About a year ago, I took my car here because I needed an oil change and my muffler was rattling so I assumed something needed replaced. They were honest and told me it was only my heat shield that needed tightened. They did it for no cost and even did a check up on the rest of my car. I was really pleased with the service and the convenience of the online booking. However, when I returned this year for a state inspection and oil change, they found some problems with my car and failed it, quoting me $1,100 (!!!) for repairs. They basically made it seem like it was extremely unsafe for me to drive it and like they werent going to let me take it anywhere else. I had to sternly decline the service and reiterate my right as a customer to shop around and get second opinions. They finally gave me the fail sticker. I took it to the mechanic who has been working on my familys cars for generations even though hes located about an hour away from me now and he is going to be able to fix everything AND rotate my tires for only $550. Literally half the cost. Moral of the story: stand up for yourself and shop around. Id say theres a 99% chance you can find a shop to do work on your car for about half the cost.

Dropped my car off to get a quote for all around brakes, rotors, and an inspection. When they called and told me it would be $1200, I quickly declined (because that is outrageous) When I picked the vehicle up, I was informed they put a rejection sticker on my car! Ps, it had a June 2021 Sticker on it and this is May. When I asked for an explanation, the guy behind the counter shrugged his shoulders. That was completely uncalled for due to the fact I would not pay their outrageous prices for brakes/rotors. I would highly discourage anyone from going to Monroe.

I love it here. The guys are so nice and I never feel like I’m being taken advantage of, which happens a lot when you’re a woman walking into a repair shop. They always do their best to squeeze me in too.

Ive brought a couple different vehicles to this Monro over the past 4 or 5 years, and even though I dont live in Morgantown anymore, I still try to make it down there for my oil changes. I of course expected prices to increase over the past months, especially due to Covid, but not double! Ive always paid $30 something (no more than $40) but this last time I was in, I was charged $82 for the exact same oil change on the exact same vehicle. This was the basic oil change, not a premium, expensive oil, etc. That was ridiculous! I definitely wont be back....I expected to pay a little more because of Covid but certainly not double the price....wow!

I called pretty last minute near the end of the day desperately needing an oil change. I called and the friendly clerk told me no need to make an appointment just to come in and they would get me right in. And they did. Immediately! They didnt try to up-sale me on anything or suggest more work. They were quick, professional and extremely friendly. I highly reccomend this shop!

Avoid this shop.In this place you should expect the worse service ever. They took my flat tire and they said it should be fixed by the end of day and. I was waiting outside of the their shop and entered the shop before 15 minutes of their closing time and the guy said we didnt have time to fix it because he has just one guy in the shop without considering my waiting time. He should tell me that at the beginning before he receive my flat tire even I called them before I drove to them to make sure they will be able to fix it and they confirm that on the phone. This is not the case, he asked to keep the tire with them and they will fixed it next day and keep the car on jack in front of my house all the night without considering the risk of that. I left with my flat tire and he didnt even apologize. I will not go to this place again ever.

I had the pleasure to receive service from the Blankenship twins, very knowledgeable, helpful, understanding and overall professional. I was driving through noticed my tires needed to be changed while refueling, I had 7+ hours of driving ahead of me and I was in and out in 45 mins. Very fair price including road hazard protection. Well done men.

Ill absolutely be back here.The location isnt convenient to me, but they immediately diagnosed a problem NTB couldnt find after 3 separate visits, and they charged perfectly fair prices for Morgantown to boot. Thirty minutes after dropping it off, they called me with a complete, accurate diagnosis and the exact price. Two hours after dropping it off, they were DONE. They fit in my appointment with less than two days heads up.I didnt find any grease smudges in my car or anything else like that. It never felt like they were talking down to me or trying to rip me off because Im a woman. You can watch them work on your car from the waiting room pretty easily. You can never trust how well a warranty will work in practice just based on what a mechanic says, but I honestly feel good about them honoring it if anything happens.

Took my car in to get the tires balanced. They told me I also needed an alignment I opted not to get the alignment and when I got my car back it was much more out of alignment than when I took it in. I am not accusing them of taking it out of alignment to force me to get more work done. However I am extremely disappointed that I spent $50 and two hours to have my car leave in worse shape than when it came in. Will not be going back. Side note manager is a very nice guy.

