Excellent service. From initial booking of my 3 year/30000 miles service and MOT to completion of the job. The booking was confirmed by email and reminder received. On arrival warm welcome and the service team confirmed the time my vehicle would be ready for collection. Vehicle handed back clean and all paperwork completed. I received a text message and email allowing me to view my vehicle inspection documents which was very quick and easy to access and use. Great service and support, thank you.

Experience started with car being collected from home -very useful when you live over 20 miles away. Driver arrived promptly and was very friendly & informative. Car away about 08.30. Office phoned just shy of 12 noon and gave me a report on the MOT and service. Directed me to the email which gave me access to engineer who dealt with the car. I was shown all the relevant areas by video. All in all a very professional operation.

Really disappointing customer service and high charges from the service department this week. Dropped off my car at 9am and was told I would be called when it was ready, but that it would be by 4pm. Heard nothing by 5.15pm (apart from an emailed video at 4.30pm of an under car inspection), so I rang the dealership to be told by reception that she had been having difficulty getting the service dept to answer the phone but would tell them I had called. Still had heard nothing by the time the dealership closed. Heard nothing further by 9.30 am the following morning. Phoned reception, and once again she couldn’t get the service dept to answer. So I went to the dealership and was told, oh yes, the car was ready for collection the previous evening and the keys had been left with the sales department. Stated that they had tried to call me. Final straw was the charge of £378 for a routine service and MOT, which was effectively just an oil and brake fluid change plus a few checks. You get a free car wash apparently within this price, but it looked liked someone had very quickly just hosed water over it and then tried to wipe off the excess with a damp shammy. Consequently, there were dirty water smears over the car. Have driven a Hyundai for the last 8 years and had the cars serviced at Read, but even when I tried to book this service, I couldn’t get through on the phone so had to leave a message with the receptionist. Got a call back the next day. Not sure what is going on down there at the moment but won’t be buying another Hyundai while Read is the only dealership in Lincoln where I can get it serviced. Such a shame as the the cars have been great.

Richard is friendly and professional, and always makes time to have a chat, no matter how busy he is, he makes time to say hello.Also Alex on the front reception desk is lovely. From first meeting her she remembered who we were, what car we bought and our names. Again always makes time to have a chat and make you feel welcome.

I went here looking at the electric vehicle range as I was looking at one to contract hire. As soon as I mentioned that the sales person was not interested in me at all. He didnt even offer to quote me, in addition to this the information I was able to get was wrong. It didnt fill me with too much confidence. In his lack of interest in my purchase he missed the fact that my wife was with me looking for her own EV. Which we have now bought else where. Who knows if the customer service had been better we might have spent our 85k there. In fact I bought my Kona Ultimate along with my wife who bought her ionic 5 from another dealer.

Just bought a used car from Read Hyundai. I was assisted by the same person from the first time I have walked into the showroom until I got the keys in my hand. I must say I was very impressed with the way I was treated. I felt welcomed and comfortable, all my questions has been answerd promptly and professionaly. I have visited other car dealers previously and I was not impressed with them at all. Id like to say a big thank you to Hannah who helped me from the beggining. I telephoned to book my car in for an MOT. My car was picked up from my home by a pleasant and polite young man and taken to the Read Garage in Lincoln. It passed its test and health check. It was brought back, washed, valeted and sanitised, all this was done for me for just the cost of the MOT test. I am very impressed with the service.

Took my Tucson in for its safety recall in the hope it wont be at risk of spontaneously bursting into flames anymore.Because we thought Hyundais were safe and reliable we never thought to buy a spare car and so had to wait after driving 1hr to Read HyundaiBeware the 45min recall is quoted at 1.5hrs but is 2 hours as theyll do a money making free safety check and wash the car. If youre in a rush ask them not  to do this. Was told by the service desk womanI didnt need the recall work doing which is incorrect as its actually a legal requirement - i.e. Driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition being an offence. When I pointed this out the service woman said she didnt know about these things and was later rude. When I took this to a manager he agreed that it is a legal requirement to complete a safety recall.I took issue that a covid air con clean was recommended at a cost to me of £30.If their staff might have brought an infection into my car because of a safety recall I dont see why I should pay £30. If not why recommend it unless its a money making scam. If I get another Hyundai it will be from another dealer, mainly because of the woman on the service desk. I have had dealings with Read Hyundai previously because they kept contacting me saying the diesel car they sold me and serviced needed a service. It transpired that they had it recorded as a petrol. Theyd been servicing it for 4 yrs! Ive no confidence in them.I would have given one star because of the dangerous advice and rudeness but have given two because of the lovely lady on reception and Trevor the salesman is a good bloke to deal with.

