Refrain is what I highly recommend anyone planning on dealing with the service department at Bill Jacob’s VW.Regrettable is the word comes to mind when I think about my recent experience of visiting this dealership for a software upgrade on my leased vehicle.Bob is a character who is living on a different planet in some parallel universe believing the service appointment is not a guarantee for any service done in time but just an opportunity to speak with a service representative. He carried a disrespectful tone while I stop by with my two kids to find out the status of service after 3 hours past the appointment. My kids were surprised and confused about the ordeal, and I couldn’t explain it to them.I deal with two other dealership in the vicinity for service on my other vehicles, but never had such a discourteous experience.I am not sure how Bill Jacobs keeping employees like Bob in service department.

We had a very smooth experience buying our new car with Bill Jacobs VW. Our sales manager, Gerardo was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating while we were there. We really enjoyed our test drive experience with him and overall purchasing experience. We were told up to 2 weeks for our new cars delivery and it took 11 days. The dealership has water, coffee, and snacks. The waiting area was clean. We have not used the service department yet. Thanks Gerardo & BJVW!

My experience was the worst. I brought it in for a recall & routine service. I was upsold on 2 additional items. Although I had an early morning appt the work didnt begin until the next day. On top of this they failed to do the recall work. It took 5 phone calls on my part to finally get thru to someone who would admit they dropped the ball.This is a place that has the appearance of service but its only a show. Use them at your own risk.

Terrible service from start to finish. I was looking to get my car serviced, with an oil change, top off of coolant, and a tire rotation. During my scheduling call I was told the process would take an hour and a half, so I proceed to schedule a time for 10:30. I arrive to my service appointment on time, expecting to spend the hour and a half there, and then I am quoted that the service could take the entire day. No loaner car or alternative mode of transportation is offered. After the service was completed I retrieved my car, and found that one of the rims had been damaged during its time during the service. The rims were refinished the week prior and had no damage coming in. I called my advisor and was dismissed completely, saying he could do nothing. Not returning after the carousel of information presented about time, and being dismissed regarding the damage my vehicle had taken.

No consistency with just using a single email thread to keep track of communication and documents.Poor coordination of vehicle transfer:Earliest I could do to go back out to Naperville from Chicago was Thursday but dealership kept pushing for papers to be signed. Salesman offered to come out to my office to sign them earlier than the Thursday I could go out there. I said if they were willing to do this I’d be fine with it assuming Id still go out to pick it up - I understand places want to lock in sales. Flash forward to me receiving a call stating he’s ten minutes away with the car. Mind you, closest communication there ever was about them offering delivery was me asking about it if it was an option two days ago. Long story short, I tell them to drive it somewhere else so I can drive my current car at work back home (what did they expect me to do with two cars at work?). So had to cut work short and drive up to meet to get car and sign papers.In general, I get they were trying to be helpful with getting me the car quicker a couple of days by delivering it but it just ended up being more inconvenient than anything because I had to unexpectedly cut work short, had to coordinate parking the new car on the streets away from resident zones (I live in Chicago) before getting correct city stickers that would allow me to park, and they also forgot to grab the second key for the car. So, now I’m waiting on sales documents to be mailed so that I can show proof of purchase in order to purchase said city stickers to legally park.Good intentions but just poor execution on multiple fronts. Solid 3/5