Usually have great service here. However, this time dropped a car off for a tire and oil change at 10am Saturday and told them no rush. We were assured it be done by Saturday. Saturday evening, car is still not done, which was no problem. Called Sunday at 2pm, car still was not done, but we were told it be done in about an hour. Arrive at 4pm, car is still sitting where we left it on Saturday. 2 hours later, Car is still not done. Very disappointing from a usually dependable place.

I have had amazing customer service at Monro on the Mileground in Morgantown. Angie, the Manager, was absolutely amazing and squeezed me in last minute to get brake pads and tires on so that I would be safe driving during my trip. She price matched a different store for four new tires, and gave me the best deal that she could. She went above and beyond and I cannot say enough good things about her. Great experience and I highly recommend!

I am so blessed to have came into contact with such an amazing crew and manager! They took car of my car, like it was their own. John was truly a blessing. And his staff took the time to explain what was wrong with my car and how to fix the issues that my car had. Dustin even went above and beyond to explain in detail on various aspects of what needs replaced or when it will. These guys are amazing!!!! I seriously recommend them to any and everyone. This place is terrible!! they had my boyfriends car for 2 months, and when they said it was finally “ready” it broke down again! So of course they kept the car for another two months, and we ended up having to total the car out and get a whole new car. Clearly they don’t know what they’re doing. I would not recommend them at all.

It’s 7:38 pm and I still do not have tires mounted and an oil change for my 5 pm appointment. However, they made it right and provided me a discount. Took a while but it was nice that they acknowledged the delay. At bottom they are good guys, but probably need an extra hand or two.Overall a good place.

Called them to set up an appointment, was sent to busy, no option to leave a voicemail. Tried to set up an appointment online. I needed a state inspection done. The main Monro website says they can do inspections, but I got an email the same day of my appointment saying they dont do inspections at this location. Couldnt you guys put this information online somewhere instead of wasting peoples time? The email they sent me recommended that I reschedule to next month?? Why would I bother rescheduling if you dont do the one thing I needed in the first place???

Installed tires that I had purchased, on a Sunday when nobody else in Morgantown would even speak to me on the phone. Treated me with respect, which is hard to get when youre a woman looking for auto repair work. They didnt try to rip me off either. Very busy shop which was fine because they do great work! If youre looking for an honest reliable mechanic Monroe is where you want to go

Highly recommend this place and Justin was a life saver!! After waiting for nearly a month on another place that kept telling us “we are waiting on the parts to come in” for a repair that they said was going to run us $500, we decided to get another opinion and took it to Monro, and we are so glad we did! I was really nervous and awkward and clueless, I’m a young woman that knows nothing about cars, and I didn’t have much money but one of my tires went flat (again). They filled it for me free of charge and looked really hard for a hole or damage but found nothing. They didn’t charge me and were SO polite and friendly the whole time I was there. Air conditioning and vending machine in waiting area. Very professional nice guys.

Had an incredible experience at this place. They took me in after hours when they were already super busy and replaced all my spark plugs so that I could get home. Devin was my mechanic and he was a champion! I was treated so well and they went above and beyond what they would have had to do. I definitely recommend this place!

Took my car there for a rattle on my muffler was told that a weld had broken loose and was needed to be replaced fully was going to cost me $600. Lifted the car up myself and only had a loose bracelet a simple $40 fix...

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! They charged me $920 for an oil change and a full brake job. The worst part is how they insisted on replacing my oil filter cap because it was tough to get off, and then replaced it with an aftermarket cap that was NOT made for my car. My car violently pumped out oil and made a giant mess when I drove it. If I didnt catch it in time, the engine wouldve been toast. If I could give this place NEGATIVE stars I would.

These guys were awesome. I came in for an oil change and they found that my oil pan drain had been stripped previously and was leaking. They plugged it with a tap (for now) and heavily discounted my bill since I had been waiting for a while. While its a bummer to need a new oil pan I appreciated how respectful they were of my time and $.

