We absolutely love this place. They have a small bistro style grocery store with authentic Iranian foods and items. They also have a full restaurant with some of the most flavorful food you can find. Hassan and his brothers are always a pleasure to chat with!Anytime were in the area we make sure to stop here to either purchase something from their grocery store or eat at the restaurant.

We dined here with some regularity prior to the pandemic. Other than stopping by to pick up their special blend of tea, and imported dates, we havent dined in for almost 2 years. Everything was just as savory and delicious as always. The Feta Cheese Platter was excellent and an ample starter for 3 of us. Salads were very fresh. Gyros great as always, and the Chelou Kabab tender. We shopped the marketplace afterwards. Great selection of Persian foods. All together, the food, the market, and the owners sincerity, make this more than just a meal out - its an experience.

We were there with a LARGE family group and the service was wonderful. Clean plates and extra drinks were offered before we had to ask. Food was delicious and our waitress explained what each entree was as it was served. We enjoyed a leisurely meal AND the leftovers. Thanks again to the great chef, an amazing waitress and a phenomenal baker!! We will be back.

We had dinner at Caspian Bistro last evening with our freshman UMN student (9/17/21) and absolutely loved it. Super kind people that took great care of us, helped us make great menu choices, and took time to visit with us. And the food was AWESOME!!! Well certainly be back next time we visit our daughter. Cant wait.

This has been one of our favorite restaurants since we first started dating (1994). We’ve been married 21 years and continue to dine here; we just can’t get enough. The food is delicious, the tea is black and the desserts are sweet! They also have a market that has everything you would need to make your own Persian meal. We will be back!

This place is amazing. As someone who never had Persian food my first experience was exceptional. I came with my friend who had experience with the food and markets. We were equally impressed. The koubideh was fantastic. I couldnt even do the food justice by describing it. The staff were incredibly helpful in the market showing us a variety of options and almost all of the products are made in Iran. In many experience trying a new cultural food would be stressful but the waitress, hostess, staff all made it very clear, explained, and introduced the dishes.

The service is very good and staff are really friendly. The design and the decoration has taste of Persian atmosphere with beautiful paintings, with a market on the side of the restaurant where you can find fresh Iranian ingredients or delicious pastries hear.

My wife and I decided we would try someplace new for a nice Friday evening. We are very pleased to have found this gem. The grocery store is all import items, not the type you would find in a typical standard grocery store. The restaurant was quiet, beautiful. We sat down for a wonderful dinner. Everything we ordered was different from what we were used to which is exactly what we were looking for. My wife and I love to support local businesses. We have a new restaurant added as a favorite and we will be back many times over. Family owned - a joy to visit. Check this place out if your in for a delight!

The Caspian is a 40-year tradition here in Minneapolis, and I am embarrassed to say that today was my first visit. That aside, better to have been too late than to have never been at all.The food is fantastic. I ordered the Dolmeh for an appetizer, Caspian Salad and Falafel for the main course, and the house tea as well as a glass of Doogh for beverages.The food arrived quickly and was beautifully prepared and arranged. Each bite was filled with even flavor and texture, and I was joyfully filled with almost exactly half to bring home for later.After dinner, I visited the market and purchased several snacks for friends (Turkish delight and baklava), some tea, and a beautiful copy of the Quran. I was also able to converse briefly with the owner, a kind and smart man and a wonderful conversationalist.Please visit the Caspian if you have not already. It is well with the visit.

Loved the rice and the meat there. I got number 26 (I forgot the name of the dish😅.)Make sure to ask them for the plate fixings. That would be onions and butter that you could cut and mix it with the rice (I highly recommend it.)For the starts get the vegetables plate with cheese (the pickled garlic is really good) and their eggplant spread. That style of eggplant dishes is really popular in Persian cuisine.Take the time to inspect the amazing pictures and art work they have hanged around the restaurant.

Great atmosphere, particularly the large windows in the dining area. The appetizers were good (falafel was just ok). I ordered the Caspian Supreme which had grilled, marinated tenderloin (which was ok) and koubideh (which was wonderful). The tart cherry tea was a delicious surprise. We were too full for dessert but took some of their imported baclava to go (also delicious).

Some of the BEST Persian food in the Midwest! Our family drives up every year just to visit this place and eat the food. The staff is amazing and theres a store connected to the restaurant to shop in!

I had dinner at Caspian today. I should say the service is really great. host is very warmth and welcoming. A community feeling. Food is tasty and worth the price. Amount of food is more comparatively. Loved this place. This will be my regular place now. Anyone visiting university or living near U has to visit this place. They have groceries and famous baklavas and jilebis.

