Love love loved this place !! Took my mom on our Mother/Daughter trip and even participated in the beginner graffiti class with Ryan. Let me tell you…. It’s a full body workout. We got a lot of information from Ryan about the origin & history of the art itself, terminology, paints etcIt was super informative & most importantly FUN!The museum itself has some cool photos , it’s not huge so you won’t need a lot of time. Make sure you pick up something from the gift shop!

Fun place to relive NYC in the 1970 s and 1980 s when graffiti artists considered subway and rail cars their canvas. At the time it felt disturbing and illicit but with the benefit of hindsight it’s now considered a boom time for city graffiti artists and their works. Kind of mixed feelings personally however it was fun to spend a little time in the gallery and found the audio tour via my iPhone vital to capturing the essence of that era.

This place surprised me! I learned a lot that I didnt know about the history of graffiti and the different styles. It really taught me something and gave me a new appreciation for street art.Youll find some pretty cool pieces in here. My favorite is the floor-to-ceiling piece by Defer. It looks like calligraphy with both Middle Eastern and Old English/Celtic influences. So gorgeous. The audio tour is pretty good and its included in the admission fee. You just scan the QR code and listen to it with your own headphones.I know you can reserve tickets online, but Im not sure its necessary. We went there on a Thursday around noon and were able to go right in. There werent that many other visitors, but then again it might be busier on weekend and weekday evenings.

I had an awesome time at this museum. You can use your phone to scan the QR codes by the installments and hear a narrator give you details and history behind the piece (Id bring headphones if I was you). The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable - even helped me figure out the parking app that was a super headache. Pictures are the outside of the building because you need to go inside, support this place and see what it holds within!!

An amazing, beautiful informative display and showcase of Writers and the Graffiti lifestyle and sub culture, Put on by Respected writers in the game. The crew there is well informed and educated, super welcoming to all people not just graff heads. Happened to meet the great Carlos Mare on the day I was in. I encourage all to explore this Museum. Hoping this Museum holds it down and is able to expand bigger every year. Salute.

Cool place, lots to see, learn and appreciate. There was a contest thattge Museum of graffiti was running on Instagram to take a pic in their setup they have painted outside of their building. We decided to participate, followed the rules and did what we were supposed to. The contest ran for a few weeks so others can join and participate. Maybe two others joined and 0articipated, but did not follow the rules (it has to be a post, not a story). Time comes to see the winner and out of the few participants, none followed the rules except for us. We were sure that we were going to win, since we were the only ones that provided what was required. We didnt win. The winner clearly did not follow the instructions with their story and they still won. We really thought we had it. Thats why I say that it was FIXED! The winners were not the real winners of the contest. When looking at the rules, the fake winners broke a few of them.Again, cool place to visit but DONT fall for their contests on Instagram, THEY ARE FIXED.Edited.

Dont do it unless you care about the history of graffiti. It’s not a walking tour, it’s not guided- it’s a building with dates on the wall and the graffiti someone found and decided to put on a wall. Walk around the corner- pay 10 dollars instead— for the wynwood wall and see today’s beautiful graffiti art on the smack side of a building which is more desirable photo worthy experience.Maybe if it was a walking tour included (since the museum does a lot of the art work outside that’s free to see) or gave a free gift bag of some sort- something extra might have made the price worth it.

I loved walking in the doors of this museum. There is a palpable energy that native New Yorkers will remember from the late 70s and 80s that was present in the streets and subways...its HERE! The Museum of Graffiti brings it all into focus with colorful, fun, cheeky, rebellious spirit. The staff is knowledgeable about the art, and you might get a personal tour from a master graffiti artist like I did! How many museums have you been to where the artists themselves are giving you background? I had a great time there and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the originators, and those who have taken the art form to many other avenues in the world that we see and know as mainstream. My museum visit was refreshing and fun. GO!

A little light on substance. This is a good museum for extremely casual education on some pretty cool art. Price is steep ($45 for two adults) for the experience. My recommendation is to go if money isn’t tight. Otherwise your cash is better spent in the neighborhood looking at equally rad art.

Located in the best possible area of Wynwood, the Museum of Graffiti is such an exciting addition to the art world. Once seen as vandalism, graffiti has taken on a well-deserved life as true art. I was fortunate to meet some of the legendary artists during the Museums Art Week opening, and I was blown away by their talent, knowledge and dedication. Plus, I did a good amount of holiday shopping at the gift shop -- lots of hip, fun and unique things for all ages.
