I could have enjoyed it fully if they were as crispy as coming right out of the fryer but they were still good. Enjoyed the outside setup and the serenity (to a degree) of the location. Not busy at all, so it was quite the welcome lunch break. This Cafe is a staple to visit and enjoy the famous beignets! Recommend!
Got takeout cafe du lait(milk coffee) with beignets (French donut).Intentionally ordered my coffee with no sugar and it was the right decision to compensate and compliment the sweetness of the beignets. Overall, satisfied with the great experience of the deliciousness and also quick and friendly service.#TakeOut #French
I was so excited to try my first beignets during my first trip to New Orleans. Unfortunately, the two unhelpful, nasty women (one worse than the other) ruined the experience for me. They couldnt manage to smile and explain that they didnt make lattes, instead they just didnt make anything. Only when I asked where my coffee was did she tell me. When my husband laid his money on the counter, the nasty one told him to put the money in her hand! Who says that to a customer!?
This is the only cafe DU monde to go to! Other locations precook the Benets, this one drops them when you order. Always perfect, always great staff. Try the frozen mocha au lait, its so good on a muggy day.
Found this right by our hotel and ordered some for myself, mother in law and daughter. We demolished those fresh beignets in no time! Prompt and polite service.
Generally not as good as the down town location. On this visit, the beignets were hot and delicious!
A little run down. But thankfully no line. Better than the 100 person line on bourbon street but its a one time deal. Nothing Id go back for a second time
This was my first time going and eating the Benyas pastry, sorry for the miss spelling of french word Benya...Served hot and good, thank you !
Awesome donuts and great coffee as usual.Quite slow cleaning table however.Employees look burnt out.
Overall, a best choice when compared to the one in the French Quarter. They accept credit cards here and the beignets feels fresher here.
This is my go-to place when visiting my family. The coffee is always fresh and beignets taste great! Unfortunately, because of Covid, they removed tables and changed hours. 😭
Very nice place outdoor fans, dog friendly, watch out for the iced coffee though if youre lactose intolerant it has cream 🤣
Great flavors, good location, great people, open floor plan. Overall, this is a great place to bring family and friends.
My pastry was too doughy and not hot. I was disappointed.
Always one of my favourite spots in the area. Its not quite as awesome as the French Quarter, but its a close second.
The coffee was good, but the beignets didnt really meet my expectations
One of the best places in New Orleans!!! My stay in New Orleans won’t have been the same without this place
You cant go to New Orleans and not stop and have a beignet. These little french doughnuts coated in powder sugar are so yummy. We were staying in Metairie and went to the Cafe du Monde on Veterans Blvd. Its kinda nice not to have to fight the French Quarter crowds, especially if youve been to it many times before. You can watch them make beignets right thru the window at the shop in Metairie. Oh on their frozen coffee was delicious!
Guess what? If you have a vehicle and are fine with about a 15 to 20 minute car ride, you can have the same beginets and coffee you get at Jackson Square in a much more relaxed atmosphere and without the block long line to wait in. I imagine this is the place where the locals come to pick up their cajun donuts for breakfast. This place is every bit as good at the one in the more touristy Jackson Square area and it will be the place for me from now on if I fancy the traditional New Orleans treat.Do not be fooled by other places offering beginets, this place is THE place to have them in the Big Easy.
I love their French donuts made to add I used to make them 👍🏻
Beignets and coffee is always great. There wasnt a long wait at this location and this location was very clean.
Beignets are always hot and fresh. I’m not a fan of their coffee because I don’t like chicory but the service is usually great.
Had a Mini Get together with my old buddies from college days....Great place to hangout and relax with their world famous coffee and beignets...
We didnt have time to go to the Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter while we were visiting New Orleans, but we still wanted to have beignets so we headed to this location. The beignets did not disappoint! I also had some of their freshly brewed tea and my husband had a cafe au lait, both of which were very good. I would definitely recommend this location to those wishing to avoid the crowds of the French Quarter.
It is splendid! The atmosphere, the food, it was a great experience however the server was a bit inattentive to the customers during the rush.
Always my first stop in the New Orleans area! Always excellent service
Simply the Best wish these were all over the US.
If you are in this area, this is a MUST STOP of you are looking for yummy dessert! This one is off Veterans Hwy and is MUCH less crowded than the one in downtown New Orleans. Friendly staff, yummy beignets, and good cafe aulait. You can also get water, juice or soda to drink. They do sell some souvenirs inside. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Great for smokers. I highly recommend!!
Great for satisfying that Cafe Du Monde craving without having to go to the French Quarter.Just know its cash only...
Not as busy as the other locations, which I love! Great staff!
