This is a perfectly average coffee shop.Comfortable, quiet, friendly staff, and mediocre coffee. The menu is convoluted and overpopulated. They also serve gelato, I guess, but a lot of it looked like it had frost/freezer burn on it. Just seems a little out of place. My small hot americano was pretty devoid of flavor. It did the trick, I guess, but I get more flavor for half the price at a Circle K.
The best coffee doesnt justify the worst service!! It was our first and last visit due to a rude barista. Dutch bros doesnt have their selection but they know how to retain repeat customers because of their emphasis on service.
Yesterday Saturday 23rd 2021Our battery died in the parking lot. Our family of 6 with two small kids were stranded without a way of getting help. The amazing barista ran out and helped us jump our car with her cables. Such an amazing act of kindness.Sorry I can’t remember your name but thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity!!Please come by my restaurant anytime for a meal on us.Just ask for me!CheersJosh CVero Chicago PizzaSan Tan Valley40975 N Ironwood Rd
Great cup of coffee...super fun and energetic staff and cool downtown location. Did I mention a big fat piece of chocolate cake for $3? Ill be back :)
Chill and enjoyable atmosphere. Really good beans that were nice and smooth and not burned tasting. Definitely coming back for all the different options to, coffee, milkshakes, gelato galore!
My husband and I were there a couple of weeks ago. My husband was at the counter with me to order our drinks. While standing there he asked for the key to the restroom and was told by the girl with the green hair that he could NOT have the key until he paid for our drinks. Once the drinks were paid for, he was then given the key. I ordered a medium coffee and was given a small. I asked about my coffee and was told that they only had small and large. So, she just decided to give me a small coffee without checking with me. I noticed that the girl with the green hair was letting the other customers know that their drinks were ready. They had come in after us. I asked her about our drinks and she said they are right there and pointed to the counter. Then my husband went back to the counter to order another coffee and a snack for our guest and was again treated rude. I do not recommend this coffee shop!! No one should be treated this way!
Fantastic coffee fast friendly service! I will also so their baked treats are tasty. Gelato always looks tempting and fresh. We go every weekend and will continue going.
The lemon slaps. Its amazing. The chai drink is also amazing. Everything is amazing
I loooooove this place, its so Arizona and just being inside makes me feel at home. On top of that, the coffee is excellent. Will recommend this place to natives and visitors alike ❤️
Coffee and service was great but I wouldnt recommend going here and expect a relaxing vibe or to get some homework done due to the volume of the music. The choice of music is dark indie alternative, not coffee shop music. Ive seen old couples sit down then get up and leave.
They have an old fashioned press espresso machine, delicious.
Been in this coffee shop a few times and had a girl who is the manager make coffee that was watered down twice. It also seemed like the other girls were more anxious when karen was around. The same person who I understand is the daughter of the owner had an attitude while making the coffee. Its a shame I have been in prior had a more pleasant girl make a great coffee and was happier in the process.
Great coffee shop. Great place to relax. Fantastic coffee drinks. Very good desserts & pastries. Great chill atmosphere. Friendly staff.
First time here! The honey latte was awesome! And you have to try their Mexican wedding cookies! Definitely will visit again!
Lost Dutchman is the coffee shop to stop at if your from out of town looking for a warming refreshing coffee. I got a vanilla coconut latte and it the best I’ve had. I’m from Texas
Love the coffee and the baked goods are pretty good too!!
Coffe was good even though it wasnt what I ordered. This shop is set up with a really warm inviting layout but for some reason we didnt feel a welcome vibe. We were there just when they opened and a few people were on line. It seems nobody got an acknowledgement like hi, good morning, welcome or something like eye contact. Perhaps through this covid stuff we are looking for happy to be alive and up kind of places
Super cute and unique. Plus they have lavender oat milk lates. Super clean too!
Nice coffee shop, great atmosphere. We stopped in and had a latte and a black coffee. The latter was a nice, robust cup with great flavor. The latte was entirely too sweet. Baked goods were also a little on the sweet side. As far as a coffee roaster, they’re on the mark.
Great place, friendly staff, reasonable prices and delicious concoctions!!
