Helpful people that are always friendly. They go out of their way to find home repair solutions that are appropriate and long-lasting. They are the answer to the disposable economy of the big box stores.

Ordered a new grill for delivery and assembly with Ace and couldnt be happier. They ended up delivering early and the grill looks great. Delivery went great, guys were professional and took care with unloading the grill that was a beast.

If they dont have it, you really dont need it.They still hand cut glass, keys, match paint colors, and have bait to boot. God I love this store!

I got a flat tire on the interstate. I pulled off and into ace hardware. I asked the gentleman if I could possibly use an air compressor to pump up my tire. He did it for me and told me where the closest repair shop was since I’m not from the area. Very helpful and kind!

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I EVER HAD!!! I was looking for a screw that would fit inside my car and less than 5 mins they helped find the correct screw!!! When you go inside it is staffed they are all kind! I would always come back here just to get a screw or anything in general!!

Andrew and Marcus delivered our Weber gas grill. They wore masks and were professional and accommodating. Andrew gave me a quick run-through of the new features of the model plus hooked up the propane tank. They even helped me move my old grill to the front yard for trash pick-up. Great to support a neighborhood business. As always, excellent customer service.

They always have what you need, and super fast. Parking in back, and street parking all around. They also specialize in south minneapolis home hardware so I can find brass replacement hardware for my older home and it matches what I had prior. Also, they have some good dog bones that keep my golden busy while I work on the house.

Great spot to refurbish your old house windows! I bought a foreclosure that has rotten/broken double pane windows. I removed them and brought them here and they fixed them up. I also brought in a couple buffet windows to have panes replaced and had them rebuild wood screens for a couple single pane architectural windows. Reasonable prices and great service!

Super helpful employees. Very friendly. I thought I had the parts I needed. When checking out, I was speaking with he cashier just casually about it. And, during the casual conversation, it came up that the pieces I thought were correct were in fact not. So, he guided me to the right section, helped me pick out the correct pieces, and bam. Worked perfectly.This is just my most recent example of their friendliness, helpfulness, and great customer service.

It was nonstop panic. Panic and trepidation for what was to come. But then I recalled that earlier that day id noticed a very special shop. So I did what had to be done and stopped in for some adhesive(although I didnt at the time know which specific adhesive I wanted lol). The staff were very nice, helpful, and attentive, which as a first time customer(thatd be me lol) is nice to experience when on the hunt for adhesives(which, again I didnt quite know which one was for me lol). I was directed to aisle 3(adhesives) and simultaneously moseyed, strolled, and ambulated my way over to said aisle with the unquestionable knowledge that I had been led not astray and that my journey would soon be over.But first, the denouement!!Which adhesive was right for me? The selection was no less than noble, and in reality leaned more towards grandiose amd epic combined. Now, in order to not toy with your emotions, and save some time and suspense and possibly some serious disappointment, I admit at this juncture of my personal recollection of my enjoyable experience at ace hardware over on diamond lake rd(which confuses me so lol, due to the fact that there is another diamond lake road over yonder in the northwest suburbs that I have much experience on) that due to my own personal privacy reasons, AND in order to not try and influence any of ye fine folk to any particular maker of adhesive(for there are many and each deserves a fair chance of being chosen by each of us on the day that our sudden need for adhesion rears its ugly head..like a medusa with hair of loose picture frames and broken precious moments porcelain figurines that will turn a man to stone (which type of stone ive often wondered..and which...yep! Adhesive would bond with such a thing. But I tell you one thing that I know and is as indelible and stalwart of a statement that can be (and would be) dubbed as an objective style fact.You must!!You must look the wretched and ratchet harpy dead in her mythological eyes and say excuse me, miss..can you recommend a quality adhesive?And if youre fortunate enough to find yourself at Ace Hardware on diamond lake rd, I assure you that you will possibly get the right kind of adhesive that your task necessitates. I say possibly because unfortunately I did not. The adhesive that the clerk girl recommended had a haunted sort of look to it that gave me a chill down my spine, and so I opted for another. That decision led to me wasting $6.99 on an inappropriate adhesive. Needless to say I went back later that day and heeded the sweet clerk girls advise. And now, I am happy to declare that my life is perfect. No problems, plenty of money, and so so many things properly adhered to a number of other things. Thank you Ace!!!