Im updating this review following resolution of a problem we had after we purchased an approved 17-plate Hyundai i10. I was initially delighted as it was a very slick handover, and the car drove well on its way home. However, on day 2 it developed a misfire and on day 4 it developed a serious handling issue. It was booked into Minstergate Hyundai in York to rectify, and Im pleased to confirm theyve managed to put things right. The misfire was apparently caused by excessive jetwashing of the car during preparation that resulted in water getting into the cyclinder head, and the handling problem was as a result of a broken steering column - Word to the wise, if youre buying a car with kerbed front alloys, insist on the dealer inspecting the steering fully, because it could be hiding damage! - Anyway, were pleased with the car now its working properly. We can only rate Read Hyundai as ok though, as we had to escalate the issues to Hyundai UK to get them to take us seriously - All repairs were covered by warranty, and ultimately Read did pay for some new wipers and a bouquet of flowers as a good will gesture, but they did need a lot of nudges along the way - I cant comment on how they respond to purchasers of new vehicles with problems, as we bought used, and I also cant comment on how theyd be towards you if youd spent £60k with them as opposed to the £6k that we did, but in my opinion all customers should be equal - In contrast Audi and Skoda know this, as Ive gone on to spend six figures with both of them on the back of a relatively small first purchase - In conclusion, Read could be more attentive, so bear that in mind if youre buying from them!

I bought my first Hyundai (a ten month old Santa Fe) nearly two years ago and needed to decide which dealership should take care of it. It is 15 miles from my home to the nearest dealership 22 miles to the next and 27 miles to Read at Lincoln. I researched and dropped in on all of them before settling on a relationship with Read to repair my car and maintain it through a Hyundai maintenance plan.I have to say that I have never regretted my decision and feel that the people at Read are on my side. They are very understanding and have always managed to sort out any problems Ive had in a courteous and professional manner, most recently with a battery which failed rather prematurely, in my opinion. I certainly recommend them.

Disgusted with the lack of customer service at Read Hyundai Lincoln and the lack of compassion from the sales manager. I had my car booked in for a service recently, the night before it was due I received a telephone call from the services department demanding I pay a top up on my account otherwise the service could not go ahead and I would lose my warranty.I was told that I had been put on the wrong monthly service plan when I bought the car last year and I was required to top up my account in order to cover the service the following day. If I did not top up the account the service could not go ahead. The other option I was given was to cancel my service plan and pay for the full service and wait for a refund of what I had paid into the plan. As you can appreciate given the current climate (lockdown and it being a month before Christmas) I did not have the funds available to me to pay for a full service. I therefore felt bullied into paying the top up through fear of losing my warranty. I took out the initial service plan to avoid costs being sprung on me and was extremely disappointed that this had been the case. The car had also been booked in for a couple of weeks and this had not been picked up. I was contacted at 4:30pm the night before my service was due at 10am.Further to this I was told that because I had been put on the wrong service plan my monthly direct debit would have to increase. I have therefore had to pay a top up and increase my monthly payments because of a sales error at the point of purchasing my car. Due to furlough I was denied the opportunity to speak to the sales team or the manager. I am disgusted at this behaviour. I was left with no choice but to pay the top up as I was told it would affect my warranty. As you can appreciate it is difficult times financially at present. Not only this but the term of my plan has also now increased. I was mis sold the service plan and now I have endured distress as a result.

