When scheduling an estimate to have our roof redone, the lady on the phone was very thorough and explained it would be a 90 minute ordeal. She explained we would be making decisions on shingles and scheduling a date. Good start but it all went down hill when the employee (Mark) showed up. He showed up in what seemed like a personal vehicle (unmarked with no equipment). What started things off poorly was when One of the first things he said was “let’s take a look around and see if we can EVEN help you.”We walked around our property. He didn’t take down any notes or measurements.He KEPT asking what our budget was and gave an estimate of $15,000-50,000! (Btw, we had two other estimates where they took measurements, and quoted us $9,000-12,000). He must have asked 3-5 times how old our shingles were and when the house was built.He never showed any samples or brochures. Never asked when we would be interested in scheduling. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes.When we asked about color of shingles, he told us we could get whatever and he would email us the information. No email ever came.Either he wasn’t prepared to do a true estimate and/or he had no interest working with us from the start. Never have I felt so judged and not to mention what a waste of his time and mine.

Terrible experience, would not recommend and will not use again. Came recommended through a friend (will have to talk to them!), we had them install two doors and 7 windows on the back of the house. Installer showed up 6 hours late, there was no call or notification from their offices (we called them). They worked for 3 hours, very shoddy craftsmanship, damaged their own trim, gaps left, etc. We pointed out the issues and were overall pleased with the work when finally completed on day 2 (of what was to be a 1 day install per their offices), only to find that they FORGOT THE SCREENS. Now I cant even open my new windows and have to wait at least a month before they are available for install. They were middle of the road for price, but we will be searching out a different company for the front and side windows.

When the salesman found out that we were just starting to look at doors and that he wouldnt get a quick sale, he rushed through things and said he would get back to us in an hour. We have never heard back from him.

Very great quality and value. Installed new windows throughout the entire house! We Would recommend to others.

I would encourage anyone using Window Works (especially in the West suburban area of Chicago) to GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. After being given an estimated 4-8 weeks time by our salesman to have a patio door installed (and circled the timeframe-but not signed-on the contract) we were told it would actually be 6-12 weeks. The door took 14 weeks to be installed (2 of those days were due to weather) AND WAS NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY. 17 weeks later we are currently still waiting for them to come back for a 3rd time to fix errors. We have used Window Works in another location and did not find any concerns so perhaps it is just in this region, but we have had nothing but bad experiences from the sales to installation. Again, if you decide to use their product, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING and signed by yourself and the sales person, and dont accept and pay for work until the work is to your satisfaction. We found out the hard way.

I purchased windows last year from them. I am very impressed with how much of a difference they made in my energy bill. The customer service was above and beyond. I recently spoke with Katy in the outbound center and she was able to help me with a service issue and gave me the service number. I would definitely recommend window works to people and keep them in mind for future projects.

The customer service Vanesa had was great and she was just the sweetest. My grandma met with the reps and she ended up buying. Will definitely be referring them for the future.
