This is the way restaurants should be. Home cooked meals, generous portions and some of the finest food I had in a long time. Didnt have enough time to try all I wanted, but I can say the chicken fried steak is fantastic! Friendly staff and clean and comfortable restaurant. This is a must when visiting Midvale!
It tasted phenomenal! I am not one to write reviews but this was definitely something I had to rate because they had the best clam chowder I have ever had and you need to dip crackers in it cause it is amazing! I also had the 8oz sirloin steak with A1 sauce and it was so good. No complaints here at all! Also, they had the fastest serving time I have ever seen at a restaurant in my life and they had every single booth and seat full as well pretty much and we got our food literally like 2 minutes after we ordered and it was super busy. Fantastic place.
Great food and large portions are what you can expect here.. even at their busiest they deliver the goods
Im just not sure about giving 5 stars. The food is great and so is the service, but this place is busy enough already and giving it a great rating is only going to make things worse. Go find your own awesome restaurant!
Growing up in MIdvale, been a regular customer here for years. Third time going to eat, we were seated in the back, and literally forgotten about. Customer service has sadly gone down hill. Too bad because it used to be a fabulous locally owned cafe.
I would have been so happy to give this place 5 stars but I was charged for a tip I never authorized. I just happen to go over my debit card transactions and noticed my receipt was $6 more than when I left. Not cool. I wonder how many others this has happened to??

Service was great. Food was mediocre at best. Food quality was much better in the 90s. I try to go to this establishment every couple of years. The food was not worth writing home about, or the price paid
Over all experience was good. The waitresses were good. All of the staff kept busy. The noise level in the restaurant was very loud but that was all of the customers fault. My husbands ground sirloin was raw and cold in the middle but he got a new one that was cooked perfectly to replace it without any problem. The corn tasted like it was obviously from a can. Those are the reasons why Im only giving it 3 stars.
Its a great place to eat. We went there on Sunday super buizy. But got seated right away. Great service. And we got r food quite fast. And piping hot and very delicious and big proportion to boot. Definitely recommend going here.
This is a down to Earth diner right here! The scones with honey butter never disappoint, coffee is fresh and is continuously filled by the caring staff. The food comes in abundant portions with a smile. Thank you Midvale mining cafe, I will be back for more.
Their mashed potatoes are awesome. Very friendly staff that will work hard to make sure you have a nice meal. PLEASE TIP THEM WELL!!!

Came in in a great mood on a Saturday morning have fond memories of this place as usual it was packed after waiting 20 minutes for a table I asked if we could sit at the counter 20 minutes again after being looked at by all of the waitresses we were not even offered water or a cup of coffee we were not even acknowledged that we were sitting there a waitress was told to wipe off the counter in front of us which she did with a slop and wet dirty rag and dried with a paper napkin that fell apart and she did it and didnt even dry the counter. I understand busy I do not understand ignorant .

Great selection of foods, breakfast through dinner. Food came quick with huge portions. Everything tasted phenomenal. I has the Philly cheesecake, the roast beef was so tender and the fries were hearty and solid. Scone was magnificent! Will definantly be back.
Midvale mining Cafe is amazing, the steak and eggs was great, and their burgers are better. I highly recommend this diner for coffee.

Slow service, they werent very busy but took forever to come to our table. The food was good. Huge pancakes, but super greasy fries, couldnt eat them. Its worth a try if your not in a hurry

Just visiting from our of town. Seems to be hit like other places throught the state with staffing issues but the food was hot and fast. Childs spaghetti was quit large with HUGE carrots. Cost was standard for a diner. They were pretty busy and by conversations around it seemed to be by plenty of regulars so I would guess its a pretty great place. I was not overly impressed but I wasnt disappointed either.
This place reminds me of the old Outpost Cafe I worked at years ago. I love this place! For my first time, they did not disappoint. I loved the seafood salad that came with my meal, and the scones, THE SCONES! Delicious. Thank you so much. Do not change!
The food was great we had prime rib and it was really good, but the service was horrible. We waited probably about 15 minutes just for water. Finally got water and she took our order, then waited another 20 minutes for just for salads. Never came back to fill our water, or see if we needed anything. Finally brought us water when we were getting ready to leave. Had to ask for our bill, I understand that it was busy but communication is key.

Staff is honest and kind. Its clean. I had the club sandwich and it was very good. They use American cheese in a lot of places that I dont agree with ( omelets, chicken parm) so be cautious with your ordering. Its an old Cafe with a lot of regulars and old timers, and I mean that in the best way. Diners like this that have stayed around deserve business, but you have to know what to expect going in.

Must get the scones when you come here! My wife had a bowl of vegetable beef soup. She loved it. I ordered the french dip, which had excellent thick cuts, tender meat, with homemade french fries. Excellent go to place for great soups, salads, sandwiches, breakfast, and a traditional American dinner.
This place has gone down hill. The food was like something you eat out of a frozen dinner. 12 years ago it had great food. Dont know what happened I wouldnt recommend this to anybody. The only good thing that came out of that restaurant was the server were great
My recommendation for that place is breakfast only their breakfast is outstanding. But their lunch menu and their dinner menu sucks. Their food is very bland no season at all I couldnβt even finish it it tasted so nasty I paid $25 for meals that I cannot finish because it taste itβs so freaking nasty. We waited seven minutes after they seated us to take our order very unacceptable. If it was up to me to get zero stars for their Lunch and dinner.

