I went with Import Specialty Service because I was looking for local mechanics that worked on VWs. I got an oil change. The experience was pretty smooth, the service advisor (Ryder) communicated very clearly and was able to give me an accurate estimate for services. I believe the rates are competitive with other import and German car mechanics in Nashville. They sent an inspection report with clear images via email, which was handy. They also put a small box of mints in your car when you pick it up, which is a nice touch. They can get you an Uber for drop off and pickup from the shop on request. Overall, a great local mechanic, clear communication, not pushy, dont try to upsell you on anything. Highly recommend.

The team at Import Specialty Service did an amazing job on my car & the white glove service was beyond anything we were expecting. The best and most caring service I’ve received when getting my car maintenance. I typically took my Mercedes to the dealership to get maintenance just so I knew everything would be done correctly, but the care factor was never there. We came to ISS for an inspection of a 2005 Volvo XC70 that we recently purchased. We suspected that the vehicle may need some suspension work. The review that ISS provided was thorough and very detailed. They provided pictures of all the shortcomings that they found and delivered an accurate picture of the work needed to keep the vehicle safely on the road. Our service manager spent a great deal of time with us and was able to explain, in detail, why the repairs were recommended. I have no doubt that this is a stand up and honest team. These guys are definitely top-notch. I went in there with a 2011 LR4 with oxygen and intake issues. These guys went through the area thoroughly and repaired items that they did not even have to. These items were in relation to an error code that they were trying to fix as they thought it was with the initial issue. They never asked me for anything other than the vehicle. I am an extremely impressed with the quality of service and communication that they offered. As a business owner, communication is key. I would highly recommend this business for your import needs.

I could have received the diagnostic information from a Auto-zone or Advanced Auto for much less than the 300 plus it cost me from the dealer like repair center. As for value I saw none. There are other place equally prepared to do auto repair and not worry about the showmanship they portray to be like a dealership.. There is a reason dealerships all look so nice. Im not going to pay for the nice looks. I just want my car to run right.Bottom line. I would just stay clear of them because the value of the service they offer includes lots of extras to maintain the look and feel JUST LIKE A DEALERSHIP.

Doug and the service team gave us a 2nd opinion on significant engine work. They performed a detailed diagnostic and gave us 2 detailed options with pricing. They took the time to explain the the options and the risks associated with each. They also allowed us to speak directly with the senior service technician to get even more specifics. Months ago my truck went in for a water pump, radiator, and timing belt. This is a big job and I understand that. I dropped my truck off on Wednesday and was assured that it would be ready before the weekend. I got a call on Friday telling me that they had put the components together incorrectly and the timing was off. So it had to stay until Monday to fix the issue.I understand things happen but it was a huge inconvenience to not have a vehicle for the weekend. I didn’t ask for much, I simply asked if they could remove a broken bolt from my undercarriage for me to make up for the inconvenience.I didn’t ask for a discount or a loaner vehicle. I simply asked for a bolt to be removed that had broken off. It was broken when the truck went in so it wasn’t something they did. It attaches my skid plate and had snapped in half a while ago. To me it didn’t seem unreasonable. They have the tools and it wouldn’t have taken long. But instead I was quoted over $100 to remove the bolt.Your mechanic goofs and I’m without a truck for 3 more days and you can’t do me the tiniest favor?The quality of work was good. I will say that. But customer service could use some work.

Pros: friendly staff, good communication, and good work done in a timely fashion. Reliable.Cons: work is on the expensive side, and youre charged for diagnostics, unlike many other shops in the area. Due to wheel noise detected by their mechanic, I was told I probably needed at least one new hub assembly. Looking at their diagnostic costs, I took it to two nearbye shops instead, who correctly (and freely) found the issue to simply be loud tires. I believe Import would have gotten there, but at a cost to me.

My son moved to Nashville just a couple of months ago and his car that he relies on day today broke down. Not knowing where to go, he took it to some local repair shop that wasted time then told us there was nothing they could do. Our of sheer desperation, we used google reviews and took it to Import Specialty. I am VERY happy to report that we will be staying. Byron Cruz, our service advisor, was so personal, helpful, easy to talk to and understood a parents concern. He talked through the options, made sure we understood the pricing and got the car fixed and running very quickly. I had a weird battery drain going on with my 2016 Honda CR-V. The issue took over a month to figure out, but Import Specialty called to give me a status update everyday, and were 100% determined to find the culprit. Which was welcoming to hear, since we got into a situation where we were having to jump the car 3 times a day with a new battery. They were clear and up front with their charges. ALSO a very welcome situation with a repair shop. I recommend them highly.

