Not a bad shop, they have always done decent work. Although $25+ for a tire patch and 2 day appointment was a little out of the ordinary. Luckily discount tire will do free nail/flat repairs even if you didnt purchase tires from them. Im not slamming pep boys, as they have always been reputable, but having to schedule a flat repair which was 2 days out and $25+ when I originally got the tires from them was a little over the top. So discount was the path I went, 1hr and free, you cant beat that.

Went for the first time to get an oil change, and tires. They didnt have the tires I needed but they made a special trip to go get tires so that I would have them when my oil change was done. Amazing service. I will be a repeat customer!

My experience was excellent. I got a flat tire, and this was the closest shop that happened to be open on a Sunday afternoon. Even though I didn’t have an appointment, their times opened up, and my tire was changed within two hours. Thank you so so much for transforming a stressful experience into a positive one! Would recommend.

With all the construction in my area, I eventually fell victim to a nail in the tire. This was the closest tire shop to me so I stopped by early morning not realizing I needed an appointment (due to COVID-19) but they promised they could fit me in that day and could get to it sooner if they had a spot open up. I was just little irritated with the process because when these things happen, it sudden, like a lot of things in life, and the guy helping me is asking if I had an appointment. I of course didn’t and felt I was going to be turned away based on the guy demeanor but glad they didn’t. It’s the times we are in these days so I quickly came to my senses and decided to leave my vehicle fully expecting to get it sometime before they closed that day. I also had a second vehicle so that afforded me the ability to go on about my day. I got the call a lot sooner than expected and when I came to pick it up, they didn’t charge me for the repair. The tire shop shop I’m currently going to, I do not feel they value my business based on my experiences so Im definitely a “free agent” and it’s experiences like this that earn my business. When I’m in the market for new tires, they will get first dibs for sure because I’m huge on service and they exceeded my needs in that arena.

Jacob and Ron are both exceptional people. Jacob made sure everything that was needed was done. And, anything that we wanted done, but wasnt needed he explained it in detail. And, unlike a lot of car repair places, he kept and showed us the replaced parts. Overall a great experience.

Had a slow tire leak in my rental vehicle while on vacation. They fixed the tire and billed the car rental agency with no issues. The guy working in the office was very friendly and helpful!!

I will never bring a vehicle there again. The receipt said they performed a tire rotation, but upon futher inspection they only blacked out the one ding I have in my rims. Im guessing so I wouldnt notice they did not perform the tire rotation. Called them, and they told me the tread was better in the back so they didnt do it. That is a lie. If they will lie about this, they will lie about anything.

I can be very picky about where I take me cars to get work done. I have to trust that the place I go will be honest, now a days that hard to find. I have to trust that the place I go will do quality work, also a rare find. And last, I am trusting the place I go with my family. I want to know that my family is safe and the car they are driving is working and reliable and if there is an issue, to know I can get it fixed and back to good order is a big deal to me. This is why I will drive 30min, to come to this Pep Boys. I trust them with all of the above.

The absolute worst experience of my life. PERIOD! I took my 1979 Fiat to these clowns to fix a squeaking sound coming from the front end. They told me everything is loose and it would be an hours labor. I got home and the noise was still there. When I called them back, Vince the service clerk who I dealt with the first time, told me to bring the car back and theyll have a look at it. After taking the car back they told me its the (Air in the shock absorbers that was causing the noise and the new shocks installed on my car was inferior to others). I had no idea that air could make noise inside a cylinder. The only air that was making any sound was the trash coming out of Vinces mouth. He refused to give me a receipt, an explanation, a business card, or the time to speak. Me, being calm, cool and collective decided to ask why wasnt told about the shocks when my car was examined? Vince then asked me to leave or hell have me removed. When I told him let me just ask you a question, he cut me off again and said, Look sir theres nothing els we can do to your car and you need to leave. When I asked for a business card, he then said, look you need to leave, we dont serve your kind. After asking what do you meant by that? He clearly in front of a lobby full of people said, Maybe its your name. If I hadnt left right then and there, things would have gotten ugly. So, after disputing the charge of $216.05 with my credit card company, contacting Pep Boys corporate, Better Business Bureau, Attorney General, Human Rights Commission, and my local news; I was contacted by the store manager and refunded my money! I should have sued Pep Boys for racial profiling and defamation of character for their employee making such a racial slur. If Pep Boys is an ethical company Vince would not be employed with the company. I feel if Vince is still employed at Pep Boys he will continuously treat Pep Boys customers in this manner. So in closing AVOID this location. I know I will avoid Pep Boys period and if I could have given them less then 1 star, I would have!

Jake and Phil are wonderful. This place does a great job with everyday standard repairs and maintenance. I havent had much luck getting complicated or difficult-to-diagnose repairs done here, but for typical car stuff, you cant ask for better people. Great job, guys!