The best car dealership I have visited by far.Update. Although the above is probably still true, I have to add that the excellent service I have become used to has deteriorated. Since my recent visit to this dealer I have received 4 questionnaires. I answered the first, ignored the second and am answering the next 2! This is my recent experience:I took my car in because the engine warning light was on. I was told the problem was the swirl flap actuator. The job would take 3 hours and the part was £650. This seemed unreasonable and I took my car to Tyre and Tech, another garage, for a second opinion. They used a diagnostic tool which showed the same fault but said that on inspection the part was working. They said that they saw it operating under its own power and the fault was with the warning system.I phoned Read Hyundai asking for the Service Manager. I was told that he was off sick so I asked to speak to someone with a similar level of authority.I told your representative that I was unhappy about their diagnosis of what was wrong with my car and also the price for a repair. I explained that I had taken my car to Tyre and Tech. They told me that the car had no fault except in a faulty warning system. They cleared the warning and made no charge. Read Hyundai intended to charge £922.00His response was:-We used the Hyundai diagnostic diagnostic system on your car and it showed that fault. Thats all we can do.After booking the car in for the repair I spoke to the service manager. He agreed that the diagnostic system was to show them what area to look at. Not to diagnose the problem. He said that when I brought the car in he would get the technician and look at the car with me and establish what the fault is.When I took the car in the service manager spoke to the technician and came back saying the mechanism was seized up and would not move at all. I said that I could move it. He said yes but it is very stiff. I said it was not stiff and that it returned to its original position on its own. He then went to get the technician. He said that it moves if you push it but the motor is broken. Neither of them had looked at the car, I still had the key. I then asked why it would take 3 hours to fit this. He said it only takes about 1 hour but the part costs over £700 including g VAT. I eventually left the car with them. The service manager agreed that he would personally look at the car when the job started to establish that the part was not working. Since the garage seemed under stress I did not request that they look at the car in my presence but I am very unhappy with the service and even if the diagnosis is correct the price for this part is outrageous.I have since learnt that this is a known problem with this car and I believe that in those circumstances the extremely high price for this component is unreasonable.I would like to note that the service manager was both polite and friendly and that none of the staff were impolite but some did not seem interested.

This is not the kind of service I would expect from a main dealer, unfortunately they have the monopoly in Lincoln, and nearby. In my opinion this is extremely poor service.

Complete lack of integrityAfter visiting my local READ LINCOLN Hyundai to purchase a new Tucson, I found the same model roughly £3000 cheaper at another main dealer. I gave READ Hyundai the opportunity to price match, forwarding the quote and had 2 conversations re: the price. The following day they confirmed they would match the price and had secured the car for me.They couldn’t take the deposit there and then, so called at 5.45pm to take my deposit by phone, but then quoted a higher price of £500, I asked them to recheck the quote, advising I would call in the next day to take the finance option at the price agreed. On arriving, they refused to meet the agreed price, suggesting the reason for the increase was the colour was in high demand.. I asked what the price would be for a different colour - it was still the higher price! Clearly it had nothing to do with colour.I asked to speak to the MD MIKE DEVLIN to discuss the price. Sales manager TREVOR SPENCER went to ask him, came back and said irrespective of previous agreements, they would lose money at that price And we’re breaking even at the higher price (how charitable of them to sell a car at cost the previous day)I asked again to see the MD, this time to discuss the situation and not the price. Again, he came back saying he wouldn’t budge - Trevor couldn’t grasp the fact that I wanted to discuss the situation and not the price. For a 3rd time, I insisted on seeing the MD about their complete inability and utter contempt for a customer - the response was the MD refused to get involved!Having talked to the MD on phone that weekend, sent emails to him he somehow thought that up to this point he hadn’t been involved? Seeing his sales team being pushed into a corner, this spineless MD hid in his office refusing to meet an irate customer instead of defending his decision, or his staff.Trevor then asked “do you still want the car” - somehow he was still seeing buying signals and wanted to close the deal!!!My advice - go on CARWOW, see how much cheaper other Hyundai dealers are, read their star ratings compared to Lincoln which Is relatively low, and find a salesman and MD with some base level of integrity and an understanding of what customer service really means

Great experience once again in these difficult times with the Covid virus, I must say I felt totally safe with the precautions in place great effort.I was made welcome on arrival by Vicky and Nik as usual, handed my keys over for sanitising and a run through with what work on my Tucson would be carried out on a full service and expected completion time for collection.I must say I was very satisfied with a video of the inspection and the service work involved along with a sat nav update all at a very reasonable cost.A very professional caring technician must have worked on it to leave it so neat and tidy giving me confidence of a through job well done, infact the whole experience was very professional.Thank you once again all at Reads Hyundai.

Hyundai I30 was subject to 40,000mile major service yesterday which I was informed would take approx 2.5 hours true to their word the car was ready on time. Another greatly appreciated feature was that included in the service was a wash and polish and interior vale ting this meant car was in pristine condition when collected. Another feature which impressed me was the traffic light system used on the free vehicle health check so you could see at a glance what needed attention both now and in the immediate future. Another great feature with this dealership which I would strongly recommend is the car service plan which enables you to budget for your services without a heavy outlay once completed. All in all a great experience by a company who obviously put customer service as an immediate priority well done!

Not good sales section. Left waiting for new car to be opened for me to view. I left after no contact for 25 mind. Parts dept good and helpfull. I will not buy new car from here sales were not proactive.