The prime rib was flavorful, however it was fairly cold. I figured on Friday when they have their prime rib special, the plate would be quick to serve and hot. Seating was quick. The menu is large with options for everyone. The restaurant is large with a diner style bar with tables and booths. Casual diner for a casual meal.
5 Stars Plus! The best breakfast I have had in quite some time. I even bought one of their mugs.

What s fun cafe. I love finding places that are good but not just another chain. This place has good food and was right of the highway. If you need something good to eat and are in the area you will find something to fill your belly here. The breakfast burrito is what i had and it was great. They put a spicy sauce all over it and it was great.
The srevice was very good. The back of the house needs to learn how to cook eggs. The omelet look more like scrambled eggs with toppings in it. And my over easy eggs came out overwell done. The house made fries were great.
If you go away hungry from there .it is your fault . The food is delicious .
I just simply didnt care for it. Its been a long while since Ive been here and I ordered something with steak but it had a lot of fat and I dont personally like that. It was more fat than meat, unedible. Sorry. Ive never been back and this was over a year ago.

The waitress took a long time to get to us to take our order. It also took a long time to get our order. The table behind us came in after us and was served faster. It was also very noisy in there, I couldnt hear my daughter across the table.
Great service and the breakfast is delicious! I havent tried the lunch or dinner items yet but they sound good! Definitely Love the atmosphere in the morning because theres always a few old timers in there, that make the feel of the place perfect.
A nice diner with a cozy, small-town feel. The menu is much larger than I expected, offering steaks, pastas, and a wide range of sandwiches- more than traditional diner options. I got the Friday Prime Rib deal- the portion was large but the steak was nothing special. Service was also slow. I would gladly come back and try something else.

Mining Cafe has some of the best food in the valley! Their omelettes are really good (I dont care for the cheap pre-sliced cheese they use, but still it isnt bad) and their scones are some of the best around! Good lunch menu with delicious sandwiches and burgers, as well as a yummy dinner menu.The only thing Ive had that I didnt care for was the veil, but everything else Ive had is fantastic. Also the wait staff is really good and always making sure drinks are filled even when they are really busy.If you havent been, give it a try, you wont be disappointed!

We have had really good experiences here and bad ones. The staff are always friendly and great but the food seems to be either hit or miss. Iβve had the best omelet here but my most recent chicken fried steak and eggs was mushy and my eggs were over cooked. Some days they nails it, other days are a massive disappointment. π€·ββοΈ. The scones here are amazing though. They never fail us with scones

Unfortunately the βcookβ seems to think itβs okay to precook the bacon when she arrives in the morning. It honestly taste, looks like itβs from the day before, if I wanted jerky this would be perfect.

Been dining here for years. Fridays, Prime Rib special, is absolutely amazing. I love their garden clam chowder. Exceptional breakfast. My wife and I have lunch, breakfast and/ or dinner here at least twice a month.

This place worse food, old and dingy, looks like ruins, wall and table, and floor disgusting looks never been clean, sure some corners might be critters such rats, spyders, rouches, who know what else.Besides my food was so bad that ended up throwing it away had burger burnt untasteful, dry all that 9.00 buck, I was worry about that the dishes were not clean and the glass of water same, tables chair needs some repairs not so cleaned either.That place should be closed doors, how such as bad place still open.I wont recommend not even a homeless people to go there.
I this is the first Chicken Fried Steak Ive ever eaten before! I am SO glad I did it here because they definitely do it right. Service is kinda snappy you can tell they kinda get a lot of business because Its a comfortable environment but at the same time not really friendly. SLIGHTLY too expensive for my pockets as well TBH but thankfully I went on a date so didnt have to worry about that part.
My wife loves the French toast here and I love the pancakes. Good food and people. There is a reason this place is always busy.

Was very disappointed in this last visit to MMC. The food and service has never had issues in the past but tonights visit failed in every way, shape and form. We were first seated just before 7pm and did not even receive water to the table until after 7:20. It was about 7:30 by the time the waitress took our order. I thought well, at least the food is always good. Unfortunately that part of the experience was not good either. My meal arrived at least 5 minutes before my wifes did, the waitress had to ask what it was that my wife had ordered and then it was brought out shortly after. The food was very stale and items were missing from the order. After both of us working 12 hour days it didnt even seem worth it to ask for things to be corrected. Upon leaving it seemed the staff was more interested in chatting up front than taking care of customers. Not sure if I will return and I have been eating at MMC for over 20 years.
If you get the opportunity to choose your server, ask for Jonnie Walker. She is amazing. Best dining experience in several years.

The food wasnt that great and the service was horrible. I kept having to go to the front of the restaurant to get what our table needed and our waitress didnt seem to even care. We used to love going here, but it was definitely a disappointment this time.
Great service, and were great with their covid precautions. Serving sizes are generous and they took less than ten minutes to get the food to us. We had scones with honey butter for our appetizer which is another local favorite.

I did not expect so much food! I got a salad and they put like a half pound of tasty turkey, ham and cheese. I will definitely be back.
