07/10/20 I am happy to report that Mark reached out to me about my situation. We had a nice discussion. We reached a resolution that both Mark and I feel is just and fair for both parties. I was frustrated with what occurred but Mark stepped up and rectified the issue. Although it was an unfortunate situation I am confident that I will have years of quality service.

5 years ago i hired Culligan to check a water softener in the new house that i just bought at that time. They sent a very nice technician and he explained to me that i needed to replace several valves and seals and the softener should be back to life. I spent $350 to fix the water softener. 10 minutes after he left i noticed that i was not getting water flow through the house, so i called the office and right away the owner and another tech showed up at my door. They soon realized that the previous tech did not check the most important thing, the mole sieve beads tank. It was completely empty. They told me that it would cost me $ 400 to refill the tank with beads or they can give me a $ 350 credit to buy a new water softener ( $1200). I told them that i just bought the house and didnt have that much money to spend on a water softener. Couple months later i talked to a coworker and he told me that I could refill the beads tank in 30 minutes and will only cost me $40. I ordered the beads for $40 on Amazon and did the job in less than 20 minutes. I have never had any issues with my water softener since then. I am very disappointed that they didnt fixed right and than the owner wanted to charge me $400 to refill the tank. I will not recommend this company for any services.

Excellent experience, would certainly recommend them. The rental/lease is certainly the easy answer to go if you are having some water issues in your house. I appreciated the help to select the right unit and local feel to the transaction, along with a competitive rate. Install was very professional and the technician (John) was great and appreciate his attention to detail and care during installation.To go a little deeper, we had an old Kenmore unit in our house, as many do, that hit about 15 years and thats all you can expect. After a full cleaning it was simply not going to work anymore, the house water was tasting salty. Instead of updating of this unit, I was going to put in a new unit myself.I usually try DIY install and figure things out, after an hour of YouTube videos I thought lets see how much the rental is?. Which would make all the install headaches disappear. I had a figure in my head that was my not to exceed amount per month, since I like numbers and was curious how close I could guess too. Well, it was slightly under that amount and was an upgraded energy efficient unit.Done deal, Mark worked in some extra perks like a month/month rental to avoid doing a multi-year contract. Which is a safe bet to take, and appreciated this small but nice perk. He is a pro too, who clearly takes pride in the operation and with helping customers.John, the tech installing the unit, arrived on-time and was very professional. The installation went fast and he was careful not to make a mess anywhere. He removed the old unit too, which certainly was helpful.Best of all, the water quality is a huge improvement!!

Worst service experience ever - got billed without using service. Kept on telling them to pick up their equipment - they did not show up for months and then demanded $600. Will never do business with this company again - buyer beware!Switched to a different company and everything is super good since then.

We have had a Cullingan water softener for over 20 years now and have always used Culligan of Marion for our service and support. We have always had a very positive experience with them. Excellent workmanship and always there when we need them. Marc has been great to work with ! We just upgraded our softener to the HE model and it is the greatest ! Josh helped us through the purchasing process and Brian did a great job with the install. I highly recommend this company!

Our 13 year old water softener was having several issues (we have horrible water so appliances deteriorate at a faster pace). Josh Coats was the technician that identified all of the problems and was very patient explaining what happened, why, and some options we could consider. He obviously knew what he was talking about and was very efficient. Josh Rodriguez came to our house and tested our water. Based on the results he gave us our options and pricing for those options. He also recommended a filter that would help with the deterioration of some of the parts of the water softener as well as parts of other appliances in our home. We very much appreciated his knowledge, patience, and thorough approach to helping us make our decision. We have been with Culligan for many years. The office staff has always given the best service of any company anywhere! We will never change companies!

My parents recently had an issue with their culligan water softener and had a great experience. Here’s the comment from themI was bummed out my Culligan water saving softener system failed and was leaking water to the drain, my water usage was 3 times higher than its ever been! But Josh came out and diagnosed the problem and had the thing torn apart in minutes and found the bad seals. He was knowledgeable, professional, and advised me how to proceed. I needed an expensive repair but my unit was still in great shape and worth saving instead of replacing. Josh Coats, your the man!

Tech came out. Did no troubleshooting. Told us we needed a new water softener. My husband who works on water systems for the hospital took it apart and it was a cracked rizor pipe. And everything tech said was/would be wrong wasnt. I asked for a refund or half back because paying $97 for him to do nothing and be wrong was not right. They denied...I truly disappointed and will not even buy the part from them. Turns out our softener was rebuilt in 2016 and serviced a year ago. Had the tech looked in it instead of standing next to it he would have seen that.. save money go to people who dont just want to sell you new equipment. Linco has such great customer service and didnt question my husbands ability to troubleshoot and service it. Thanks for nothing a but taking my money.

