I had a few keys copied here today. The shop employees were helpful, pleasant, and made my keys in about 5 minutes and it was only $15. Ill go here again if needed vs. using a machine at a home store like Lowes. Thanks! :)

Called to see if they could help with us with an emergency lock situation. They asked me one question in a very rude tone, then just hung up the phone. Would not recommend for friendly or professional service.

Spoke to a representative and was told to email photos of all locks that needed serviced. Didnt receive a call back after doing so after a week. I spoke to someone who was apologetic and sent me a estimate that day, which was great. I waited a day or two to think about the options and emailed what services I needed for my house. I didnt hear anything back for another week, so I called in. Spoke to someone who was nice enough but didnt seem to have my information available. I will not be using their services, instead Ill use a big box company. Sucks too because I wanted to support a shop in my neighborhood. Lacking organizational skills and following up with customers.

Priceless. These guys are great. Someone used my fiat 500 car key for a crowbar. Badly bent the metal part. Would not fit in the ignition or door locks. Tried tapping straight with a hammer. No luck.Googled for replacements, which ran $150! Yikes! Saw great reviews for this locksmith. Called and they were optimistic they could help.Place looks like it’s been there since the 1949s and staff all look like long time locksmiths. In the end, they tapped and filed and tapped again, until the damaged key worked again. The charge? $15.Highly recommended

Just bought a house. Had Mpls lock and key come out to put in new locks and rekey a few doors. Not a single complaint. The guy who came out was awesome.

I called them up and right off the bat they accused me of living in North Mpls. I don’t live in N Mpls, I can see the downtown skyline from my bedroom window. They only wanted to work in the mornings. I work so that doesn’t work for me. They charge a $75 service fee just for being there. For a business that is in MN get your locations straight!

What wonderful service. We had an accident with an E-bike battery. Key was bent and the lock would not work. Brought it in and maybe 10 minutes later it was fixed!! Great customer service! I went in to get some extra double-sided house keys made that the previous homeowner mentioned would probably need to be special ordered. Not only did this locksmith shop have the keys I needed in stock, they cut them while I waited and 5 minutes later I walked out with all of the keys I needed.

I have been pleasantly surprised at the value and quality that Lock and Key provides. They are my go-to for copies of keys (dont forget to make extras when you have an unforeseen emergency!) They even make car keys, but you may need an offsite provider for smart keys for car key programming. Other than that, the customer service is excellent. Definitely a good decision for your future!

Charged me for $467 when I asked for a new lock for my storefront door. They fixed 3 broken pieces instead of just installing a whole new lock. I later found the entire drop in lock for $28.99 online. Will never use again. Usually never wrote reviews, but price gouging during a pandemic is absolutely shameful!

Highly recommended. They replaced the 100 year old lock in our front door so it could match the new back door. Also got great advice from locksmith Brian about keeping the lock mechanism for the old back door, which our door guy was able to return to us. Brian was even able to replace our door bell buttons. Completely satisfied.

Only place to go if you have an obscure lock (or the mundane varieties).Co$t? - Yea, but try doing what they do at a big box store. (Not gonna happen.)

After having a nightmare experience with Minneapolis Locksmiths on Hennepin Ave. I contacted Minneapolis Lock & Key Co. to complete a job replacing a lock on my business entrance. Brian came over and I was very impressed with his professionalism. He had vast knowledge which he shared and made me aware of the pros and cons of different solutions to my security needs. If I need locksmith services again, I will definitely call them and I would absolutely recommend them to others.

Every now and then you walk into a business and, before anyone even has a chance to greet you, you know that youre among experts. This place is the alpha and omega of locks. If they dont have it, or know about it, then it isnt legit. Mpls Key & Lock is the real-deal of a home-grown, local business with great customer service and supremely competent technicians. These folks are the BEST! They just created a duplicate key for a car-top cargo carrier whose key was BROKEN into two pieces during a single turn of a frozen lock. The manufacturer could have shipped me the key but not for a month, and I walked out with 3 copies on the same day for pretty much the same cost. They were able to make this very quickly this afternoon!I was told that even if that hadnt worked, someone there can *read* the key indents/grooves (I forget the word he used). Impressive place! Definitely the place to go for your locksmith needs!

Here you can copy your original car key ! Just buy the key online for a good price if you an oil money buy it from the dealership for expensive price! Then just let these guys to copy it ! Fast service I came from North Dakota I asked the guy to do it same day he just did it in 30 minutes ! Maybe there are a better place here but I highly recommend !

I brought a key blank in that I bought online. The guy wasn’t comfortable cutting it because it was thicker than my old key. I figure my old key is thin because it’s been going into a lock for 11 years..... but I’m no locksmith....... (although I do have experience cutting keys, just no equipment of my own)He was really nice about it and told me to come back another day to see if Nathan could do it.This was the 4th place to find some reason that they couldn’t cut my key. He was the first locksmith to actually try to help me though. Really good service here!Apparently getting a car key that flips out of the fob (the kind almost all new cars have) cut is asking WAY TOO MUCH of the locksmiths in Minnesota.A few hours later I got it successfully cut at Apollo Locksmith in St.Paul for $5!!