This is actually my wifes experience in Auto Service and Tire centers. The gentlemans name is Devin. He is the pillar in the technician team. He cares people and peoples cars. He has such a gentle and humble attitude towards all his customs. The most important of all is his excellent technique skills. My wifes car has alignment and other issues. Devin and other pals fixed the problems in speedy and excellent ways. This is actually my wifes first time to visit there. God bless Devin and the center!

My daughter was stuck with brake problems on a Saturday. These people were the only garage in town able to do the job.I had AAA tow the van to them and they had it fixed in two hours. When she came to pick it up that evening, they were still working at 9:30pm.So happy I found these people and wish them all success. They deserve it!

DO NOT waste your time and money with this place. They will give you a time estimate, however it typically takes hours if not a full day longer. Extremely disorganized, most employees are unaware of how to even check a customer out. The worst customer service I have ever received. The girl behind the desk who has no customer service skill whatsoever proudly announced she was not an employee while trying to intervene with transaction completion. They will offer free things to make up for their incompetence, but don’t be tricked. Very unprofessional, unreliable and disappointing.

Great service on my Toyota Rav4, excellent mechanics who showed me what needed fixed and they fit me in on a Sunday. Second time there and I am for sure going back again. Had my 105k mile tune up, oil change, new rear shocks and new tires done there. They even fixed the mysterious clanking noise thats been driving me crazy for years that three other shops havent been able to fix, including the Toyota dealership. Happy returning customer!

We got a flat tire once we picked up our granddaughter, it was the valve stem broken and Monro Auto was the closest place but upon arriving they were packed every bay filled and my husband asked a mechanic how long because our granddaughter was getting restless, the mechanic stopped what he was doing and replaced our valve stem immediately and even put a tester on our battery!! I will give a high rating this time. Ive been taking various vehicles from my family here for years now. Initially service had been great, then in the last year or so, things seemed to be sliding. At one appointment, I had waited 2.5 hours for a simple oil change/tire rotation I said I would wait for, not drop off. They werent finished with it until after their stated closing time, and couldnt manage to rotate the tires because the last time I had the vehicle there, they forgot to replace the key for the locking lug nuts (which is now lost permanently) from the last rotation. I figured I would give them a final chance before finding a new place to take my vehicles, since I had been going there for years. I was told management is getting rearranged right now and it seems promising, because even with only one person in the shop, I had an oil change and tire rotation completed within an hour. The new manager was easy to talk to, and seemed to communicate well with his workers. If things continue on this trend, I will definitely remain a loyal customer.

Made appointment in advance to have a front end alignment done, rotate tires, and balance 2 tires. Walked in and the entire service area (not kidding) was a disaster. There was garbage everywhere, how can they work safely? 1 1/2 hours later, still not getting in. Called another place for the service to be done next week. Does not look liked certfied mechanics, grease monkeys maybe, go look for yourself. Not exaggerating.

After hearing an annoying squeak coming from my brakes, I scheduled an appointment to have my brake pads changed. Once the guys took my tires off, they found that my brakes were still in good shape. Since no additional work was required, the check was done at no charge. Thank you to all of the guys for their great customer service. I will definitely return when I do need new brakes.

I took my car to Monro to get the tires changed. They only had one trainee mechanic and the manager, Bill, working that day. They didnt tighten the lug nuts properly and later that day my back left tire fell off of the car in the middle of the highway. It was a very serious situation. They didnt make a mistake; it was simply negligence.Later they told me that they would fix my car and have it ready in a few days, and they said that they would take care of it instead of filing an insurance claim. My car sat outside without completely being looked at for 6 days and then they finally said they were now going to a file a claim. It took them a week to provide me with a rental car, and it was pretty clear they werent concerned about the inconvenience that they had caused me. Furthermore, they told me that they would communicate with me frequently throughout the process. Bill, the manager, never contacted me once throughout the process. Not once. I had to call his boss to get more information.They didnt apologize or act appropriately (by working hard or quickly) after they severely damaged my car and put my life in jeopardy. It was simply an unprofessional job, and they obviously dont put a lot of care in the work that they do. I leave this experience feeling taken advantage of and not respected as a customer. I would highly recommend going somewhere else.