The guy I was able to talk to was pretty cool. He asked me a few basic questions and then picked my brain for a sec. About an hour later I was doing other work and it hit me. I went in the house looked at a few things and fixed my issue. Thanks guys for the help over the phone

In term of service quality, Josh Rodriguez has done a great job. Hes been very responsive to any question, very informative and very respective to his commitments. He has tested my home water before and after the water softener installation as he promised with no charge. Im very satisfied with Culligan business.

Called and kind of got the run around and about 3 different stories. Pricing ended up increasing and getting ahold of anyone was nearly impossible. Gary wouldn’t take my call when I went to speak with him.

I bought filters for our Culligan Reverse Osmosis system on Friday afternoon. They showed me how to change them. I changed them Saturday and now have no water pressure on the R/O faucets and refrigerator. I called them and the answering service wont even have a person call me back to see what I need to do, so we have no drinking water until Monday. You can bet I am done with Culligan. There are too many others out there.

Horrible customer service. It’s very rare that someone speaks in an appropriate tone or with kindness. They have accused me of not paying my bill, attempted to argue with me, and hung up in my face after I read her (Nicole) the confirmation number of my bill payment via their online billing site. She then took some more time and found the payment in which I told her I paid. She said it was their system’s fault and didn’t know why it wasn’t showing up. Nicole did not once apologize. Will be getting rid of this water softener service based on her interactions and poor customer service.

I rented a cooler and had water delivery for 6 years from Culligan, and was very happy overall with the service. After a few years of delivery I began taking my water jugs to HyVee to refill them, and Culligan was fine with putting my delivery on a will call basis--every few refills I would swap out for new bottles so they didnt get gross. The only caution I would give is dont let WalMart put stickers on the bottles if you refill them there--I did this and ended up charged for the bottles because they had to be destroyed. It would have been nice if Culligan had let me know about this ahead of time. Other than that, I was very happy with the delivery--if I left the empties out on my patio they would leave the same number behind. At one point my cooler froze up and they came out quickly to swap it with a new cooler--by the time we moved away we had that cooler for at least 5 years and it worked great. If you are trying to drink more water having Culligan water will definitely help--it tastes MUCH better than CR water.

I made the mistake of going with a “home town” water softener company and I pay for that dearly . I contacted Josh from culligan and he actually had a better price with better equipment . Unfortunately my wife unintentionally signed a 3 year contract with the company that was used previously in the house we bought! 3 YEARS!Before I realized I was going to owe thousands of dollars to the other company I had Josh from culligan come out and he tested our water explained everything , it was great. Unfortunately I had to have them come disconnect their equipment and had the other company hook up their junk again . Now my water is brown and taste terrible. Really wish I had gone with culligan month to month from the get go. Would of saved me a lot of headache and my water pressure from the reverse osmosis and taste would be so much better. Thanks for being so easy to work with I will suggest everyone I know to use you for any water needs.

I would be very cautious when doing business with Culligan Water in Marion, IA. The equipment may be good, but their customer service as well as their install service is terrible. When they put in my water softener, they took out the old one by pouring the salt water all over the floor in my laundry room and then never bothered to clean it up. Oh the manager Mark, he is worthless. He came out looked at the floor, appologized for the mess and not once offered to clean it up. He offered some free salt coupons then never bothered to send them out. I would think twice about doing business with this particular store.

UPDATE: Culligan send two really nice service men over to recheck my whole system and make things right. Even followed up with a call from management team. Thanks guys!Original compaint - I have used them for over ten years and it was fine until this year. I noticed that they were not coming out regularly anymore and called them in December after no service for 7 months and no salt in my softner. They said someone was out in September and the doors were locked. HAHAHAHAHAHA, I worked at home then and know for a fact the doors were not locked. And no note or follow up call or message they tried to get in or were there like they usually do when no one is home. Said they would inspect everything when they came out in December. Water tastes like crap and Im sure my reverse osmosis filter is bad and that was not changed. All they did in December was fill with 5 bags of salt and replaced seal pack. Said there was only a service request on the softner. An inspection should include all the items I am paying them monthly to maintain, You would think. Last time they were even out to fill salt was in May 2016. Called today and they are sending out a service call Tuesday first thing in morning so I dont have to take all morning off work. I have not heard the softner cycle at night either in a long time. Sure hope something gets done soon or I will be changing services. And due to all the trouble I hope they dont charge for this service as it is way overdue. I dont usually write reviews, but they did not even leave a slip when they were there in December like they usually do. Ten years of good service and now this? Hope they make it right.