Today was my first Pep Boys visit. They provided me with a free oil change as a thank you for being a nurse. They also did a tire rotation and thorough check of everything on my car. My last oil change was at an independent garage about six months ago. At that time they presented me with a list of “work” my car needed including belts, brakes, AC etc....totaling over $2000. I did not trust them and had no work done there. Today, Pep Boys gave my car a clean bill of health and the only suggestion they had was spark plug change since my car has over 100,000 miles. They said my belts were fine, brakes good, etc. I feel like they could have come up with something but they appear to be super honest and I walked out with a zero balance due! So happy to find a place that seems so trustworthy!

I have a new tow dolly that had a grease leak on one of the wheel bearings. First call was to Firestone and was told it would cost me $65 labor before parts. Thinking I could do better, I shopped around and Pep Boys said $10 for the one side!! Great.I went to my appointment and Jake was very professional. Phil is the MAN!! He showed me that the cover was put on crooked from the factory and that the grease level was correct, reinstalled the cover and everything is correct. I’m only visiting Arizona but Phil is the mechanic that you want to find. Knowledgeable and honest. He didn’t even charge me. Thanks a lot, Guys. I have peace of mind that I can tow my car without worry.

Down in mesa on vacation, while driving our van developed a vibration, took to the nearest tire shop to have it looked at, the wanted to charge over 3k for parts and labor and had a huge list of things wrong. So we drove a bit farther down the road and found this place, had the job down in and hour and only had a few things wrong and it only cost a less than fifty dollars. They were supper nice and extremely honest. I would highly recommend them and will use them again the next time we are in town.

I was in the area and decided to stop by cause I had a check engine light, Rafael is super knowledgeable and nice. He explained everything to me and was super patient (I’m not car savvy) and he made it really easy to understand what my car needed. Waiting room is covered in cobwebs—that’s telling. Waited in line for over five minutes without acknowledgement, then gave up.

They are a very quick place to schedule a rideshare inspection. They actually took someone off something else to get me in and out pretty quick. I would recommend scheduling at this location if your near by.

Not sure how these 5 star reviews are possible when the cost out weighs the service so much. I just moved to the area and seen I had a coupon for $20 off an oil change so I decided to stop in. Now even with that $20 off it still came up to $64+ when anywhere else I have went was much less without a coupon. As I was paying I asked if they had also rotated the tires like it needed which they replied no and that was it! I will definitely not be going here again especially for anything mechanical because I’d hate to see what they charge for something like that.

I just had the most amazing experience from pep boys. I pulled into a circle k to put air into my tires I found that the valve stem had been broken at the carwash. My tire instantly went flat I was supposed to pick up a lady for our second date. I quickly pulled out my phone to find the closest place to fix a tire on a Saturday evening at 5:30. Lo and behold across the street behind one building was this pep boys. I called a young man by the name of Jake answer the phone I told him of my problem. I asked if it would be okay for me to drive across the street without ruining a tire and he said my other guy here George is waiting on a part I will send him over. within five minutes George showed up took my tire off took it back to the garage repaired it returned it and put it on within 20 minutes. All I can say is wow what customer service you have restored my faith in business thank you George thank you Jake thank you pep boys I will promote you guys to anyone and everyone that will listen

A few weeks ago my car battery died across the street while I was getting gas. I walked over to pep boys & they didnt have my battery in stock. The guy was very nice & drove me back to the gas station & jumped my car even tho he wouldnt get any business that day. But they gained my business for another time!!

Jake, Loc, and Team provided me with excellent customer service. My rear diff seal and evap system were giving me problems. They were able to get me in quick and the Team was able to explain and demonstrate what was occurring. They were even able to pinpoint a couple of other issues I was unaware of. Im glad I went in and the experience I had was better than one of the other local service stores.

New in town and decided to stop in to have my wheels rebalanced after the dealership rotated them and performed a terrible rebalance. They slotted me in and took care of the job (4 star worth service). The following weekday, I still had balance issues, so I returned. I asked for a second look, but all I received was excuses why it is vibrating. Its my tires, its my truck, etc. I have worked on the industry before and I do know what it takes to properly perform a balance. Maybe there was also a possibility that they made a mistake, but according to who I spoke with, absolutely not. Look, all I wanted was my truck looked over once more. Heck, I even would have paid for the service again, if needed. But all I received was poor customer service and a pile of excuses and no time to take a look.

