Very happy that the Art & Antiques Center is open...Sunday was my first time to return since March. Public spaces were spotless. The main entrance was manned by a very pleasant gentleman, professionally dressed with a tie. After saying good afternoon, he politely asked that I sign the guest book (for tracing, if necessary), took my temperature, then welcomed me to the Center. All very civilized. The Center is a treasure trove of virtually every possible period with something for every collector. My favorite shop is David Meyers Antiques on the lower lever just off of the spiral staircase. David is extremely well versed in his collections offered in his shop...one area of import is Chinese Export. Also an excellent range of European pieces. A very polite and articulate dealer...affordable prices, too!

Incredible treasures to find there. Its basically on of the best museums in Manhattan - and you can actually shop there. Even though you may need the necessary changes and space for some of the items. Incredible things to see in the many stores. Check it out for yourself :)

First impression was awful. I wrote an urgent(even put urgent in the subject box) and brief email to this building asking a simple yes or no question. Three days later no response or sign of them even opening it. I can imagine its busy over there, but three days straight of busy to where you cant read a 3 sentence email and say yes or no? Nah.

Ive been to the open-air Bermondsey Market and a number of others in London, in Amsterdam and Antwerp, over the years. Contrast them to a collective indoor consortium down the block from Sutton Place. Here, there are real professional-specialist types as to paintings, clocks, furniture, jewelry, sculpture, lighting, rugs, antiquarian books, Judaica, tapestry, china, crystal. Some dealers are approachable, some appear apathetic, but not one acts as if theyre doing you a favor. Like any time you need to spend discretionary resources, or sell what you hold, you need to do thorough research. Be sure of that authenticity. Once you do, you can be overjoyed with your prized possession(s) !Pertinent: Many vendors are closed on Saturday.

Highly recommended. Very interesting spot. There are literally dozens of independent stores spread across 3 levels. There are all sorts of treasures to find and deals to snag. They after open on weekends, even Sundays! Unfortunately many of the independent dealers are closed though. For the best experience, try to go during a week day.

A lot of big expensive pieces. Not a lot of variety or smaller items. Disappointed by the number of vendors with locked and closed stalls during business hours. Clean facility, the few people that were there were friendly and welcoming.

Imagine all your oldest relatives attics, furniture and fine silver tucked away in one location in individual stores of varying themes and prices. Many of the stalls are closed with contact information so you can only view with your face pressed against the glass or grates. Other stalls are open and staffed by friendly and not-so-friendly owners who seem bent on not selling their antiques. A mixed bag, but lots of fun to shop and worth the journey to the east side of Manhattan.

A number of interesting shops, but a little intimidating. Dissapointing number of shops where items are not clearly priced. Too many empty shops. The place feels like it needs a revamp to stay relevent. It could be a lot more user-friendly. Virtually nothing for collectors of mid century. Also a bit slim on eighteenth century English antiques, and very little Amercan. I live nearby and collect antiques, so Id love to see this place up its game.

It is surprising how big and assorted this Antiques Center is, from the street it looks like another store, but when you enter you get more than 5p different stores, where you have from books, documents, to jewels, silver and gold antiques, various countries I was surprised. It has several floors and even an internal fountain. There are places that have many things that should be entered with great care. Very well located and can be seen without problems from the street and very close to the subway E, M, 6, R, Q