I rarely leave reviews. But—I’ve had issues for almost the last year with my older Jeep Patriot. Each and every time, I’ve decided to bring my vehicle to Monro. Previously, I’d taken my car to different shops around Morgantown and paid a ton and experienced poor recommendations and less than stellar service. Everyone at Monro has put me first...from squeezing me in and working late to fix my car to providing reasonable rates. I’ve had tires replaced, oil changed, coils replaced, and struts replaced....and wouldn’t recommend going anywhere else!

We had driven about three hours to West Virginia from DC for a weekend camping trip. Once we arrived at the state park, we realized our tire was leaking...badly. It was late on a Saturday, and we weren’t sure what our options were. After calling around, we were relieved to find Monro open. Drove very slowly (on runflat tires) to the shop and Devon took care of us in about a half hour. Great, friendly service that didn’t cut into our camping trip. Thanks Monro!

I would add negative stars if allowed. The current franchise owner is not the same as it was a few years ago when Monro Mileground was trustworthy and competent. AVOID them at all costs. They do not do inspections by choice. They had their inspection privileges revoked.

One of my struts broke and my cars suspension was held on by one spring. I needed help and they quoted the fix, saved me money on an oil change (along with reducing costs on miscellaneous fees and labor) , and gave me a detailed inspection of how the struts were functioning. I was kept safe because they gave full explainion to the risk I was in driving my car. Dustin was a fanominal mechanic and he serviced me like a friend rather than a customer. Would highly recommend!

I’m currently waiting 2 hours and counting and they haven’t touched my car as it is still sitting in the parking lot waiting to be worked on. I brought my sedan to Monro for an oil change in September 2016. The mechanics carefully explained the wear on my tires and brakes and made reasonable maintenance recommendations.Service to my vehicle required about 75 minutes, which the staff considered excessively long, and I received a discount to compensate.My experience was positive, and I gladly recommend Monro.

Went above and beyond to fix a problem for me- they literally came to my house to put oil and a new plug on my car after it had all fell out because of a faulty oil drain plug so I didn’t have to worry about towing or even leave my porch. The owner is by far the most honest and helpful mechanic you’ll find in this town.

This location is the Mileground Rd., MORGANTOWN, WV. We were there a car inspection before a long trip. Made an 8 am appointment. Was there before 7:45. No employees...750 no employees...8 am...no 815 no. 820 someone finally show up. Spoke with dealer..keys taken. Went across road. Had some breakfast. Go back..car hasnt been moved. Hes waiting on two friends buying tires already on the lift to have them mounted. WHAT....we got keys ... Left....went Fairmont Monroe and it was excellent. Curteous...efficient and fast. Thank you

PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT, do NOT GO HERE!I took my car in for a belt change, went to pick it up and there was grease from an employees coveralls ALL OVER my seats and carpet. I told Chris (manager) that this was not acceptable, he said he would take care of it. Later, they said my car was ready to go.. still filthy!.. Again, told the manager that this was not acceptable. He asked me to give him more time with my vehicle and it will be ready for pick-up by the end of the day. Hours went by, no phone call.. I called 30 min before closing time and was told that both of my seat were wet and they needed the car there overnight to dry. I went directly to the shop and my vehicle was in the same place that I left it, seats dry and still FILTHY! Nightmare! Our cars are our investments, do not take you investment to these people!

