I remember the Piggly Wiggly from my childhood days. This one is tiny, but has an amazing selection for it’s size. We met Threk Michaels inside as well. What an absolute treat he is!

Unkempt, low brow, quick place to stop in when you are on the run. Good prices, just dont expect a high end experience. Easy parking.

Shop here everytime I come to NashvilleAnd its always the same. You get what you pay for. The meat sometimes is good and the other times well its nasty. The only reason I still come here is because of child hood memories of going to the local Piggly Wiggly in my hometown in East Tennessee with my grandparents as a child that is no longer there.

This small economy grocery store is the only thing that keeps its neighborhood frombeing a food desert. The produce and meat departments are very hit or miss and cleanliness is sometimes less than adequate.Staple foods and shelf stable things have an inflated price because this is the only grocery store for many in the neighborhood. The cashiers have always been friendly to me, but today I had a somewhat threatening experience where I was followed and stared at almost menacingly by several employees and then the cops showed up to watch me so it seems gay couples are not welcome here without being treated differently or having the cops called to intimidate us — just for shopping! I have always paid!Other reviews make it seem this may be a pattern of homophobia and racial discrimination as it seems many of the Hispanic reviewers were treated rudely.

Still a good place for food.

Great little grocery store! They have a good selection of basically everything you could need. Slightly less options then your typical massive supermarket but more than enough to keep pace and be great option if you are ok the area. I usually walk my groceries back and they are especially accommodating for that helping to double bag and make sure it will be easy to take with me. Not to mention the great service all around!

We love shopping at stores like piggly wiggly but this one wont get our business again. They did have a good sale on meats but the other items even in produce was high. I gave two stars for the good sale on meats. The staff was extremely rude. We had to go through twice and the reason for that was after we first checked out we was going to our car and we was approached by a gentleman who appeared to be homeless and he was asking several people for money or for them to buy him something to eat. We had to go back through so we could pay for the lunch meat and bread and other things we got him and the lady who waited on us was rude beyond belief. Called to make a complaint and was hung up on!

My partner and I where stalked by a maskless store manager grossly chowing down on a bag of chips while we shopped. I just waived back at him as he continued this super creepy behavior. It makes no sense since we have have shopped here for years. Not a super friendly place anymore and especially us queers.

In Thanksgiving for last minute items. My cashier was very nice warm soul. Even thought everyone was trying to tell her how to do her job, she had two employees given their input! She was nice calm as a cucumber, still wearing her smile treating all nice. This got to me feeling a certain way to her coworkers. 5 for the cashier.💃🏾🥰

Its a convenient small neighborhood grocery store that been in that location for over 50 years. Its hasnt always been a Piggly wiggly is still locally owned. Great place to shop if you want to avoid the bigger stores. The prices are competitive and they always have sale items. Good quality produce and meat departments. If you forgot something you needed and dont want to fight the bigger busy grocers this place is perfect. They have everything you need. If your looking for organic go to Whole $$$ Foods. Friendly service here for sure. Very reliable small grocer.!!! I shop here if I only need a few things. Like tonight I needed Black eyed peas a fresh onion and cornbread. Highly recommend!

I grew up shopping at a Piggly Wiggly. Is only a couple that I know of in the big city of Nashville but I go out of my way just to go there maybe it makes me feel a little bit like home. But theyre very nice its a small store and They still have the pick 5!

I havent been shopping at Piggly Wiggly in years. It was great! Brings back memories of younger years, just like a song.

When the manager looked me in the eye and smiled, I felt comfortable inquiring of him. You see, this was the only store carrying my favorite brand of burrito, but they were out. At first it appeared they were discontinued, but he did a workaround to find the new product ID and order me some. Upon my return to purchase eight bags, he promised to keep it in stock.

Cashier was friendly. She was an older lady. I was mask shamed by a cashier a previously by a young cashier, he was rude. Didnt have my mask with me that day, and at that time there was no mandate to wear masks.

This is a small neighborhood grocery-- a real rarity these days. The staff is friendly and dedicated. Ive seen some of these folks there for 20 years or more. The place is clean, well-lit, and full of bargains, if you pay attention and shop there on a regular basis. And the hot lunch offerings are good and affordable, compared to the fast food options in the area.

