I underwent PRK with Dr. Goyal. The wait time was never a big issue with me, sometimes I would wait for 15 minutes before seeing Dr. Goyal. I had gotten a PRK consultation at another clinic that specialized in only doing cataract surgeries and laser eye surgeries. That clinic took measurements, said they looked good, and then asked when Id like to schedule. It felt too fast, like they were cranking out procedures. I just wanted to know what the best option was for my eye health and Dr. Goyal took the time to explain everything to me. I got to see my measurements and Dr. Goyal went over them with me and explained why he thought I was a good candidate. The wait times can be long, but the insight I was given was that they see all types of eye patients. That can mean telling someone they have cancer in their eye. So if the wait time is long, its because each patient is getting full attention. The procedure went great, my vision is awesome. I felt much better seeing someone who was experienced in all aspects of the eye, not just laser surgeries.

I went to this clinic more than 10 times for an eye issue I had. Unfortunately this was my first experience with the US healthcare system and I didn’t know any better than to realize Dr. David warshawsky was, from the start, cold and distant and didn’t even look me in the eye when he shook my hand. Each of our visits lasted, tops, 10 minutes where he refilled my prescription (which was over $100 each time) and barely answered my questions. When I finally switched optometrists because my eye issue was never resolved, my new doctor wondered why I wasn’t prescribed the generic version of my drugs (priced at $6). Mainly my review is because I felt I got ripped off, taken advantage of and treated like a second class citizen.

The eye doctor herself was nice. The staff, not too nice. All were rude except the front desk people. My father is in his 70s and doesnt understand English and had an interpreter with him. It was hard for the interpreter to interpret because the blond hair female was being so aggressive. There was a pregnant lady that was super rude too. I get that she is pregnant, not an excuse for her behavior in the medical profession. It seems like they all need more training in professionalism and working with culturally diverse patients. Take a class on it or something. What makes you think that yelling at someone is going to make them understand you better? Youre working in downtown mpls for crying out loud. I will find some where else for my father to go to.

Dr. Templeman is a great doc. He takes his time with me to see things in detail and he is clearly does a great job. However, some of his staff are super rude and lack professionalism. The guy who was covering for contact order was just ridiculously lazy to the point where it was so hard for him to get up from his seat and grab a piece of paper to show me a color chart. I am done with this clinic, but would be great if management implements some sort of rule to improve professionalism.

Appointment was arranged fine, nurse/doctor were on time. No problem there, but the nurse was incredibly unprofessional and even made a joke about how I should wear construction glasses (since I rely largely on the vision of one of my eyes). How is that joke worthy? Weirdest nurse/patient experience ever. Dr. Goyal seemed very knowledgeable but definitely lacking a soft touch as he was poking and prodding my eyes. His information was very valuable so I dont doubt he is an excellent doctor, but the visit overall felt pretty abrasive with little care towards me as a patient. Ive been dreading going back, so though convenient, will probably find another option.

Our one and only visit was a complete insurance and billing fiasco. Eye Care Associates website prominently states that it accepts Humana Vision insurance, which is why my wife made the appointment. She shows up, submits the insurance information, and goes to her routine vision exam. Two weeks later we get a bill for the entire amount of the exam. We call and state that we have Humana Vision, which the clinic advertised that it accepted. Two different billing clerks explain that the clinic does accept that insurance, but the particular physician examining my wife is not part of that plan. That strikes me as important information during intake, but of course no one mentioned a word about the particular doctor not being on the Humana network. Dont advertise that you accept insurance and then allow one or more doctors to opt out of the network. Of course, we should have looked at the reviews before scheduling, because this clinic would struggle to be rated more poorly.

Please take care of yourself and do not go to this clinic. I was made to come back twice over two months without ever being connected to the surgical care I needed. My condition became worse and I needed to seek care at another clinic. I was seeking care for a condition that can leave scars on the outer eyelid if not taken care of promptly. The doctor recommended a low-dose antibiotic for me but then told me she didnt feel comfortable prescribing it even after I had received approval from my primary care doctor about it. This messaging left me feeling confused about how to proceed with care. I had a bewildering experience here

Reading everyone’s review I’m giving five stars all of the doctors I’ve dealt with I did start with Dr. Goyal but moved up to a different doctor Rubenfield I think the doctors are extremely professional I’ve heard nothing but respect from the staff I think one of the assistance to Dr. Ruben field comes off as rude but I don’t think she intends to be that way but no matter what I’ve been treated very well by the staffNow this year I needed to spend $1000 so I wouldn’t lose my healthcare money for the year so I bought my glasses there they don’t take my insurance so chances are I won’t again but these glasses for Teresa clean done they’re beautiful they came quickly the people who work with you for the eye glasses were wonderful I highly recommend it I just don’t know then I’ll go for the glasses there again only because they don’t take my insurance not because it’s a bad place I think it’s greatAnd I see a specialized eye doctor there because of different issues I have which is neurofibromatosis and MS and I need to check on my eye health regularlyLooking forward to meeting my new Dr. Dr. Bailey next year

Two female Front Desk personnel were professional. I got checked by Dr. David W. He was professional but was stiff and lack people skills. Office was dull, lack lighting and boring but this may be due to his age. I got prescribed new eyeglasses and asked if I can get sunglasses prescribed too but he said my vision insurance covers only one pair. I was thinking why couldnt he just prescribed me one since I will be buying it out of my own pocket anyways and wouldn!t be paying him for it. So weird. He lacked life. Felt he was not accommodating. Again, it could be his age. This was my first vision care experience in Minnesota. Location was very convenient for me, since my Derma is in the same building. Im thinking of switching eye doctor but then again, I wouldnt be seeing him in a long time anyways.