I have my reasons. Good service though.
If you want to experience Cafe Du Monde properly, hold out for the original location. This place was such a disappointment. I took my daughter on a road trip for spring break and I had talked about the original so much, she wanted to try it.We couldnt get to the original location before closing and were on our last day of vacation, so we opted to try this location. The coffee was weak, the beignets undercooked and doughy, and my daughters hot chocolate was so hot she, couldnt drink it while eating. In addition, the staff was not friendly at all.Theyre basically running on the legacy of the original location and act like - what do you want, give me your money, go sit down, next.Blah - not a good experience at all.
Whats not to love....cafe du monde is one of my favorite things in the world!
As good and fresh as in the Quarter but without the huge crowd!
Friendly service great staff. The coffee and beignets were awesome.
Too damn expensive. We paid $8.94 for the tiniest cup of coffee and cup of hot chocolate, and 3 beignets. The cups are kid sized and for 3 donuts. Ive lived in New Orleans all my life except the last 3 years. I never get coffee, my wife does, but I knew 1 order was like 50 cents for an order of beignets in the 90s, but now its $2.73! Yes, I now years have passed, but thats a big difference. And the cost of coffee and a cup of chocolate is way too much. This is the same reason why I dont go to Starbucks. Not a coffee drinker anyway. And if I were, Id just hit up a gas station foe some Community Coffee. Keep it local. This place is way too expensive for way too little. Even the guy at the window said, Yall keep coming back. Well, not me.I know Cafe Du Monde is a staple of New Orleans but they are more for tourist. They should do a 20% locals discount or something like that. Until then, never again.
This is a great place to get the original New Orleans Beignets! We go back every time we visit our family in Metairie!
It was awesome as always!! I was so happy to see that we were able to go inside again. It is just not the same eating them out of a bag in your car..Yeah!!! Everytime we visit the city we have to get some before we leave at least once or even twice. They are just that good!!! 😊😊😊
First time there. It was a nice place.very busy
Still going strong with fresh beignets and hot coffee.
Staff was somewhat nice, service was fast, beignets were good.
Drive through, didnt have to stand out in the sun, rain, or line. They were delicious 😋
As always, excellent place to stop for your sweet tooth! Coffee is amazing. Social distancing in place. Felt comfortable. Will always go back.
Just as good as the French Quarter, but no lines and free parking
Love it always fresh begneits
Very disappointed in the beignets, they were doughy and very dense. Nothing like i remember several years ago on the Riverwalk. The manager Sylvia was very rude to my husband about using the restroom, stated that it was only for paying customers all the while we had been sitting at a table for 20 minutes eating our food. It doesn’t cost a dime to be kind to people, even if we were not paying customers. There’s no deductions from her paycheck to let someone use the bathroom ,whether we were customers or not; which we were.
This is a must stop place in New Orleans. The original is down in the French Quarter and I recommend that one, but this location out in the burbs is exactly the same experience in terms of the great coffee and amazing beignets!
Our one important stop when in New Orleans, excellent as always!
Not so good. Lots of staff and not much quilty of the food. Coffee great.
Enjoy with visitors. Nice breeze sitting outside.
I was really looking forward to eating something u havent had for years. Turns out this was sub par at best this time. It has been over six years and I went to all of my old haunts and this was only one that didnt come close to how it used to be.
Its Cafe Du Monde..Chain coffee house known for its Begniets..Bit pricey but.. not bad place
Couldn’t come to New Orleans and not try it’s famous beignets. They are amazing! The coffee is great as well. We got here during the pandemic so only the drive through was open, which worked out great because we had a picnic with the kids at the park afterwards. Definitely recommend
Easier to get a coffee than in the French Quarter
Excellant. Staff very friendly and helpful.
I was told I had to go here for coffee and beignets. They were delicious!
When you dont wanna drive to the french quarter for beignets and coffee this is the next best stop and it has a drive through so you dont have to get out of the car. The beignets were piping hot and so was my cafe au lait. Worth the drive and worth the little wait!
Clean, great staff, beignets loaded with powdered sugar, great coffee.
The beignet were not cooked all the way, there was to much dough in the middle. They did not puff out like they were supposed to. I guess it depends on who is cooking then. Every other time they were great.
Fresh beignets and good coffee with friendly staff
Love having beignets. The beignets are hot and fresh and delicious.
Definitely an overrated stop. The beignets were doughy and disappointing.
Best Beignets in town.
Used drive thru and was thankful for the suggestion of the server on how to pack my order for a long trip. Will definitely come back next time Im in town.
Always a must to grab beignets when home. The drive they guys were really nice but the beignets werent as hit and fresh as usual.