*READ READ READ* I took my Subaru here in November of 2015; upon arriving to my appointment I could hear the employees talking about not having the right size oil filter for my car. After a few minutes had passed nothing else was said so I asked did you find the right filter? To which they replied oh yeah, weve got it.A few weeks go by and my Engine oil level low light comes on. Upon checking under the hood it was a DISASTER!! The oil filter they put on was too small so all the oil had been splashing out around the base of the filter, oil was everywhere. I put in enough oil to make it to a Subaru dealer to get it fixed.After the Subaru dealer in Winchester, VA (excellent staff and a job well done) finished with the oil change they were at a LOSS FOR WORDS; they told me that the oil plug was finger loose and that it was leaking so badly they were shocked I even made it to them.MONRO could have absolutely ruined my engine, and more than that; I called for a refund and spoke with Bob (the manager), he was very polite and understanding and told me the guy who did my oil change no longer worked there and told me he would send a refund check right out; needless to say Ive never received the check. This is a terrible business through and through. My $70 oil change almost turned into a $27,000 loss.UPDATE: Manager Bob told me my refund check would be here within a few days, I just called and Manager Jeff told me the refund checks take 3 months and that Bob should have given me cash out of the drawer, I tell Jeff that Id be in today to get the cash and he could cancel the check and he said he couldnt do that because a.) he didnt have cash in the drawer (what?!) and b.) he couldnt cancel the check.

I would not give this shop even one star if it weren’t for the fact that it made me give a rating to be able to post. This was by far the worst experience with a shop I have ever had. They were rude and extremely unprofessional. They over charged for the work they were suppose to do but did not, and then yelled swore and pushed through my husband and myself and had all the employees trying to intimidate us by cornering us by a door. In the end they created more work to be done on my vehicle, and an unsafe vehicle that I have to put our children in. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with the human race at this point. To be treated the way my husband and I were today just saddens my heart that people treat others the way we got treated today. Ive previously had great service at Monroe over the last 3 years. When I went today the awesome manager (Chris?) was no longer there. The new guy wasnt knowledgeable at all. None of the mechanics were the same as 6 months ago. It opens at 7:30 yet none of the mechanics were there yet at 8:15. Bad sign but I convinced myself they were all in a meeting with the manager. I was wrong.I left my van for an alignment and got a call 4 hours later saying that the alignment cannot be done for a list of reasons that werent even remotely true. I was told that it couldnt be aligned because the tires werent new, the tie rods and steering box were worn, and the caster/camber was not adjustable. All lies. Because I had replaced the steering box 3k miles ago with the best unit on the market and tie rods 8k miles ago. Every other alignment specialist knows that the alignment is done at the hubs and not at the tires making the worn but even tires acceptable for alignment.Got the van back driving way worse than when I dropped it off. It was pulling hard to the left and the steering wheel 20 degrees of Center clockwise.Promptly took it to Rainbow tire who verified that my steering box, ball joints, and tie rods were fine. The toe was way off and they apparently fooled with what they claimed was the non adjustable caster/camber bushings making the left side camber 3 degrees less than the right side causing the pulling issue. Even tire was evidence that the alignment had been close enough before they touched it.As a mechanical engineer and a past mechanic I know when Im being lied to when it comes to cars. They could have told me the truth that they messed it up and I would have been more ok with driving away in an unsafe vehicle wondering if my wheels were going to fall off before I got home. Instead they told me that I need to go to the incompetent mechanic that put the tie rods in and have them fixed before they would touch it again. I put the tie rods in myself.TL:DR- They messed up big time, lied, and blamed everything on me. Rainbow tire didnt have a problem doing the alignment.

The stated opening time, both online and on the door, is 7:30 a.m. They arrived and unlocked the door at 7:51, with 3 people already waiting outside.This could be forgivable, because things do happen sometimes. However, when the owner (?) passed through the 3 of us waiting, she didnt apologize. She didnt look at us or say anything at all. She just walked past, unlocked the door, entered, and let it close behind her.I am a patient and forgiving person. Had she apologized, or even just been pleasant, I probably would have stayed--though of course their inattention to time makes me concerned they would be inattentive to their work, too. But being ignored after waiting outside for 16 minutes (I arrived at 7:35) was too much. I took my business down the road to Dinsmore Tire, where I was in and out by 8:15.

I have gone to this same location 3 times in the past year (for oil changes, tire rotation, and state inspection) and I really cannot rave enough about the service I received. I have recommended this location to 2 others, who came back to me and said they had good experiences as well.Chris Weller, the manager, is a really great guy... and an honest one. As a paralegal and mechanic, he gave me advice on what to look for, what is legal to charge, what isnt legal to charge, etc. He clearly looks out for the best for his clients - even if he knows they might not come back to his shop.I overheard him over the phone today, while waiting for my car to be inspected, discussing what I sensed to a less favorable business arrangement on the clients end, He was nothing but straightforward, professional, and honest with the person. He doesnt do just what is best for his clients, but also thinks about what is best for his business - something I believe is tough any to remember when they are inconvenienced.So, in summary... this is a great location to bring your car in Morgantown. DO IT!!!