Everyone who follows my reviews knows how much I like coffee, and in Phoenix I sing the praises to Lux Central, But this is Mesa Baby, and the sophisticated local coffee connoisseurs can enjoy a master barristers own local legend here at The Lost Dutchmans Coffee House, near the Center Street Light Rail Train Stop.By the looks of their richly appointed cabinetry and wood benches for thetables; with modern health department certified sanitary food preparation areas working perfectly amidst a rustic old time ambience of a nineteenth century gold miners watering hole,: It makes me wonder if they actually found the Lost Dutchmans Mine, and spent it on opening this fabulous coffee shop, and local social meeting place. I LIKE IT!
GREAT Coffee... I always order simply a large cup of the days dark / bold toast. Have had the same young woman help me a number of times. Shes polite, courteous, professional and... Breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL.
Great local place with a variety of tea, coffee, and gelato. Definitely a new go-to!
Omg fold rush is the bomb and that lemon cake I took a bite so light and fluffy then the lemon hit and wait the frosting nor too sweet so so good
Little disappointed that they dont turn off their open sign when closed. Walk over here for nothing.
Excellent coffee and great daily specials. The house special Gold Rush is half off on Wednesday. 3 stars because patrons were not wearing masks. Tables did not seem 6 feet apart. Of course you cant wear a mask while drinking coffee. But many were on computers, tablets, phones working or playing. Just to darn risky at AZ 18 percent positivity.
Great place to get a cup of coffee. The staff is nice and the coffee is great. I miss the pool table they use to have. They close early so there is no evening crowd and parking can be tight depending ok n when yo uh go. They also have food and ice cream. Everything tastes great there. And reasonably priced also.
We wanted to find, a nice place to go in Mesa in main Street. This is a quaint little shop that serves small batches of coffee. The day we were there they only served medium roast. It was not bad but the blends they had was a little light for our sakes. When we go again will choose the others dark roast!
We got a carmel macchiato and it was excellent.
BEST COFFEE IN THE STATE!
NO BETTER COFFEE SHOP AROUND! THEY ARE THE BEST!
Love getting coffee here before work
Great coffee and Gelato.
Went there for the first time and it was great. We told the girl at the drive through it was our first time and she was very patient with us. We got 2 coffees, a fruit snack pack, a bagel, and a breakfast burrito. Food and drinks were great.
Love the atmosphere. Great for studying. Though I haven’t tried it, they offer gelato, which is neat.Edit: Did subtract one star from my review after a few more visits. My review above still stands, but their WiFi isn’t very good, so if you need to get online for school work/ect, you may be frustrated.
Cool place, closes at 5 pm they are pretty spefic about this. Bummer. I need an evening coffee shop. GOOD coffee, just an early day thing here.
Very friendly staff. The Snickerdoodle latte, Salted caramel latte, pumpkin amd cranberry/orange breads were fantastic. This was my first time here, but I will be back. Their menu calls for multiple returns.
Stopped for a quick gelato. Many choices. Very good. Nice staff. Support local business!
Quaint and charming. A wonderful group of baristas and calm ambiance. Unfortunately, some customers will not wear masks...or are not asked to leave of they fail to wear a mask when ordering...5 stars definitely if Covid19 was taken seriously....
Good vibes, great coffee, and amazing sweet treats - both the gelato and the baked goods. If you like coffee and ice cream, you need one of their affogatos in your life. Also, their cookies are some of the best Ive ever had.
I go here all the time, its so good.
Good coffee but the reason for the low stars is one of the baristas is never wearing a mask which makes for an uncomfortable experience. They aren’t really taking as many safety precautions as they should be either (some employees no mask, no plastic barrier between cashier, etc). Obviously in normal times this wouldn’t be weird but I appreciate businesses that want you to feel safe and this isn’t really one of them.
My favorite place in downtown Mesa for a cafe. The ambiance is just right, fast WiFi, awesome drinks, and very fair prices!
Love getting out to go get a coffee
Such a cute spot! They have spots open to sit and study. I love their matcha lattes.
Love coming here to get my caffeine fix! Awesome people, fun atmosphere. Prices are higher because its high quality. A small iced coffee does more for me than a large at starbucks with an extra shot. Thanks guys!
Love the vibe, the coffee, the beans for home. One of my favorite local Mesa spots. ❤️
They have REAL milk! Also, the staff is quite nice. Good seating with power strips everywhere.