Fantastic hardware store. While they don’t have everything the big box stores have, their care and attention to each customer more than makes up for it. I am proud to say this is my neighborhood hardware store.

Helpful staff with tons of expertise to help you navigate old home woes, great selection, easy special order process, and curbside order pick-ups (we have a couple high risk family members, so this has been huge during COVID). I have never had anything but the very best shopping experience at this store. The knowledgeable staff has always been spot on with suggestions on any project I am working on. Giving me plenty of options, and helping me out from start to finish. Help is abundant, friendly and quick. I never have to spend much time looking for anything. As a fisherman I also appreciate the live bait selections as we dont have many bait or tackle shops in the area so it is nice to have a place to pick up a few extra weights or hooks if needed in a pinch. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

The BEST neighborhood hardware store. I went in to get a bolt for my license plate and the guy helping me ended up finding a different screw to fix my license plate without me even asking!!! So kind and genuinely helpful. Will be going here for any future hardware needs.

I brought in something to be repaired and was told a price. They also said I could buy the same item new for about the same price. For environmental reasons I chose the repair. When I came to pick up the item the price was twice as much as I was quoted. I wasnt told about the labor charge. I spoke to someone about it and they offered to split it. He asked if I was happy with that, I told him no, but thats the way it was.

This place is great! They were fully stocked on shovels when absolutely no one else has them. Store is well organized and its easy to find what you need. Very clean and the product shelves/displays are impressive. And last but not least, the staff are great! They know exactly where everything is. They are very friendly, polite, and make you feel welcome. Highly recommend coming here over your big box store any day.

These guys are generally very helpful but avoid the grumpy guy with the white hair.

The shop is packed full. Good selection of rubber tips for chairs and canes -- better than I have seen at much larger stores. Also good selection of products for maintaining old wooden windows. Friendly, helpful staff.

They are so incredibly helpful every single time I go there. Yesterday I was in the middle of fixing my toilet, and I realized didnt have the right tools. Not only did the employee suggest the perfect tool, but he then took me over to the plumbing section, opened up boxes of parts and showed me some tips and tricks to make it easier - even though I already purchased the parts somewhere else. The staff there is THE BEST!

This place is awesome!! Every time I come in here, one of the staff members asks me if I need help within a minute or two. Which is great, because it means that I spend a fraction of the time looking for what I need (compared to how much time Id spend wandering the aisles without their help). The staff here are so nice and helpful and so friendly!! A few weeks ago, we came to Diamond Lake Hardware to buy about 10 bags of mulch. The man who helped us actually met us outside (wed called about 15 minutes prior to ask if they even had mulch yet, as it was the beginning of the season). He helped us load the bags of mulch into our car, then took us inside, helped us find the couple other things we needed, then got us all checked out. All in under 10 minutes. And this experience wasnt unique--I have the same experience (consistently helpful, friendly, very knowledgeable staff) every time I shop at Diamond Lake Hardware. You will NEVER want to go back to a Home Depot again after shopping here!

This review is written with sadness. My family and I have been shopping at this neighborhood hardware store for 25+ years and have always found it to be well stocked with high quality merchandise and staffed by very helpful and kind people. I have found environmentally safe painting supplies and strippers unavailable elsewhere and interesting tools for the men in my life. I have never felt intimidated or disrespected... until today.This morning I parked in front of the store and as I left my car to head across the street, I heard a mans voice say either, the door is here orheres the door. I looked back to see a young man who works there looking at me. I kind of laughed and kept going thinking he was just joking.However, when I asked him a few minutes later before getting back into my car if hed been joking, he told me it was rude to park in front of the store and to not go in to buy something. So, I asked if he would have accosted a man who did the same (Im a 51, 69 year old woman.) and he lost it. I cant remember what he said after that or what I said.Fortunately, one of the other employees came out then. The young man went into the store and the other employee listened to me and apologized. He admitted that it was a public street and that he would talk to the young man.That was the exact right thing for this representative of the store to do. Sadly, I do not feel comfortable going back for a while but I hope the young man was not suspended or worse and will learn to treat others with the same kindness, helpfulness, and respect his fellow employees have always done.

Went to get some fat head minnows and the sales asscoiste that assisted me was very polite and friendly was very knowagble about fishing gear I had needed something to help keep my minows alive and the sales associate had suggested of different products and what product would be cheaper and do the something as a more expensive item the sell all fishing bait the minnows are alwats delivered daily very reasonable prices