I would highly recommend not having your breaks fixed/replaced here. I had my cars breaks replaced here. 3 times. The same breaks. Pieces and parts kept falling out and I had to have my car towed there several times to fix the breaks again and again. In total, my car was there for about a month. Finally, I had my car towed to Dougs because paying someone else was better than sinking more time/money into Monro. Dougs fixed Monros mistakes within 3 days. Sadly Im out $1000+ for shoddy work and had to deal with the hassle of not having my car. Please use local garges here in Morgantown. It really, truly isnt worth it. On top of it, for the month they have your car, they wont ever call you with updates. To their credit though, there arent enough mechanics there.

The service is good because they will insure the parts for life. However, dont leave any personal items in your vehicle. One of them mechanics stole my Nintendo Switch out of the drivers side door. Make sure you remove anything you dont want to lose.

Im giving 2 stars because the mechanics there really know what they are doing. They are exceptional but the manager named John has to learn how to talk to people. I got my oil change from them but when I got home my car wont start. I called them and the manager picked up and I told him the problem. He instantly started swearing and yelling at me saying it is not their fault. I tried to reassure him that I am not blaming anyone but he kept cursing and yelling at me. I still kept my calm and tried to apologise but he told me to have my lawyers call his lawyer and said, goodluck because this is a multimillion dollar company. Mind you that all Im trying to do is get my car fixed. After saying that without listening to anything he hung up on me. I tried calling back and he picked up, I said Ill pay for everything just take a look and see whats wrong. He hung up again without saying anything.I recommend going to another place because if they accidentally mess up while working on your car, get ready to be yelled at and feel threatened for your physical safety .

Go somewhere else.Charged me $30 to tell me I needed tires. The receipt says, use of shop equipment, as one of the charges. Apparently shop equipment was my gas money and his boot, because all he did was drive it around the block and kick the tire. 30 bucks is more money than the average price on an inspection sticker.*Had to edit to two stars for the staff. They were polite at least.

Terrible service 9 hours for a 30 minute job and wasnt done right. now i have no brakes and have to go elsewhere and pay someone to fix their mistakes. i will never go there again and would never recommend anyone else waste time and money going there.

Great service. In and out in a reasonable amount of time for my oil changes, but the waits can get long depending on how busy they are (and they do get really busy). They also went out of their way to diagnose a major cooling system issue with my Fiancees car and we had the car back the very next day. 5 Stars!

I was reading some of the negative reviews, and I must say these people must not be happy with anything. I was broke down and was brought to the Monro on Mileground. My husband is in military overseas, I was traveling alone with my 2 year old and 5 year old. The manager John was one of the kindest and patient person I have had the pleasure of working with. I despise garages, I feel uncomfortable sitting and waiting. This place was totally different. I was treated better in the waiting area of this Monro then I was in a hotel last night. I sat in this lobby for over five hours with my kids. It was not because they was slow, it was because my car was in terrible shape and the part had to come from Pittsburgh. While sitting in waiting area, I witnessed Manager John being cursed out because he told a customer it would be 15 minutes to get them in. He continued to keep his smile and professionalism through the phone, nasty customers and his staff. My opinion this manager is waisting his talents working in a garage. All I can say, anyone who has a problem with the service at this location, is absolutely ignorant. I witnessed the mechanic come to each customer hand them their keys and thank them. No place else have I witnessed this. My mechanic little Joe they call him, was great. He explained to me the issue and worked hard to get it fixed. They even bought my kids and I lunch. Big All pizza. I would love to Thank Manager John, Mechanic Little Joe and the rest of his staff for taking care of my kids and I. We made it the remaining 330 miles to my parents and the van runs better than ever. Great service, great people, great prices. If the people of Morgantown does not use this Monro it is their loss.