Lemon cake was good, drinks were alright. They forgot pur drinks and we were waiting for about 15 minutes we had to ask
My daughter and I stopped here on the way home from the Post Office because we couldnt find a Starbucks. Wow am I glad there wasnt one anywhere around because this place is AMAZING!! Its a very small coffee house with low lighting and comfy couches/chairs, along with a few high tables. It looks like they sell coffee, smoothies, pastries and ice cream. There very well could be more but thats what we saw. I told the Batista that wed never been before and asked what shed recommend for Iced Coffee. She asked me a few questions and per my answers said she could make a cinnamon but iced latte. My daughter ordered an Ice Caramel Macchiato. We also go two Brownies. Let me tell you, I took one drink of my iced latte and wish I had purchased the large size because it is so incredibly good!! From this day forward Ill be buying my coffee from this establishment when Im within 10 miles of it. Not to mention its incredibly well priced and you cant beat delicious and inexpensive. Id HIGHLY recommend this place to any coffee lover in the Valley. Extra thank you to the delightful Batista who has now gotten us addicted.
Great coffee and snacks
Gross and over priced. Ordered just an ice coffee, was told it would be $3 and some change. Was charged over $4 and they apparently dont have just ice coffee, they only have cold brew which they charged me for and didnt inform me. Menu board said a 20oz is under $4 so not sure what they gave me, then. Just threw it out. Was bitter and tasted savory, which Ive never experienced with coffee. Gross.
Comfortable and friendly. One of my favorite places.
Can’t believe it took us so long to try this place. We had some of the best tea we’ve had in Arizona here and the coffee menu looked great as well. This place is bigger than it looks from the outside and is a great place to hangout.
A very nice atmosphere for working, and there are lots of outlets at each tabletop. There is even a dedicated (although small) parking lot alongside lots of street parking. There are not many food options outside of bakery items and oatmeal, but I think you could bring food in if you wanted. Coffee and tea options are good, and the staff are friendly. I would definitely work here again.
Favorite coffee shop in Arizona ! Hope it stays forever
A great alternative to a chain coffee house! Excellent coffee, Friendly Service, Super clean and very comfortable seating. My experience couldnt be better.
Lost Dutchman coffee has a lot in common with Starbucks in that people utterly destroy and burn the coffee Bean.
The Lost Dutchman has really good coffee, but really inconsistent service. Its annoying that about a third of the time the order is not correct.Edit: the consistency and staff here are really terrible. Before you leave the premises make sure you got what you ordered
LOVE coming to this place! The coffee is awesome and the people there are great. I love that it has a small town, local feel. It doesn’t feel too upscale; it feels homey and comfortable and down to earth. Love this place!
Their coffee is always on pint
Muffins Are Good.
This is no chain coffeehouse and there are few frills. What they lack in atmosphere they more than make up for in the quality of their wares. Excellent coffee. Very tasty pastries. I recommend the coffee drink called Gold Rush.
The coffee was so delicious 😋
Great coffee. Great service. The location of this place is amazing. Right in downtown Mesa. Can grab a coffee then go walk around and check out the area as all as explore the art center.
Okay coffee but people should be warned about that the staff never wear masks. The last few times I have gone there the young women making coffee there never once wore a mask. Not going there again, for my own safety. Just a warning to others...
Good coffee, great customer service.
Nice place to take a breath
Great for a fast cup of coffee downtown Mesa. Variety of hot and cold blends. Bagels, snacks, WiFi, seating available. Friendly staff.
The barista made my latte just perfect and a flavored coffee for my wife with just the right amount of flavoring. Great atmosphere to hang out and enjoy
The Baristas are the best. Always pleasant and social. Great crew and terrific expresso
This place has the best coffee and also has the best iced chai tea..
I really enjoy this coffee shop its very relaxed and the food is great too.
Great coffee but today they opened up late so I wasn’t able to get the office coffee Say they open at six but not sure what happened today I had to go to Starbucks I was looking forward to getting the half price gold rush coffee they offer for 20 co workers maybe next week still great spot
Really loved my coffee here! This quant little shop has a fun theme, and great coffee. Located in the heart of downtown Mesa.
Friendly staff, decent Arnold palmer
The barista was nice and handled her job well. She was all alone manning the drinks and cash register. Atmosphere was relaxed and our drinks were delicious. Wear and tear on couch and benches didnt seem comfortable to sit on but it didnt bother anyone.
Very courteous and dealt with my 14 & 11 yr old girls and their indecisiveness very well(they can be a handful)
Me and my cousin are frequent customer of this coffee house, we are Ethiopian so we have deep attachments with coffee. This coffee place serves the best coffee and also their welcoming smile makes me feel like I am coming to my home to drink coffee. After I drink a caramel macchiato here I swore never to go back to Starbucks