Went here last month for an oil change and brake fluid and the guy at the front counter named everything in the book that was “wrong” about the car or what needs to be done in the long run but then all of a sudden when we’re driving back home my car starts jerking real hard and I was giving it sometime to see if it would go away and it’s still jerking pretty hard. If my car was JUST FINE and never jerking before we took it to pep boys WHY does it all of a sudden jerk???? I called yesterday to talk to someone about it but I’m pretty sure I spoke with the same guy that was at the counter when we went and he was LITERALLY no help! He was telling me there’s nothing they can do about it but we could bring it in so they can look but why am i going to waste my time taking my car in just so they can try and get more money out of me? I just want whatever Is making my car jerk fixed because it was wasn’t doing it before! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Walked in on a Sunday at 8:59am. The guy behind the counter was on the phone and I overheard him telling another guy how he was trying to arrange the schedule to get people off early. He hung up and asked if he could help us. I told him I wanted to leave our car for a simple oil change, and if I could come after 4:30pm to get it. He said they were totally booked, and couldn’t squeeze us in. It was Super Bowl Sunday, and it was obvious what was happening here. Won’t be going here for anything, and recommend you don’t either.

The Pep Boys on Guadalupe have bent backwards to help us with our car. We have purchased tires from them, and never have had a problem. The staff have always been kind, and understanding. They took us when we went in without an appointment, and they were very busy. Thank you!

Took my car over because i had a speaking noise, they charged me 20 dollars for a power steering and suspension check. 3 hours later they called to tell me my gearbox was shot out although I have had ZERO transmission problems. They also gave me other issues with my car saying fluids needed to be replaced even when i had just replaced them. Took my car to a real mechanic and had a power steering leak. These people will try to rob you if you know nothing about cars STAYAWAY

Worse experience ever with any shop. Paid there diagnostic fee just to have them check my check engine codes and tell me what I already knew. No actual work, they told me its my dirty filter, put a brand new one on, no change, put a brand new mass air flow sensor on, changed nothing, then they told me if this happens again just take it to a dealer...like seriously? A mechanic shouldnt need a computer to tell them whats wrong...will never waste my money again at any Pep Boys

My battery died at my drs office.i called ask for a jump.an employee drove over and jumped my car.i drove over to the pep boys they changed out my battery for me .in and out in 15 minutes. Great customer service.special thank you to the employee who came and jumped my dead battery. Above and beyond service.

My fiancé and I will definitely be returning to Pep Boys for any of our vehicle needs! Right before the 4th of July, my vehicle started overheating and as we all know that is something that needs immediate attention especially during the summer in AZ… I called around 6:30 pm on the 2nd right after it started overheating and explained the situation and was able to schedule a diagnostic appointment first thing the next morning. I really thought the worst when I took it in… They conducted a diagnostic on it and it turns out the fan had quit working. Phil and Loc already had all the information on parts and labor and took the time to answer all questions for me and for my fiancé who they spoke to over the phone (since he was at work and I am not vehicle literate) before we agreed to have the work done. We even asked about the possibility of the AC compressor not working since we lost cool air when the engine started to overheat. They were very honest in the fact they were not sure since the AC will kick off when the vehicle starts to overheat to protect its self. I feel like that could have been an open opportunity for them tell me ‘yes’ for unnecessary work to be done to it, but they didn’t. To make it short, the AC was fine once initial diagnosed problem was fixed. They arranged transportation to get me home and back while the vehicle was being worked on since it was not something that was going to take a little longer than general maintenance services on vehicle would. They went above and beyond to make sure we understood what was going on and that we were taken care of while my car was being repaired. Like I said, they will have our business in the future and they will be recommended by us to friends, family, neighbors and acquaintances!

The manager, Jake, is phenomenal! He gets to know you, explains what is going on, and provides options. He truly provides the service you would expect from a local business.

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Noticed this afternoon, Sunday, that I had a bolt in the rear tire after a tire pressure sensor alerted me. Looked online and found that this store was open until 6pm according to their website and it is near home. Stopped between 5pm & 5:05pm to get the tire patched/plugged and was told they are closed by the manager, Jacob Deakins. No cars being serviced, he and an employee there with the doors open and lights on. Showed him the website info and he refused to help suggesting theyd already shut the power to the service bays down. When I told him I was going to contact corporate and leave an online review because I thought he was being unreasonable he said do what you have to do. So I am!Update: pepsocial is bologna, made to seem like Pep Boys cares about these online concerns. THEY DONT REPRESENT THE OWNERS!!!!! I contacted as suggested and they put up a barrier to making a complaint. Then when I followed through, the owner didnt contact me within 48hrs as is their policy. The sum total of their response was call our 800 number during hours. FYI.Called their 800 number and finally got some good customer service. Helpful phone representative. Had a return phone call from the district manager very quickly. He was interested to hear my experience and was glad to bring this up with the manager. Very responsive.

Showed up to my 8am appt at 745 the manager condescending told me I must have called a different store. So I looked on my call history I found it was their number. He couldnt of cared less. No other customers were there and didnt apologize for the inconvenience or care what might have happened just blew me off, and cut me off to say thanks for coming in.
