakfast sandwich with a micro sized piece of turkey sausage.the prices here have skyrocketed and the food isnt even that great, its mostly convenience for me. The customer service is pretty weak, on more than 1 occasion ive said toasted and ive received a not toasted bagel with cream cheese. There are places up the street from this location that charge 70% less and its 100% better than what they have here, you guys just happen to be the closest spot to my apt so you end up getting (too much of) my moneyplease step it up and have better customer service, and realize that 10 dollars for a breakfast sandwich is robbery.

So I saw a segment on Delicious Destinations and after hearing the owner tout how wonderful his products are, I decided to order some bagels and bakery items. Being originally from New York I wanted a “taste of home”. I paid a lot for overnight shipping...but....that didn’t even matter because ALL items arrived stale and/or burnt. Black and whites were over baked and the muffins were at least a week old! Bagels were hard ugh. What a huge disappointment and waste of money. Never again!

Wildly disappointing gluten free meal. I ordered their chicken pesto “with fresh mozzarella and roasted red pepper on cauliflower bread” for $12.99 - it also prompted for an additional, required cheese choice. Upon arrival, my friend and I were confused as to what could be in the tiny packaging and it turned out to be the chicken pesto lunch. It was just the “cauliflower bread” with pesto and chicken, no red pepper or cheese (required or otherwise.) A heads up for anyone else looking for a GF meal, this is not it. For comparison, my friend ordered a regular bagel for $12.95 and you can see the side by side for yourself.

They shouldn’t hire people who don’t want to help their customers. We love the location on Clinton Street and decided to get lunch at the Essex Market location. Big mistake—this short kind of chunky young guy with glasses was super rude and uncooperative. He literally said he didn’t care if Davidovich lost business.

Honestly pretty bad. I received two boxes of very stale pastries, after a long wait. I told a staff person about it and they were very helpful, but the manager came in and was rude, dismissive, and downright ugly. Not to mention I heard they fired an employee for being late after getting vaccinated (???) This is the opposite of what they should be doing. I usually dont write reviews but this was a bad experience + the context of it all made me very uncomfortable. wouldnt recommend to anyone.

Absolutely horrible experience, incompetent workers and complete lack of customer service. I placed an order on seamless and received a call that they no longer had salad and that I would not be able to be refunded but must exchange for ‘cookies or pastries.’ I was forced to contact seamless customer service for a refund for the salad. In the order I specifically asked for tofu scallion spread, as I am dairy intolerant and also specified what type of bagel and the ingredients. I received a plain bagel with cream cheese when I asked for everything bagel toasted and scooped of the dough.I contacted the vendor explaining that the order I received was incorrect and that I am dairy intolerant. He took down my original order (everything bagel toasted, scooped of the dough with lox, scallion tofu spread and tomato). I received the second attempted delivery and they sent me yet another bagel with cream cheese, not toasted or scooped up! I mean you must be incompetent to screw this up.Management, please train your staff or hire new, competent workers as your ingredients are not bad but your workers screw the whole experience up. Now I’m down 30 dollars with no salad and two bagels I cannot eat as I am intolerant to Dairy. Also, the OJ is 100% not fresh squeezed...The whole thing seems like a fraud...I notice you have similar bad reviews regarding your staff and schiesty behavior. Can’t you take a hint?

The bagel with nutella was lathered generously. The everything bagel with egg and cheese breakfast combo that I ordered was delicious and fresh. Warning though: the breakfast combo comes with a free tea or coffee. The workers would not volunteer this information to you. When asking for the coffee after paying for the meal, I was told that I shouldve told her that before paying for the order. This has tainted my experience with the bakery, which results in the 3 star review.

They subbed the French Toast with the Cinnamon Brioche and Apple Cinnamon Muffin, which didnt equal what I paid for the French Toast. I contacted DoorDash so that I could get a refund, which ended up totaling to almost $30 of the $35 that I paid for the whole order. No one wanted the Cinnamon Brioche, Muffin, or the Plain Croissants, so those ended up being wasted. If they had contacted me, I wouldve happily asked for substitutions that I knew would be eaten. While the Chocolate Rugelach and Chocolate Twists I *did* receive from my order were very moist, soft, and tasty, this experience left me with a sour feeling. Its kind of like that Forrest Gump saying, You never know what youre gonna get; since when you order, you wont know what they have in stock at the time, and what theyre going to sub out without telling you.In addition to the non-stock items and unwanted substitutions, it took over an hour for me to get my order. The Dasher had to wait a pretty long time for them to finish preparing my order, which I dont understand since everything is already baked and they literally just pick the items and toss them into the paper bag. Also, Im only on Mulberry & Grand.I dont think Ill be ordering from them again.

The bagels are great but the two young women who work there act like they want to be anywhere but there. They can barely muster a hello or thank you. We went, Sunday about 2 pm, for a late lunch. We specifically went for the gluten free bagel options. The counter person was nice, I asked what type of GF bagels they offered. The reply, Plain & Everything.I ordered a GF Everything bagel, turkey, lettuce, tomato, mozzarella and mustardWhat I got was, GF plain bagel, no mozzarella (which is paid for), turkey, lettuce, tomato and mustard. When I returned the sandwich I was told, we only had plain GF, so thats what we gave you. And then when I discovered there was no mozzarella, I was handed a containers of shredded mozzarella, for a sandwich.I mean, visit if you dare, but be aware, high on attitude not as much on customer service.Cold cuts were fresh though and GF bagel, was good and hot; they have to warm it up.

Sooo, I’ve been getting coffee at davidovich for at least for years at the Essex st market, one day I order a coffee from the same ‘barista’?, ‘bagelmaker’ that is ordered from for years, so one day I order a coffee under his breath he says we don’t have coffee, okay, thinking they’d just ‘run out’ I took it in stride, the next day I go back order a coffee, he says we don’t have coffee so I say do just not have coffee anymore? He says no, just espresso? WHAT, why did it take me that much effort to get that tiny bit of information from an establishment that advertises having COFFEE. Better training, a better grasp on how to communicate, a communications 101 course would be great.