Little did I know when my car tire got damaged while weekending in Nashville, that is was a rare hard to find tire. Luckily I found import Specialty. They made a bunch of calls and found a tire for me. They were great to work with I I would highly recommend them.

I had just purchased my baby (BMW 2012, 328i Convertible) and it had some trouble when I would accelerate after 60mph. I had checked the reviews and out of all the places this was the one with the best reviews so I figured I’d give it a try. From the two time I called prior to taking my baby, Krystal was very outgoing, cheerful, and professional over the phone, putting me at ease by stating that the technicians were certified in handling BMWs and would be able to fix my baby. I had told her that I had finally purchased my dream car and wanted to make sure he was in good hands. I was out of town so my best fiend dropped him off. After two days Mike called me up and explained what the problem was, he said that they could fix it and have ready soon. He mentioned other three things that he recommended be done but that the main reason why I brought him was the spark plug coils. I said let’s go ahead and have them done. They had it completed in two days. Mike and Krystal were excellent in communicating with me the entire time and letting me know when the car was completed and following up. They put two new tires on the back, a complete fluid wash, alignment, replaced all six spark plugs and the one coil that was bad, all for $1457. I picked it up and Ryder was the one that gave me the key, he was very kind and professional. They had placed a thank you card with mints in the seat and I thought was very thoughtful. Man, when I drove my boy on the interstate, I went from 40mph to 80mph in a heart beat without any issues or problems and it felt amazing! They really did a great job! If you’re looking for a place that will tell you exactly what is wrong and not up charge you or try to sell you into doing more to your car but more make good recommendations to your car, if you’re looking for excellent customer service on the phone and at the shop, and if you’re looking for a place that will definitely take great care of you and your baby (car), then Import Specialty Service is the place! I highly recommend them! :-)

My first time to use them. Thought I needed pads and rotors on our 2012 Mercedes 550. After they inspected, determined that they were ok. Advised on new tires for rear but no hard sell to purchase. I was feeling very vulnerable when my car broke down in a town 800 miles from home. My wife went to Google maps and typed in BMW auto repair and found these guys. First indy shop Ive dealt with. More reasonable than BMW shops, and good turn around time. Only complaint was we let them know the oil leak was from the top of the engine (we cleaned and traced it) but they assured us it was the bottom, fixed that issue and it continued to leak. It did end up being the top, but they got it fixed for us pretty quickly.

I needed brakes for my A7 I called and they scheduled me for a free diagnostic to ensure what I needed. The parts were ordered and they were very prompt with the service repair. 11/8/17I took my Honda Civic Hybrid to Import Specialty Service today for the 90,000 mile maintenance. This was a major service for the car.Ryder Gibbs scheduled the appointment for 8:00 AM which I mistakenly thought to be 9:00 AM. Even though I was 40 minutes late, I was treated as if I were right on time. The work was done and I was on my way at 11:00 AM.Everyone at Import Specialty is professional and more importantly kind, friendly, and honest. This attitude starts at the top and has been true with everyone I have interacted with over the many years they have serviced my cars.I have strongly encouraged friends to try them. Once you have experienced their service, you will never even consider going anywhere else.

Import Specialty Service is always thorough, quick, and easy to deal with. We have our 2006 Volvo serviced there and have never had a bad experience.

I think Import Specialty has great service and prices, the disadvantage is when you have to leave your car for a day or two. You have an additional expense by renting a car or finding a ride to work. There are no loaner cars, if there were loaners it would be great!

ISS has been the best mechanic I’ve ever taken a car. Their service has been thorough and friendly. My dad’s Audi’s can be kind of a pain when it comes to getting work done, but ISS makes the process simple for me.

Everything handled professionally, as usual. Its great dealing with Ryder. Main repair was treated under import Specialty warranty. Given that they never recommend unnecessary services, I knew the suggestion to flush cooling system was a good idea.