I have gone to Dr. Goyal for about 10 years, before going to him I took an eye exam for granted. He educated me on why an annual eye exam is just as important as a physical. The office staff has been less personal at times but Dr. Goyal and the people doing the exams prior are good at what they do, I have had good experiences. Dr. Goyal also did my mothers cataract surgeries without any issues. I dont know Dr. Goyal at a personal/friend level but I know him well enough to know he cares and is passionate about eye care, throughout his education into his professional career, he is good at what he does making him in demand for more complex cases and surgeries.

I have been a patient of Dr Goyal’s for several years. He is an outstanding physician and surgeon. I talked to 2 staff members today about an emergency appointment I had with the on call physician on June 16th which resulted in emergency laser surgery on June 17th. They were both extremely rude and clearly wanted to get off the phone quickly. I have paid this clinic for two cornea transplant’s and I expect courtesy and excellent customer service when I have a serious concern. They both, for lack of a better term “blew me off”. Dr Goyal’s assistant would not even take a message and speak to him for me. I am eager to speak to him myself at my upcoming appointment.

I called to get my eye exam emailed to me. The first person asked for my email and said theyre going to send. I never got it so I called back, another person (person #2) picked up and said they dont email stuff like that because its a HIPA violation then transferred me to the supervisor (person #3) who apparently lost all her peoples skill when she went for her HIPA training. I couldnt get anywhere talking to her so I hung up. Now a 4th person calls me apologizing and asks for my email again so they can email that eye exam. She sounded nice and understanding and assured me she will be emailing me shortly. This was Friday mind you. I called today to let them I know I still dont have an email, person number 5 who probably belongs in the debt collection department answers the phone and says they dont email the eye exam. Obviously someone needs to have a meeting where they communicate info to their staff and train 2/3 of them on how to deal with customers in a non confrontational way. Until thats done they get 1 star.

STEER CLEAR OF EYECARE ASSOCIATES, PA AT ALL COSTS!If it was possible to assign less than one star, I would definitely do so here. I went to Eye Care Associates because they supposedly are able to work with people who are in need of hard to fit contact lenses. I have had 12 appointments over the past year, but only saw the actual doctor (Dr. Dinesh K. Goyal) one time. I was assigned to the contact lens specialist Mya for the other 11 appointments. I have insurance, but was told that I would need to pay a one time fee of $45 up front as a contact lens fitting fee which was paid on that date. After the numerous appointments, I still am without contact lenses that fit. Mya attempted to fit me by using several different brands and prescriptions (none of which even came close to actually working). She was routinely so far off from getting my prescription right that before allowing me to leave the office, she always double checked to make sure I met the bare minimum for the state of Minnesota to be operating a vehicle! On one occasion, Mya had me put lenses in my eyes that were way too small. This particular lens was so tight that I wasnt able to get them off and she actually had to use a tool (like a plunger) to suck them from my eyeball. This was painful to say the least.I was also told that, as a last resort, there was another option for lenses that would cost me $300 ($150 each lens) over and above what my insurance was paying. I also paid that up front before these particular lenses were ordered. When I went in to pick this pair up, they were very uncomfortable and my vision was not acceptable Mya told me to really give them a good try and wear them for a while before I made any decisions as to whether or not these would work. She also said that if they didnt work, I could just bring the lenses back to her and she would send them back to the manufacturer as a return. Unfortunately, these very expensive lenses didnt work either. I brought them back into Mya, however, I was never credited the $300 like she assured me I would be before we tried them. While all this was going on, I made an appointment with another doctor who fit me with lenses on the very first try. There was no up front contact lens fitting fee, nor did I have to pay anything in excess for specialty lenses. I brought the hand written prescription to Mya and asked her to order me lenses accordingly. She insulted the doctor who fit me by calling the prescription weird and odd but agreed to give it a try. When I went in to pick up these lenses, Mya left me waiting for 10-15 minutes as she said she was going to run over to the storage area to pick them up (something you would think should be taken care of prior to the appointment). When she returned to the room, she said that they misplaced the lenses and that I would have to come back yet another time to pick them up. This was when I decided to put a stop to the madness and said that I wasnt going to be going back there again.I asked Mya about the $300 that she assured me was refundable. I also asked her about another bill that I received from them for $102 that was for contact lens fitting and reminded her that I paid $45 up front for the same thing. She was extremely rude and at that point she began to argue with me.I am now receiving numerous calls from the billing office in an attempt to collect the $102 fee for lens fitting. I explained to them that I was never actually fitted with any lens and also asked again why the $300 wasnt credited to my account for a product that I returned. They told me that I will never be refunded for the returned lenses and that the $102 was still owed for a service that I never received.Eye Care Associates is the most unprofessional organization I have ever seen. They offer services which they are unable/unqualified to provide. They also charge you for those services (whether you obtain them or not) along with products that dont receive. Its shocking that they are allowed to remain in business.
