It was an amazing experience as Gil was very helpful in explaining how to create the vision I had of what I wanted for my french door opening. This is a very poorly-run company. They installed expensive blackout shades for us in 2018. The shades have never worked properly. Trying to schedule any kind of maintenance or service requires multiple phone calls. Then they make appointments and dont show up. Stay far away.

They understood our situation with an older set of blinds that we inherited when we moved in a couple months ago. They made great recommendations on the best ways to either upgrade or utilize our current shades and upgrade later. The sales guy who came to give me a quote and his service was great! However, I would have rated 5 starts for the whole experience if it wasn’t because of the lack of customer service for scheduling installation which took longer than expected and only after I contacted them to see why is taking so long. Finally when I got to schedule it they arrived 2 hours later than the expected time without calling to apologize other than me calling them to see what’s going on. I got my shades installed finally and I’m happy with the product but not their customer service.

We just completed a big job with Shades By Design and they were fantastic. It’s challenging and exacting work but they were up for the task and we have every window treated and the house looks amazing. They’re work crew is polite and punctual and most importantly, they kept our house clean! Use their services with confidence.

Our experience with Shades by Design was 5 star.We purchased shades from them before and recently bought more from them because they guided us to the correct product, delivered and installed efficiently.

Reading the reviews, it sounds like I should have requested Gil for an estimate appointment. Instead I got Raymond, a condescending sales guy who didn’t ask what I needed, made assumptions, tried to contradict what I said and talked over me as if he knew better. Mansplaining at its finest plus inappropriate personal questions and suggestive bedroom comments. And when told there were other companies bidding for the job, his reaction was to tell us that his pricing is very high and many can’t afford it. Had he asked, he’d have known that I’m most interested in quality of service and product, not price. I’m glad I wasn’t alone with this know-it-all creep. After less than 10 minutes, we cut him short and kicked him out.

Very pleased with my decision to use Shades by Design. We did a major home renovation and have six 6 tall windows facing East to a lake. So the window treatments go up and down constantly. My initial meeting was just me and their representative, Itae, because my wife was out of town. we made decisions, then when my wife came down, she changed some of the choices in the other rooms and then i changed some of them a 3rd time. Itae was very patient and we came up with a great plan. Install crew was there on time. The first install in one of the bedrooms was fine, but the installer thought the shade was slightly too narrow and they remade the shade for us. All in all a very good experience. Things to think about are manual vs wired vs battery. we went with battery for the electric shades. Also think about what time of day you want the salesman to come. I knew from 8am to 10am is brutal because of the east exposure. you want to see the samples against the window at the time most important to you.

Great motorized blinds - Great installers! Very professional and efficient.

I highly recommend shades by design. Every step of the process was super easy. Itai helped me make all of the major decisions with fabric / etc. Juan & Napolean did the installation & came back for minor adjustments as well. They installed floor to ceiling track sheers, which gave my ceiling the illusion of being even higher than it already was. The white fabric is flowy, beautifully draped/rippled, & still lets just the right amount of sunshine in. They also installed restoration hardware tie backs on each side of the windows (3 large windows total). Both times they did an excellent job going above & beyond with their work as well as leaving my house just as clean as when they got there. Juan was very friendly, professional, quick & efficient. I will definitely be using their services again for other rooms/ windows in my house.

Absolutely terrible experience. Customer service did not care that I waited a week for my appointment. She bumped me the morning of my appointment for somebody else because she decided I might not be available.Their appointment email went to my junk folder so I never saw it. Nobody called me to let me know about my appointment.I randomly got a text that my appointment was the next morning. Immediately called them to let them know I need the name of the guy coming so I can give him building access. I also replied to her text saying the same thing.No response to my voicemail or text for the rest of the day.9am next morning? She informed me that she canceled my appointment and gave it to somebody else who just called a few minutes prior. What?After I had been waiting a week.She offered to give me an appointment “next week”. 2 week wait for me, but guy that called this morning gets in same day.No. I repeatedly asked her to cancel them and put me back on the schedule. She refused. It was 930am and my appointment was for 12. Plenty of time.She wouldn’t do it.I asked her if they would still come today, she didn’t know. I asked to speak to somebody else, she didn’t have anyone for me to speak to. Said she’d “give the designer my contact info”. Will he call today? She didn’t know. Will they still come today? She doesn’t know.Would she bump the newcomers and give me my time slot back? No.Unacceptable.