African American Female Cashier Had A Bad Attitude. Wasnt Friendly And I Didnt Feel Welcomed.

The cashier was rude because apparently they started charging 20 cent a bag or else you have to walk out the store with unbagged groceries. I asked where is the sign detailing this new policy. She pointed to a sign behind the register. I told her there should be signs up when you enter the store. That made her mad. This site is on Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN.They just lost a customer.

Bought some string cheese spent $5 ... Tasted horrible !! felt like sand like crumbs once I took a bite. smelled horrible !!! For a first time at a Piggly Wiggly I will never go back very disappointment. AND I checked the expiration date and it was not supposed to be expired!!!! I wish I could give no star

Pretty basic grocery store. Were there to pick up a couple things since we were traveling. Staff very nice.

I realize the store has been there for a long time. They had no public bathroom, because they said it wasnt handicapped accessible. Their meat selection was kinda small. The 5 for 19.95 was even smaller.

Bought a Piggly t-shirt here and everyone assumed I was a local thereafter. Id highly recommend you stop by and pick one up.Also, smokes are super cheap at the Piggly too. A+ Experience, would come by here again

Only reason 3 stars is the parking. Its hard to get out of.

Love This Place 5 Meats For $ 19.99 😁

Most of the staff here is very friendly, and the selection is somewhat better than you would expect from a Piggly Wiggly as this was the formal independent Apple market in Nashville, And still retains some of the character of an independent market. Unfortunately selection and choice are extremely limited and quite odd for a grocery and a now urban environment. If youre conducting anthropological research into what might be on the shelves and markets in rural Tennessee 25 years ago, this would be the place-- Plenty of white bread and generic things.

Ive never been to a grocery store without a public restroom (I asked; cashier was adamant they didnt have one.) Since I had to use facilities, I left & bought my groceries elsewhere. Theyre overpriced anyway, I generally only shop there for basics because location is convenient for me.

Another great Piggy Wiggy as the kiddos call it. All your basics plus are on the shelves. Selections arent as extensive as bigger stores but I have never walked out empty handed when I stopped in to get that item that I forgot at the other store. The staff always seems helpful. Parking can get a little crowded.

A face lift would sky rocket patronage. Seriously the backwoods grocery lost its appeal in the nineties. As yuppie as it makes me sound, I wish they could do a trader Joes style makeover to the place and give it Midtown /west end charm. I am afraid to purchase anything that can spoil when shopping there.

Small grocery off of 31st provides a small town feel with friendly faces to help navigate the store. Selection is a little limited, but has all the staples including fresh fruit and veggies and a deli.

Nashville country music celebrities put on dark glasses and wander around in here shopping for hot sauce and frozen pies. Amazing.

Great deals on meat better than Krogers

This is my local grocer and I stop by nearly 3-4 times a week to pick things up for dinner as Im walking home. The staff is friendly and they have a decent selection of your basics. Theres nothing fancy about this place, but if you need some bread, chicken, onions, eggs, catfish, etc, this place has it.

Great place to stop before work and get something to eat besides fast food

I frequently get lunch groceries here (peanut butter, avocado, tomato, bread). Their prices are much higher than grocery stores farther out from the West End area. However, you can usually find a deal on discounted breads (e.g., Pepperidge Farm bread loaves for $0.79) and other baked goods. Once or twice a week, there are good deals on fruits and vegetables that are near their expiration (i.e., within a few days). However, if you have a long grocery list, I recommend driving to the Kroger on 21st or another store farther away from West End.

Im on the fence about this place. The staff are all really nice, its a good location and easy to get in and out of most of the time, but I dont think their produce or meat depts. refrigeration is in very good health. At least half the time the produce and meat I get here seems to spoil really fast, so if I get anything here in those two depts. its usually to cook immediately. Ive had produce that looked great spoil within 2 days and had meat go from pink to brown in a day. Not all of the time, but a lot of the time this happens. The factory sealed salad greens are particularly bad about spoiling fast and dont seem to be refrigerated well at all. So I would say that this place would be great for some last minute shopping to complete the nights meal or for enough to last a couple of days, but shopping for a whole week or more doesnt work out too well.