Very kind and helpful host! Nice service, good food, convenient location. Im also very surprised to find there some things that I couldnt find in another stores (such as Walmart, Target etc.) For example, at the beginning of the pandemic there was a shortage of toilet paper and paper towels. However, we bought it at Caspian store! Today I was happy to buy a pack of vanilla sugar and Ahmad brand black tea.

Great persian food wonderful service. The restaurant has great ambiance, and it is located in a somewhat of scenic neighborhood. I ordered the Chlowkabab soltani with kash-o-bademjoon. Both tasted authentic. Could not believe that their soltani could taste like that and be only $17.

Caspian is my absolute favorite restaurant. There is nothing else like it and nothing compares. The food is always bomb, the portions are huge and perfect, the service is great. Ive been coming here for years and years and my family will be customers for life.

I have an Iranian background, and grew up eating Persian food. So take my advice - this place is great. Their kabobs are so good. The attached market is a great place to pick up some items for me to cook at home as well!

We have eaten here several times since moving to this area a few years ago. Every experience has been great, and our experience today was nothing short of fantastic. We ordered dinner for pickup, and when we arrived home realized that one of the items we received wasn’t what we ordered (this is the first time that’s ever happened). I called the restaurant and they apologized and promptly made the entree that I had actually intended to get so that we could pick it up ASAP. The food is delicious and the customer service is exceptional. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Caspian is a personal and family favorite. This is a persian family-owned restaurant. Make sure to shop their Middle Eastern Market!! I have been going here since I can remember. The food is always amazing, they have never failed us.

I ordered the koubedeh combo and the chicken kabob. The chicken soltani tasted like unseasoned boiled chicken that took a bath in lemon juice after being cooked. The only thing that kept me eating was the fact that I paid $20 for the plate. The koubedeh combo also tasted very bland. In order to add some sort of flavor I doused it with sumac seasoning. This made it somewhat bearable. I ordered dill rice, I got white rice with dill sprinkled on top. To top it all off, there was a raw onion sitting in the corner of each plate. I want to emphasize that I can’t recall a time that I’ve eaten meat with such little seasoning. It had absolutely no flavor.

Not my favorite restaurant. The food is not very flavorful. The staff are great and the place is decorated beautifully. There business is spread out of word of mouth and they don’t advertise. Share with your friends if you liked the service there. They do have a small market on the side of the restaurant, prices tend to run a little high.

Short of getting great Persian food at home, this is the place to go or to introduce people to Persian cuisine.The grocery store is one of the only places you can get Turkish Delight / Lokum fresh (as it gets), along with other delicacies in the TC. We were a party of three and arrived late in the day on a Sunday. There was a waiting list but we didn’t mind because there was also a friendly little shop attached to the cafe. There were a large selection of food items to purchase if you were preparing your own meals or wanted to pick up an interesting dessert.It was a little confusing as to when and where you would be seated as the host also served as bus person. It appeared to have been a busy floor all day and they looked a little short staffed. All staff were friendly and menu knowledgeable. All our choices were served in a timely manner and were delicious. Not being familiar with the choices and there are many good ones, we took a few risks and were delighted with each one. Tender Chicken with traditional spices, beef tenderloin with excellent rice, hummus, a personal favorite on these hot days of summer. Plus two desserts...rice noodles flavored with two different syrups... an adventure! The other dessert, also with noodles and homemade ice cream....soooo good!Caspian was closing, yet the gentleman in the shop was still taking time explaining how to properly prepare a food a patron was proposing to purchase... old fashioned TLC... lovely to experience! Worth the visit and the wait.Thank you Caspian, had a memorable experience!

Owners, who are also the operators of this family owned establishment give it all they have everyday, thus making it a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. Absolutely amazing place. Ive been to Persian markets all over the country and this is the only place that genuinely reminds me of Home. The isles are beautifully stocked with the best goods, the food is unbelievable and the service is the best around. If youre looking for a piece of Iran, you wont get a better experience than here.

I love love love their fruit and vegetables. Their chicken breast is also fantastic. They have the best prices in the twin cities for that kind of quality in terms of fruit, veggies and meat.

Wow, great atmosphere and unlimited tea! Some friends and I spent over two and a half hours there. The owners graciously let us stay past closing time and filled up our tea cups another three times after wed paid! Ill definitely be coming back here.

Inviting atmosphere, delightful dishes that are rich in flavor. Staff are always friendly and prompt with service. Portions are large and can be split for a small fee. They do not serve alcohol, but you can bring your own wine and they charge a modest opening fee.
