Beloved small neighborhood convenience and grocery store with tons of history. The deli counter has very good veggie and pasta salads to go etc. Coffee and pastries on the porch in the mornings. Very laid back. Pace restaurant is downstairs, also a fave. πŸ₯°

LOVE IT!!!! LOTS and LOTS AND UBER LOTS!!! A Family Friend owned this for years - and I enjoyed stopping there for Ice Tea on my daily jogs ... I lived down the street for years - once I even rented the Studio-Owned Greta Garbo Mansion = WOWEE WOWEE DUUUH - its like PURE GOLDDUST there (the GG HOUSE) ... never experienced real Hollywood like in Laurel Canyon - Golden Age Hollywood - 1920s-1930s everything .... Thanks to Bradford Craig - the owner of the Greta Garbo House - hes the #1 Interior Designer and Landscaper in the USA - a National Treasure for sure!!!! And so is my cousin who owned this store for so many years!!!!! AMAZING ... a short walk down to Sunset Boulevard to the Chateau Marmont as well - encroyable!!!

Cool place but mediocre and bland sandwiches, very basic and expensive. If you guys added Italian dressing to your sandwiches, it could be a game changer.

Nice little country store! Nice service. However my husband and I each ordered a egg bacon and cheese sandwich for 7.99 each, and each sandwich only had 1 little piece of bacon on it. For that price, I would hope for atleast a few pieces of bacon on each sandwich, otherwise its just basically an egg sandwich, lots of egg, dont be so stingy with the bacon, the part that makes the sandwich taste the best!

I had the great pleasure to shop here for a year or so when I lived in Hollywood. I was always intrigued by the legendary allure of this place, particularly within the musical community. Even the late great Jim Morrison wrote a song about the store. On my first of many ventures to get their great deli food, I was deeply curious about the great musical legacy. I got to see where Mama Cass stayed (yes she lived here once upon a time in the lower level) and see press clippings of another icon, David Bowie, ordering his favorite English sweets here. I also got to meet Tommy, a rock and roll star owner if there ever was one, and be regaled by tales of the stores history. The store: the deli sandwiches are fantastic. They really are and there is terrific variety. You get alot for your buck. You can find pretty much every type of food, drink or sweet here within reason and the prices are good, considering the location and prestige. But, its the warm community of Laurel Canyon locals that further make this a special place to be prized and valued beyond mere storefront. Recently, the L.A. city department is fining this establishment for the decades old murals that have carried the charm and history of Hollywood. Its inconceivable that this is happening to a landmark establishment, but sadly as of August 2019, this is the case. Show Tommy and the Canyon store your support. L.A. is continuing to be oversaturated with sterile and overpriced apartments and the city is in haste to demolish watershed landmarks in the name of the almighty dollar. I hope that the store is spared this ignorance, as it would be utterly shameful for this treasure trove of Hollywood history to be another bureaucratic casualty. In closing, great store for the practical needs, food, drink and a great sense of community here too, with many artists, musicians and local residents having conversations on the outdoor patio, or convening for special yearly events here. Its a must for Los Angeles history enthusiasts and for those looking for a great high end but charming (and not pricey) local country store

This is a really nice produce market which has Whole Foods quality produce for a great price. The employees are so nice and friendly and helpful. I saw some grocears that I was wondering about. This is the way a produce market is supposed to be. I highly recommend.

Our first visit to the Canyon Country Store was late at night after a long music rehearsal on Kirkwood Drive high above Laurel Canyon across the street. We had been playing rock and roll and it was nice to take a break in the quiet of the darkened restaurant below taking our time with delicious sandwiches and coffee prepared to perfection served with a smile with rock and roll memorabilia always available at this historic funky restaurant and general store. Joni Mitchell, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Morrison and many other 60s rock and roll legends lived and performed in Laurel Canyon with their memorabilia on display at the Canyon Country Store. We talked about our upcoming performances at our Laurel Canyon music studio in this beautifully wooded hillside section of Los Angeles. Soon it was time to leave but not before another delicious meal with cups of home brewed coffee served with smiles and farewell stories. The Canyon Country Store is a must see and a recommended visit when in Los Angeles its definitely awesome.
